Obama supporters are so Zen
I’m going through pictures I took this year while putting together a 2010 family calendar and came upon the following, taken in San Diego this spring. The bumper stickers are thematically connected, I think. I posted this awhile back but as Obama’s White House tenure marches it, the “Zenness” of his followers becomes ever more apparent…
I haven’t yet told you a funny story about that San Diego trip….
I was speaking at the Life Choices Pregnancy Care Center banquet, and a nice looking young man and his wife came up to introduce themselves to me beforehand. I asked their name, which I promptly forgot, and then I asked what they did for a living. The man said he played football for the San Diego Chargers. I thought he was kidding and asked what position he played. He answered, “Quarterback.” I started laughing and then realized he was serious. His name was Phil Rivers. My husband Rich, who came along on that trip, was blown away, particularly when we sat at the same table during dinner and discussed da Bears. Phil and wife Tiffany are devout pro-life Christians, jr. high school sweethearts, actually, with 4 children they homeschool. Sorry, no photo of that experience. I didn’t want to bother him.
So back to photos, here’s another one I took this spring, this time of paintings for sale at the Eastern Market in DC, when Obama worship was at its height…

Rivers is great. He contributed to the making of the Theology of the Body for Teens DVD series (HIGHLY recommend) with Brian Butler, Jason & Crystalina Evert and the Pure Love Club.
Someone needs to wipe off the shaving cream on O’s face.
And change the Hope to Nope.
Hoping for change in 2012.
