elizabeth trisler 2.pngPerhaps it was because even the ACLU came to young Elisabeth Trisler’s defense, I don’t know.
Whatever, Democrat pro-abort OH House Speaker Armond Budish has had a change of heart.
On February 3 Budish blocked the OH teen from being honored on the House floor for winning National Right to Life’s 2009 teen oratory contest….

This was because, as Cleveland.com reported, Budish “bec[ame] uncomfortable with the ‘politically sensitive’ nature of the group sponsoring the contest, Budish spokesman Keary McCarthy said. ‘You want to save these occasions for times when the House can jointly celebrate their constituents’ achievements without the undertone of politics,’ McCarthy said.”
Enter OH Right to Life, which broadcast Budish’s free speech breach, a pick-up of the story by free-speech loving MSM, and even the OH ACLU, and voilà, Budish today said nevermind. Reported Cleveland.com:

But Budish… has rethought his decision and now hopes that Trisler can come to the House floor to pick up her resolution.
Budish spokesman Keary McCarthy said Budish was concerned about “inaccurate” criticism that he was silencing the teen because she disagreed with his stance supporting abortion rights.

“‘Inaccurate’ criticism”? lol.
It must have really hurt, but Budish was even forced to grovel at the feet of OH RTL Executive Director Mike Gonidakis, who said in a statement:

“Speaker Budish recently called me to convey his change of heart and I thanked him on behalf of the pro-life community,” said Gonidakis. “Blocking speech because you don’t like what someone is saying or what they stand for goes against the very fabric of who we are as Americans. And, while the speaker got there the hard way, at least he got there.”
