I can’t believe the Tea Party rallies have gotten too much more intense since the first ones. And the first ones were really boring. All this news about how Tea Partiers are dangerous fanatics is just…funny.
The real irony in these cartoons and Democrat accusations of “KKK” and “segregationists” is that it was the Democrat Party the founded the KKK as its terrorist arm! It was the Democrats who instituted segregation in the south. It was a Democrat president that put American citizens of color into concentration camps and would not give his moral backing to anti-lynching legislation.
It was Democrats who filibustered the Civil and Voting Rights Acts of 1964 and 1965.
Perhaps this is an example of projecting one’s own failings on others.
The more these socialists try to paint the Tea Party as dangerous, the more curiosity they will arouse, the more the movement will grow, and the more desperate the entire Democrat Party will show themselves to be. Bring it on!
I find the tea parties to be less about racism (though it appears they’ve had a few moments) and unfortunately more about short-sided anger. What I mean is, they appear to be like a bunch of men who have cheated on their wives, been faithful for 15 minutes, and are now marching against people who have cheated on their wives. The things they rail on the Democrats for were trademark GOP items for 8 years.
Mary, you’re absolutely right about the KKK’s connection to the Democrat party. You could NOT be in the KKK if you were a Republican; they would boot you out in a heartbeat.
Denver held the Democratic Nat’l Convention this last time around. Last time we did that was about 70 or 80 years ago, as I recall…. and the KKK had its own delegation to the convention, openly, without any shame. Sadly, the KKK had a strong presence in Colorado at the time, and they were openly and explicitly associated with the Democratic Party.
Mary: And don’t forget about Senator “sheets” Byrd, a democrat who was a KKK’er himself. Of course the same MSM who creates and perpetuates myths about the tea partiers as KKK breathes not a word about a democrat Senator having such a sordid background. Anyone care to wager how the MSM would be treating Byrd if he were a Republican?
Ex: It seems you are an expert on tea parties having read biased MSM accounts. But have you actually attended one?
The first cartoon reminds me of Alinsky. According to his biographer, when students wanted to protest George Bush Sr, Alinsky told them to attend his speech dressed as KKK. They were to hold up signs and cheer to feign KKK support.
I don’t know whether CrashTheTeaParty.org is a spoof or the real deal. Will be interesting to see what happens on Thurs.

Which is why you find a lot of independents in the TP movement. And criticism of both parties, not just the Dems. But acknowledging that aspect of the TP wouldn’t suit the progressive agenda, would it?

Ssssshhhhhh…. you’re going to confuse him with the truth.
Hi FedUp,
I have never belonged to either party and have been disgusted by both.
I have always been an Independent and adamant that I will support a candidate, not a party.
I hope this is a huge wake up to the Republicans that they squandered a golden opportunity and they were not sent to Washington to be everyone’s friends. That’s why you folks lost! Dahhhhh.
Republicans are having another golden opportunity thrown in their laps. Its theirs to squander and I’m sorry to say I don’t underestimate their ability to do just that.
I’m in the Tea Party and will stay there.
Hi Jamie,
Thank you for such an interesting historical fact.
Some of the south’s most notorious segregationists were Democrats, including Gov. George”segregation forever” Wallace and police chief “Bull” Connor, notorious for his brutality to black civil rights demonstrators, which included police dog and firehose attacks.
Hi Jerry,
How right you are! In fact I have time and again reminded Democrats, blacks, columnists etc of just this fact. Do you know the response I get?
Well, those weren’t really Democrats.
Yeah, but all those Democrats became Republicans. (Ya mean like “Sheets” Byrd??. Oh and Bull Connor died a Democrat)
Please don’t remind me of “Sheets” Byrd, I have my issues with Democrats as well.
Then I give them a real challenge. Please name all those Democrats that became Republicans and continued their “KKK behavior” or passed laws denying black Americans their rights. Deafening silence.
You gotta admit Jerry, its great fun to confuse people with the facts.
Hi Jerry,
Concerning your point about double standards.
Indeed the MSM and liberals Democrats would love nothing more than for “sheets” to have at very least, turned Republican. This would be “proof” of “KKK types”, any of whom they have yet to name, turning to the Republicans.
They would also have been overjoyed if:
Sean Hannity(“right wing media”) and not Dan Blather(MSM) had suggested to Chris Matthews(MSM) that Obama couldn’t sell watermelons on the side of the road.
If Mitch McConnell(R) and not Harry Reid(D) had commented on “light skinned Negroes with no Negro dialect”, and
If Sarah Palin(R) and not Bill Clinton(D) had suggested that Obama would have been serving them coffee a few years earlier.
I have never belonged to either party and have been disgusted by both.

Ahh, see, you’re smarter than me. When I turned 18 and was eligible to vote, I was a Rep. During my college years I switched to Dem. In the real world of work after graduation, I saw the failure of liberal policies and eventually switched to Independent because neither party represented my views. Could have saved myself some aggravation if I hadn’t embraced either party.
Republicans are having another golden opportunity thrown in their laps. Its theirs to squander and I’m sorry to say I don’t underestimate their ability to do just that.
I hear ya!
I’m in the Tea Party and will stay there.
I’m inclined to do the same. If I wanted a pro-GOP group, I’d be heading over to the GOP.
I’m registered to vote as “unaffiliated” so you could say I am independent. We’re having a Tea Party here in Lincoln, on Tuesday. I don’t know anyone going.
I believe anybody against Obama and his plans (no matter how unpopular or how stupid the plans may be) will always be labeled as “racist” by administration and it’s liberal MSM arm.

RINO,
What you are saying is the democRATS have been consistently WRONG on the major issues for the last 150 years and the republican’ts have just been inconsistent.
I have no party affiliation except the ‘wedding party of the LAMB, but unless you are saying Jesus prefers perpetually ‘cold’ over hot or cold, then I will go with the unpredictable and inconsistent ones.
