“Why is Jones wrong on his comparison?”
In terms of comparing the building of a Mosque adjacent to ‘ground zero’ in New York City to erecting a ‘church building’ across the street from an abortuary:
Jones is comparing postules on a prostitiute’s posterior to Krakatoa.
The difference, in both magnitude of the damge done and multitude of people killed and wounded, is exponential.
The proposed building of a muslim mosque named ‘Cordoba House’ in close proximity to ‘ground zero’ is a calculated in your face, thumb in the eye, flauting that muslims committed this mass murder and they are now, in effect, urinating on the mass grave of the victims.
“It refers to Cordoba, Spain – the capital of Muslim conquerors who symbolized their victory over the Christian Spaniards by transforming a church there into the world’s third-largest mosque complex.”

How many people have been deliberately killed in a church building compared to an abortuary
I would submit in most cases the ‘church building’ would have pre-dated the abortuary.
The provacation would be on the part of the ‘dead babies r us’ folks, not the members who assemble at the ‘church building’.
The comparison is wrong because God’s people need to be on the front lines as we battle in this war that is not of the flesh but of the spirit against dominions, principalities and powers, in this world that is ruled by Satan, himself. We are ambassadors for Christ, every single Christian, and as such we are missionaries to the world carrying both righteous judgment (“A righteous man judges all things” and “Judge righteously” Jesus Christ said), and the good news of the gospel of grace. That is, the bad news, and the good news that can overcome the bad.
With the hundreds of Christian churches in Colorado Springs (the home of Focus on the Family, itself), last I heard not one church in that entire city was willing to send even one member to the abortion clinics there to minister to women and offer them help. Not one. Colorado Right to Life, here in Denver, finally heard from one lone Christian down in that area who asked for our help, so CRTL trained him in how to effectively minister as a sidewalk counselor at abortion clinics, and he began going to the clinic. One man, alone, on the front lines.
What an indictment of the lack of agapé love of the vast majority of Christian churches, even in the hometown of Focus on the Family.
A mosque, on the other hand, heralds the false gospel of the Adversary and mocks the senseless slaughter of innocent men, women and children on 9/11. Islam worships a false god, and explicitly denies the Christian gospel and the Bible by saying that Christ not only didn’t rise from the dead but that He didn’t even die at all on the cross (the Koran says Allah put Jesus’ face on Judas, and Judas hung on the cross). Of course, the Bible says if Jesus Christ did not rise from the dead, then Christians are the most hopeless and pitiful people in the world.
He IS risen, and He lives! And He will return to judge the world, and we will judge the world with Him, at His side. But, for now, we belong on the front lines of the battle in every nation, including our own, as ministers of reconciliation, helping the lost to understand that Jesus Christ died to save them from the wicked sin they are living in.
I would say he’s wrong because most of the people I’ve spoken with aren’t saying that there shouldn’t be a mosque built near Ground Zero. Merely that it’s probably a bad idea and may open the people who go there up to unwarranted abuse. The artist is trying to infer a “shouldn’t” out of a “this is kind of a really bad idea” which sort of undermines the comparison, in my view.
I was waiting for some coconut to draw this exceedingly poor analogy (One more reason why the College Board should reinstate the analogy section on the SAT). First, a hearty “AMEN!!” to Ken and Jamie.
Jones’ ultimate claim is that the 9/11 murderers are to Islam what those who murder abortionists are to Christianity: Isolated and sporadic homicidal maniacs who do not represent their religion’s tenets. And that’s where he is wrong. DEAD wrong.
The Islamic front men who show up at press conferences smile and assure us that Islam teaches that it is wrong to murder the innocent and righteous. What they do not let us in on is the fact that Islam teaches that all who are not Muslim are infidels and are legitimate targets. Robert Spencer of Jihad Watch:
http://www.jihadwatch.org/about-robert-spencer.html
is a leading Islamic scholar and has NY Times best-selling books that rip away the veil of deception.
Where Jones’ cartoon suffers most is in the implicit suggestion that 9/11 was an aberration. In the past few decades we have witnessed:
The bombing of the Marine barracks in Beirut, with the killing of hundreds of Marines whose mission was to protect muslim refugees.
The bombing of two US embassies with hundreds killed in Africa.
The bombing of the Kobar troop towers in Saudi Arabia.
The bombing of the USS Cole.
The outright annexation of Afghanistan by the Taliban.
Dozens of hijackings and hostage-takings.
The bombing of the Spanish rail system.
The bombings in London.
The beheadings in recent years of dozens of prisoners.
The slaughter of hundreds of thousands of muslims by their deranged Ayatollahs in Iran.
The promise by the Iranian regime to wipe Israel off of the map.
Iran’s Ayatollahs racing to get nukes for use against Israel.
The slaughter of Christians by muslims throughout Africa.
The rise of Islamic terrorism on every Continent.
Parents and grandparents in several Islamic states embracing the practice of strapping bombs to their women and children and sending them into a crowded marketplace to kill jews and over the past several years, fellow muslims. Scores of thousands have been murdered in this way.
Almost daily car bombings throughout the muslim world.
AND THE REST OF THE MUSLIM WORLD SITS SILENTLY BY. In their silence is their assent.
Terror, murder and mayhem are the asymmetric tools of war used by the muslim world. Their stated goals are world domination. Their faith teaches that it is virtuous to kill the nonbeliever, the infidel.
None of that is used to advance Christianity. (Detractors, please spare me the wagging fingers over the crusades unless you are really competent in your mastery of BOTH sides of that issue. Christianity has matured over the last 1,000 years, so you’re a little late to that tea party)
The pro-life movement draws hundreds of thousands of peaceful protesters each year in DC, and as many at abortion clinics nationwide. We have literally had a handful of madmen who took the law into their own hands. Each time they did, the Christian world, the pro-life movement have risen immediately to denounce such atrocity. None of those handful of atrocities has been funded or blessed by any Christian church or pro-life organization.
On the other hand, the silence in the Islamic world has been deafening.
A better cartoon would have been a picture of a dumpster with assorted baby parts with a caption reading ” tell me again exactly who there suppose to be rescueing”? And instead of the line being delivered by a lady it would be delivered by a baby in a boxing stance fully attired in boxing uniform with boxing gloves. And then the next cartoon could be the same baby in the ring with the opponent, which of course would be abortion, down for the count and of course the referee would be doing that sign when the person has been tk’d. I wish I could draw.
For one, prolifers would have no problem disclosing where the money to fund the church would come from, unlike a certain Imam who won’t condemn Hamas.
Jill, everyone who died at ground zero was innocent.
Another reason:
At the end of the day, prolifers are there to pray for pregnant women and their babies (and the workers for that matter), NOT publicly flog them and then execute them.
Now this lovely little system of sharia that this particular Imam and his buddies advocate is what’s coming down the pike.
Find the legitimate prolifer who would do this to a pregnant woman:

Oh my.
Looks like Greg Gutfeld of Fox’s Red Eye will play tit-for-tat.
What better way to build cultural bridges? A gay bar for muslim men. Good grief.
