Just when it was thought her celeb status couldn’t get much higher, talk show host Wendy Williams reported that Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi from Jersey Shore will play hamster by being placed inside the NYC ball at Times Square.

NOW THE REVISED PLAN…

According to People.com, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi will drop inside a ball on NYE in a location where she has fallen before:  The Jersey Shore.

Although it was reported earlier this month that the MTV reality star would ring in 2011 in NYC’s Times Square, the location has been switched to Seaside Heights, NJ, where season 1 and the upcoming season 3 of Jersey Shore were filmed….

“We love our Times Square home and while we’re disappointed there won’t be a “Snooki” ball drop there, she cannot be denied,” MTV said in a statement. “So we’re taking a road trip to the place where it all began, Seaside Heights.”  A ball big enough for the pint-sized reality star was spotted being assembled in the beach town.

“It was never intended or requested for Snooki to be in the actual New Year’s Eve Ball in Times Square,” the producers said in a statement. “The request to have her in a separate ball on a set-back roof came too late and was too impractical to fit in to our outdoor events.”

No word on if her costars, who planned to attempt a Guinness world record-breaking fist-pumping marathon, will hold up their end of the deal at MTV New Year’s Bash 2011, which airs live on December 31 (10:30 p.m. ET).
