First, 3 Christmas-themed creations by political cartoonists this week…
by Robert Ariail at Townhall.com…
by Dick Locher at GoComics.com…
by Bob Gorrell at Townhall.com…
Moving on, wouldn’t this be just perfect, by Jim Morin at GoComics.com…
Finally, although I appreciate House Speaker-elect John Boehner’s sensitive heart and fully support his right to cry, the following cartoon made me smile as I remembered the classic scene from A League of Their Own that inspired it… which I’ve just watched again this morning a few times for a laugh (WARNING: explicit language)… by Gary Varvel at Townhall.com…

2012…will all depend on the candidate. Bush was an easy pick-off, but the Dems brought out a bad choice in Kerry. If the GOP brings out Palin or Romney, then Obama’s in for another four.
RE the first one…
If they’d rather die, then they had better do it and decrease the surplus population. Good night, gentlemen.
#2: I can’t even see what’s going on.
#3: Never mind that the stimulus had the largest tax cuts ever.
#4: There are no death panels, and I doubt health care will be struck down. Nothing in it is unconstitutional.
:-) :-) :-)
Nice.
Check out Michaelsavage.com and you will see an interesting article concerning Michael Moore and his “documentary” Sicko that was exposed by Wiki-leaks. Cuban health care isn’t quite the panacea the lefties want us to think it is.
Apparently Cuban elite go elsewhere for their care and Castro flew in a Spanish doctor. I’m sure the average Cuban has no such options.
Maybe Micheal Moore will have second thoughts about his decision to bail out the Wiki-leaks guy. This is just too funny.
Nulono,
Apparently a judge disagrees with you. Have you been following the news?

I’m usually not one to comment much on purely political things, but: since when is a refusal to let tax rates go up known as a “tax cut”?

Pal,
I believe the democRATS first decreed that a reduction in the increase of welfare funding was a ‘cut’ in benefits during Reagan’s administration, but it could have been later.
Give the ‘dead babies r us’/ ‘satan’s posse’ political party marks for being consistently irrational.
Jimmy Carter has a personal stake in b o’s demise.
If the first ‘Blarish’/’Irack’ president stays the course he will set the new benchmark for ‘bad’ presidents and thereby displace Jimmy from that dubious distinction.

http://www.miseryindex.us/
“The misery index was initiated by economist Arthur Okun, an adviser to President Lyndon Johnson in the 1960’s. It is simply the unemployment rate added to the inflation rate. It is assumed that both a higher rate of unemployment and a worsening of inflation both create economic and social costs for a country. A combination of rising inflation and more people out of work implies a deterioration in economic performance and a rise in the misery index.”
The misery index as of November 2010 is 10.94.
The record for the worst ‘misery index’ of 21.98 was in set in June of 1980 during the last 6 months of Jimmy Carter’s ‘Reign of Error’.
By the time Ronald Reagan left office in 1988 the ‘misery index’ was 9.72 and climbng slightly to slightl over 10.
Slick Willy rode Reagan’s coat tails from a hight of 10.56 to a low of 7.29 at the end of his skirt chasing administration.
Mary,
I saw an article about Sicko being banned in Cuba on HotAir. The first thing I thought of was that Michael Moore was probably regretting is 20K donation. Too funny is right! Serves him right I say.
Hi Kristen,
And to think the Cuban health care system has had the lefties drooling for years.
On one program Moore was asked where he would go to if he were diagnosed with cancer. Mayo Clinic!
Gee Mike, why wouldn’t you go to Cuba?
Oh and capitalism is so evil in the Gospel according to Michael. Let’s just say its obvious capitalism never caused him to miss too many meals and it helped produce the 20k he needed to bail out his buddy. But then, 20k is pocket change to a multimillionaire like Moore.
I’m sure you’ve heard of Moore’s alleged hardscrabble upbringing in Flint,MI? He was born in Flint and raised in a suburb where he attended parochial schools, which were not cheap. His parents could not have been that destitute.
I love these “humble” backgrounds these lefties love to portray themselves as coming from.
This guy is such a rank hypocrite he turns my stomach.

You just can’t help bring race into every conversation, can you?
love the Christmas Carol parody one
Except Scrooge became a changed man!
bro ken,
I’m glad you brought up the misery index. People keep assigning things to a more recent administration. I first remember Carter bringing that up when debating Ford, along with the “Are you better off now than four years ago?” question. When Reagan echoed this four years later, he was zinging Carter back. Needless to say, the economy of 1980 was a heck of a lot worse than 1976.
Also, I remember the handwringing when the Republican Congress threatened to “shut down the government” over budget-wrangling during Clinton’s years. But no protest when the Democrats did just that during Reagan’s term.
Just found out the ‘first dog’ shares the same name as the ‘commander in grief’.
I have consistenly referred to the ‘one’ who currently occupies the oval office as ‘b o’.
I believe an apology is in order.
To the Portugese water dog dubbed ‘bo’,
Please forgive me for any unintended association with the ‘one’. You had no choice in who would be your master and what your given name would be. I pray the master’s children have love, compassion and mercy for you, something their parents so obviously lack.
Watch your back and be carefull not to give any indication of weakness or infirmity in the presence of the parents. If you should conceive, hide the fact as long as possilble, then slip away and remain hidden til you give birth and the puppies are weaned.
Get a dictionary and read the definition of ‘euthenasia’. [Hint:It is not a country on the border of europe and asia.] Then do a little reasearch on the ‘obama hellth scare’ scam.
See if there is any way you can qualify for an ‘endangered species’ classification or can demonstrate you were born south of the United State border. Being ‘Portugese’ might qualify as being ‘latina/latino’.
Do not let the parents near your private most parts if you have any desire to reproduce.

If Carter implied that the comparitive “bad times” should be laid at the feet of Ford, Nixon, or Republicans in general, then that was silly, as was Reagan if he did the same thing re Carter. But yeah, Hans, politicians and people do it all the time.
The 1973 Arab Oil Embargo was a huge deal for the US, one with effects lingering to this day. There was no way people were going to quit using oil, regardless of who was in the White House, and at that point we were simply going to have some nasty inflation for a while.
