House committee to grill Sebelius on Planned Parenthood; will ask DOJ to investigate if she “refuses to answer” or “lies”
Pro-life Congressman Cliff Stearns (R-FL) wrote in an op ed at BigGovernment.com over the weekend:
While working to defund this organization, as Chairman of the Energy and Commerce Committee’s Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee, I also plan to hold a hearing with the Secretary of Health and Human Services, Kathleen Sebelius, testifying on why taxpayers should support Planned Parenthood.
I also want her to address what steps she has ordered to get this group to obey state and federal laws, which should be demanded of any beneficiary of federal funding.
That was good enough, but it gets way better. According to Politico on February 10:
On Thursday… Stearns demanded that… Sebelius explain the videos in which anti-abortion activists with the group Live Action pose as pimps and secretly record their conversations with workers at the family planning organization….
Stearns threatened to ask the Department of Justice to investigate Sebelius if she refuses to answer questions before the Energy and Commerce Committee Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations, which he heads.
“We’re going to bring Health and Human Services Secretary Sebelius, put her under oath in the spring and ask her to explain what is she doing about these videos,” Stearns said Thursday, flanked by anti-abortion activists at a press conference on Capitol Hill, including the president of the group that recorded and released the videos.
“We’re not going to wait for Attorney General [Eric] Holder to do anything,” he added, as supporters clapped and cheered. “And if she lies, then we’re going to ask the attorney general to investigate her.”
Sebelius, whose agency oversees grants to PP… hasn’t yet testified in the GOP-dominated House.
Stearns said the Justice Department should investigate Sebelius if she lies under oath about PP’s activities.
This is luscious, no other word to describe it.
I hope Stearns’ grilling of Sebelius goes back to her attempts as governor of KS to thwart 107 criminal charges against Planned Parenthood of Kansas and Mid-Missouri for illegal late-term abortions.
Those charges are still pending, even as Sebelius’ corrupt cronies attempt to politically lynch former KS AG Phill Kline for trying to enforce KS law against PP.
Jill Stanek is a nurse turned speaker, columnist and blogger, a national figure in the effort to protect both preborn and postborn innocent human life.
Somebody should contact Stearns’ office and make sure he does ask the right questions. It might be a good idea to contact the other committee members also.
Excellent. Let’s get top the bottom of why PP is continually protected, funded and permitted to continue. I am sure, Ms. Sebelius is prepared – especially with giving her so much notice on what will be happening in the next group of hearings.
But I hope this is not political blustering. We need to really mean business – and shut the money spigot off to PP – in all ways, even the ones that the Obama administration keeps coming up with.
Also – they should ask why the CDC has been asked not to provide reporting information on abortion any more. Please demand those numbers continue to be reported.

Breast Cancer
Childhood Cancers
Juvenile Diabetes
Alzheimer’s
Parkinsons
The list is endless, but that kind of money could help us make some serious progress over the course of a decade. Instead, we use it to help subsidize people getting their jollies and then killing their babies. This is really a very simple matter.
If we as a people are willing to spend over 3.5 billion dollars a decade to help teens get laid without mom and dad knowing, then we have absolutely no right to complain, and every reason to be ashamed when we lose loved ones to diseases for which we might have found cures with that wasted money.
This is going to be a national discussion of adult priorities.
Let the kids get a job, earn their money, and then buy their own rubbers.

Since Sebelius is in charge of implementing obamacare, I want her grilled on the extent to which she’s consulting with PP on implementation issues, especially the various teen health initiatives contained in the new law.

I agree–we could accomplish a lot of good with those funds. The Title X legislation proposed by Rep. Spence could be the thing that brings down the whole house of cards. PP thrives on deception and once that deception is exposed the abortion empire will collapse. Of course we must continue to work and pray that our elected reps firm up under the onslaught of media misrepresentations.
On another note the turnout at PP in Aurora/Naperville at noon today was strong. Absent local organizing efforts we nonetheless had some 60-70 particpants engage in peaceful prayer and protest of our tax dollars being used to support a facility that, according to some sources, aborts over 5000 babies a year.

These hearing ought to boost C-SPAN’s viewership to record highs.
Might equal or exceed hill-billy Clintons’s impeachment in the Senate.
Hopefully there will be at least one congressman who has the resovle to go for the jugular aftet the Kansas blonde takes the oathe to tell the truth.

Excellent! It’s about time Kathleen Sebelius answer to the pro-life community. Sebelius is so arrogant. Did she really think she could forever conceal the crimes that abortionists commit? How far did she think she could push her dishonesty? Eventually…..and it’s finally happening.
I hope Live Action carries on the good work they are doing. God calls us to expose evil.
