- A law regulating the use of RU-486 which passed in Ohio in 2004 has been ruled constitutional by a federal judge:
The law bar[red] use of the drug, RU-486, unless… administered in compliance with Federal Drug Administration rules. The drug could not be prescribed more than 7 weeks into a pregnancy. Violations are a felony.
Planned Parenthood and other abortionists frequently prescribe RU-486 in a different manner than the FDA rules for women further along in their pregnancies and in a way that doesn’t require the abortionist to see the woman as often.
- 63-year-old Ralph Lang (pictured left) has been arrested in Madison, WI after he shot a gun in a motel room and then informed police he planned on killing an abortionist:
Lang said he planned on shooting the clinic’s doctor “right in the head,” according to the complaint. Asked if he planned to shoot just the doctor or nurses, too, Lang replied he wished he “could line them up all in a row, get a machine gun, and mow them all down,” the complaint said….
Lang had a history of targeting Planned Parenthood buildings. Court documents said he was arrested in 2007 outside a Madison branch, telling officers that everyone in the building deserved to be executed and that police were failing in their jobs by not carrying out the executions. Lang received a disorderly conduct citation, according to court records.
- An Australian anesthesiologist who worked at an abortion clinic has been charged with “54 counts of conduct endangering life, negligently causing serious injury and recklessly causing serious injury” after he allegedly infected abortion clinic patients with hepatitis C.
- The ACLU and some Democratic Congresswomen attempted to get Congress to vote on whether health care coverage for military women should include abortions for rape victims.

Thank God Lang’s gun discharged and murder was averted. It isn’t his place to dispense justice in God’s name, or mine. Vigilantism has no place in our movement.
Thank You Gerard! You just don’t hear this type of comment from the Pro-Life movement enough in my opinion. There are a lot of people on this blog that really respect your opinion and listen to what you have to say. So, thank you again.
Actually, Biggz, almost every comment that’s been made by pro-lifers on these boards regarding Tiller’s murder and violence against those in the abortion industry has been condemnatory of those who resorted to violence. Gerard is right, as usual. :)
Lang sounds unstable. I wonder if he comes from a post-abortive background. Maybe he has a wife or daughter who had abortion commited on them at this clinic.
Truthseeker – No one has an Abortion committed on them… It is an elective medical procedure.
You mean maybe his wife or daughter decided to have an abortion at that clinic…
He was found with several state maps laid out across his hotel room. The FBI thinks it would have been more than one clinic that he was planning to target.
The part that creeps me out about this story is the fact that he was a well known “Sidewalk Counselor” for years outside that clinic. I wonder how much support he had from the other frequent protesters outside that clinic. I think this has the potential to become very bloody very fast.
Dr. Tiller was shot, survived, went out and bought a bullet proof truck and vest, and they still killed him. Sooner or later Doctors are going to start shooting first and then it is going to be bad for everyone. We have already had doctors flashing guns at protesters as they pass just to let them know that they will be shooting back. It is reaching a tipping point and it is going to erupt as the rhetoric gets more and more out of control. I do not wish to see violence on any side of this debate.
The 6:07 Doug above is not the same one – me – who’s been posting here a good while.
There will always be kooks, I reckon. If somebody is willing to die, it’s tough to stop them.
I read the whole article. The story as it is told is a bit confusing/misleading.
Me thinks the feds have implemented a ‘pro-active’ approach to prevent another another Jason Loughner from working mayhem. This could prove difficult and seems to be fraught with constitutional issues.
“The complaint, filed in Dane County Circuit Court, charged Ralph W. Lang, 63, with attempted first-degree intentional homicide for allegedly attempting to kill an abortion doctor at Planned Parenthood in Madison.”
Lang did not attempt to kill anyone. He may be guilty of conspiring with himself to commit a criminal act, but there is nothing in this story that suggests he made an attempt to do so.
An accidental or deliberate discharge of a firearm, absent the intent to harm anyone, is not attempted murder.
Then we are told Lang notifies the staff at the motel because he is concerned the round he fired thru the door might have inadvertently wounded someone on the other side.
This demonstrates once again there was no intent to kill anyone, unless Lang wanted the staff to confirm he was successful in his attempt and/or report him to the police.
This one item caught my eye:
U.S. Attorney John Vaudreuil said prosecutors, working with the Department of Justice’s civil rights division in Washington, are considering seeking a felony charge against Lang alleging that he interfered with a person’s use of a program that receives federal funds.
Now that is ‘law’ that is so broad in it’s sweep that it is rife with opportunity for abuse by zealot ‘dead babies r us’ prosecutors.
This approach may activate the law of unintended consequences:
“If you make peaceful revolution impossible you make violent revolution inevitable”
— John F. Kennedy
This the first I have heard or read of this particular federal law. [See fugitive slave act.]
Based on his ‘reported’ bizarre behavior, I believe Lang should be held for psychiatric evaluation.
Murder is never a good idea, whether you use scalpel, drug, scissors or a handgun.
Choices have consequences.

===================================================================
1. These just weren’t any doctors: cardiologist, neurolgists, dermatolgists, opthamalogists. They were abortionists.
2. This debate has been going on since before you were in diapers. I expect it will still be raging when you are back in diapers. The rhetoric ebbs and flows.
3. You are smuggly satisfied at the violence that is perpetrated against pre-natal children.
Just did a google search for ‘Ralph Lang sidewalk counselor’ using both the web and news categories.
Did not find a single story where Ralph Lang was ever identified or described as a ‘sidewalk counselor’.
But on Huffpo I did fine these gems:
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/05/26/madison-abortion-clinic-mass-murder_n_867822.html
“A Wisconsin state Senate committee approved a bill on Wednesday — the day of Lang’s arrest — that would allow residents to carry concealed weapons without getting permits or receiving any training. The bill, approved 3-2, would allow those over the age of 21 to carry guns in locations excluding schools, jails, prisons, courthouses and law enforcement offices. The bill has yet to go to vote.”
“In February of this year, a law was proposed in South Dakota that would expand the definition of “justifiable homicide” to include killing those who present imminent harm to fetuses, which would legalize the murder of abortion doctors. A nearly identical bill was proposed in Nebraska a week after the South Dakota bill was shelved.”
“Dr. Tiller was shot, survived, went out and bought a bullet proof truck and vest, and they still killed him.”
Another stunning example of doubling down on stupid and losing not only your money, but your life on the instant replay.
King David once noted, “There is no glory in dying like a fool.” [or something close to that.]
‘Tiller the Killer’ qualified to be nominated for a Darwin Award.

“Where Evolution Hits the Pavement”
Just nomimated Tiller the Killer for a Darwin Award.
One of the qualifications is the recipient must be recognized posthumously.
While Tiller did not actually kill himself, his actions placed him at risk of death.
The bullet proof vest is proof that he understood full well the inherent danger of his avocation.
Yet he persisted after surviving one near brush with death.
His folly was in NOT protecting his head. [Kind of like Goliath.]
Tiller had already shared his genes, but perhaps his children may yet profit from his folly.
Are you guys serious? especially yor bro ken. How are you pro-life, you are rejoicing in the murder of a man!
George Tiller was gunned down in a CHURCH with his FAMILY in the name of GOD. You have implied time and time again that he got what was coming to him, how is that not condoning violence?
Yor bro ken, you defend Ralph Lang because he didn’t yet try to kill anyone. He said he said he intended to kill a man, yet you defend him because no shots were yet fired. WHAT. How is this pro-life ??? the fact that he thinks the answer is to murder abortion providers is sick sick sick
went out and bought a bullet proof truck and vest
Wow, those things are VERY expensive. But pay no attention to the man behind the curtain…abortion providers don’t make any REAL money, and do “the elective medical procedure” out of the kindness of their hearts, right?
Tiller was a barbarian and should be happy that Roeder didn’t water-board him in an alkanine bath and rip his limbs off before putting him out of his misery and jabbing him in the base of the skull with a Metzenbaum scissors so that he could suck his brains out.
Lana,
Did you read the whole article?
Lang did not commit a crime against anyone. He only expressed a willingness and a desire to so to the police.
None of the ‘dead babies r us crowd’ accused him of making any threats against them.
They only found out about Langs musings, after police spoke to the press and the press reported what the police say that Lang said.
Does that make the police and the press guilty of ‘interfering with a person’s use of a program that receives federal funds’?
The only crime that I could see that he committed was discharging a firearm in a public place, but all that I read indicates he did that inadvertently.
Lang should be confined and observed and examined by mental health professionals [not a CC].
It is good thing that the police got him off the street before he could act on his impulses.
I stated very clearly that murder is never a good choice.
I never ‘rejoiced’ in Tillers death, but I was just as relieved at the news of Tiller’s departure from the land of the living as I was when I heard the news that Osama bin Laden had been introduced to his 72 virgins.
I just pray that Tiller did not die in vain.
Osama bin Laden killed his thousands and Tiller the Killer killed his tens of thousands.
And pardon me if I don’t acknowledge your authority to define who is and is not a ‘pro-lifer’ or who is or is not a ‘christian’.
You have no point of reference to determine either one.
Not only does your moral compass not have a magnetic north, it has no needle to point the way.
I don’t know that I strictly consider myself “pro-life” anyways. I think “anti-abortion” is more accurate. The whole “pro-life” and “pro-choice” thing smacks of rhetoric anyways. (Especially “pro-choice.” Nobody is pro-choice in all cases, such as the choice to steal, rape, or murder. Stupid name really.)
Actually, I can give you some of your own medicine with that in mind.
you defend Ralph Lang because he didn’t yet try to kill anyone.
You don’t support his choice to kill another human??? How do you call yourself pro-choice????
See? Equally stupid.

…”No one has an Abortion committed on them… It is an elective medical procedure.”
==================================================================
Homicide is the killing of a human being by the act, procurement, or omission of another, death occurring at any time, and is either (1) murder, (2) homicide by abuse, (3) manslaughter, (4) excusable homicide, or (5) justifiable homicide.
”Abortion” means any medical treatment intended to induce the termination of a pregnancy except for the purpose of producing a live birth.
A fetal death means any product of conception that shows no evidence of life after complete expulsion or extraction from its mother. The words “evidence of life” include breathing, beating of the heart, pulsation of the umbilical cord, or definite movement of voluntary muscles.
The pre-natal child is the ‘target’ in an elective abortion. The formerly pregnant woman is NOT usually dead as a result of the procedure, but the intent of the procedure is to terminate the pregnancy ’except for the purpose of producing a live birth’ and the abortionist seldom fails.
Elective abortions are always ‘acts’ committed on the human embryo/fetus.
“The pregnant woman consents, though not always fully informed, but her prenatal child, though never consulted and never consenting, is fully informed of the violent act of abortion.”

“Did not find a single story where Ralph Lang was ever identified or described as a ‘sidewalk counselor”
Guess you didn’t look hard enough.
“The other information you should know: Ralph Lang is not a “lone wolf” or a “fringe member” of the antichoice “pro-life” community. He is a sidewalk counselor (read: harasser) and was arrested previously in 2007 outside of a Planned Parenthood. He was part of a Catholic prayer vigil (read: more sidewalk harassment) in 2006, at which time he said, “it’s nice to be a part of a movement like this.”
“A nurse at Planned Parenthood in Madison said she is familiar with Lang, and that she saw him outside the facility last week, according to the complaint. Lang was arrested in 2007 outside Planned Parenthood, telling an officer at the time that the “Bible states that anyone involved in abortion should be executed.”
“The only crime that I could see that he committed was discharging a firearm in a public place, but all that I read indicates he did that inadvertently.”
“Lang, who was arrested for reckless endangerment, told police that he had a gun “to lay out abortionists because they are killing babies,” the complaint saidLang told police that he planned to go to a Planned Parenthood abortion clinic the following morning to find the doctor who was doing the abortions and shoot him in the head, the complaint said.He was charged with attempting to injure and intimidate in violation of the federal access statute, according to U.S. Attorney John Vaudreuil …”
“In Lang’s motel room, officers found a U.S. map with dots in each state and handwritten words above the northern U.S. border that said “some abortion centers,” the complaint said. Also written on the map were the words “Blessed Virgin Mary says Hell awaits any woman having an abortion. Nurse or doctor who helps will one (sic).”
Lang has a paper trail:
“Lang has long been a crusader against abortion. According to the Marshfield News-Herald he’s penned at least 21 editorials that have been published in the paper. The most recent was published on February 11, 2011 and references the Queen of the Holy Rosary Mediatrix of Peace Shrine in Necedah, Wis. where the Virgin Mary allegedly made regular appearances before Mary Ann Van Hoof for more than three decades.
Lang’s other editorials are locked behind the paper’s pay wall, but they carry headlines such as “Hurricane Katrina is another warning of devastation if America doesn’t overturn abortion” and “Bible has answers on creation, contraception.”
Sounds like apart from the Catholicism, anti-abortion jihadist Ralph and Operation Rescue alumnus Ken are quite the soul brothers. I do hope that Planned Parenthood in Arlington TX has good security…
CC,
All those quotes are great, but they really are worthless without sources…care to provide any? And I have a question for you. One of my own personal beefs against Planned Parenthood is their disregarding of parental authority of unemancipated minors.
Why does Planned Parenthood seek out unemancipated minors to ingest their high dose hormones throughout their fertile years? In your opinion is it worth it for a girl to spend their lives ingesting birth control just in case they meet that one-night stand? I think our adolescent girls should be taught responsibility and self-control instead. Not that I am advocating one-night stands but they could just as easily use NFP and have that “one-night stand” on the last day of their monthly cycle and they would be just as safe or safer then having unplanned sex on birth control AND they wouldn’t need to subject their body’s biorythm to all those artificial hormones. Not to mention that Planned Parenthood has no business working for laws to remote parental oversight of our children. Why should they be given an exception. No other person (doctor or otherwise) is allowed to usurp parental authority like Planned Predatorhood does.
Planned Parenthood is an industry based entirely on Unplanned Sex and killing unintented babies. They really have nothing to do with keeping pregnancy or promoting a child. What a hypocritical name for their organization. They should be called The Unplanned Sex Kingdom” or something.
All those quotes are great, but they really are worthless without sources…care to provide any?
I linked to the sources one of which is Reuters. The arrest record is public information. And Planned Parenthood “seeking out unemancipated minors.” Nice bit of projection – as ridiculous as saying that the Catholic church seeks out women to force them to have babies. See where I’m going here. And BTW, Planned Parenthood services married women, too. It’s just not all those “slutty” women that you fantasize about. And unplanned sex has been around for thousands of years and in the USA is still legal. And those who have sex, should be able to plan whether or not their sex act will produce issue. That’s where Planned Parenthood and countless American gynecologists come into the picutre. And “injesting” birth control pills is not a health hazard, contrary to the agitprop of the anti-choice movement. Why should all American women be forced to use NFP? If Cathoics want to use it, that’s fine. But for the rest of us, there are other options – at least until the anti-choice movement gets its way and all articifical birth control will be criminalized.
CC,
Specifically, where did you get the quote that Lang was a sidewalk counselor?” You didn’t link to anything for that. And keep in mind that just hanging around at a clinic vigil, protest, etc., does not automatically make you a sidewalk counselor. You actually have to speak to the women going in for abortions to do that.
Lori, I would also like to see any links CC can offer to her insinuations of nefarious actions that occured at any of those prayer vigil he attended.
CC,
Why do you find the need to deny any side-effects in long term ingestion of hormones in high enough doses to disrupt a woman’s menstral cycle and stop her ovulation? Common sense says their would be many. I just googled it and found many. Lets tackle them one by one and see if you agree.
Many women have suffered mood swings and depression from taking hormones. Do you think that these mood swings and depression could be real?
“And Planned Parenthood “seeking out unemancipated minors.” Nice bit of projection”
CC, there was really no need to project there. They are fighting in courts throughout the US to prevent the implemention of parental notification of abortion laws. They fight for the right to enter schools and market their drugs to minors too. Look at all the marketing they do to kids. How are those facts a projection?
CC,
I am waiting for your response to why you feel the need to suppress/deny the negative side-effects of high-dose hormone ingestion over long periods of time. I’ll wait until tomorrow for you to respond to the “mood swing” side-effect. BTW – historically mood swings have been an admitted side-effect of steroids (hormonal cocktails). I hope you respond soon cause I have about a dozen more to cover.

“Did not find a single story where Ralph Lang was ever identified or described as a ‘sidewalk counselor”
CornuCopia,
In your defiant desperation you deliberately missed the point and went to Homerian lengths to do so.
No where in your hodge podge of quotes was there any mention of Lang being a ‘sidewalk counselor’.
Your bigotry is showing again and we cannot attribute it to the failure of the university to ‘educate’ you. It may indicate their indoctrination was succcessful.
[“We are all born ignorant, but one must work hard to remain stupid.’”Benjamin Franklin
‘”It may be that your sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.’”]
The articles you cited do tell us what Lang is accused of doing but no where do we find that he actually attempted to do it unless inadvertently discharing a fire arm is an attempted murder of a ‘door’.
Before the sherrif Dubnik in Phoenix went off on his tyrade about ‘language’, compelling Loughner to do what he did, the lawman instructed us in how difficult it is for law enforcement to prevent an individual from committing a criminal act, until he/she/it actually attempts to do so. ie, ‘pulls his gun’ and points it as someone’. Peace officers are not psychics. They are not tought police, nor as Sherrif Dubnik allued, do they want to be. I believe Dubnik commented on to the inherent negative consequences when it has been tried. [communism, fascism, etc.]
As soon as Lang violated a law, any law, they had legal grounds to arrest him and incarcerate him. In the course of their interrogation of Lang, Lang expressed an intent to commit an additional crime and had taken actions to do so. Then the police had more and better grounds to keep him in custody.
If Lang had threatened anyone and the police had evidence to prove the threat, they could have arrested him immediately.
I know this lost on you because you do not like it. It blows up the fantasy you have constructed.
But I doubt that it is lost on ‘reasonable’ people.
Lang is unbalanced. It is good that he is locked up. Murder is never a good thing.

Unplanned sex is almost always the best sex, if the wife and husband are both consentual/consensual participants.
The worst sex I ever had with my wife was still great, but I do not puport to speak for my wife.
Q: When do a wife and husband get too old to mutually enjoy sex?
A: I don’t know…..yet. I should live so long.

ContraCeption,
Thanks for reminding me. My youngest daugter is out of school and she is free to do a ‘sting operarion’.
She is pretty young looking. I believe she could pass as at least a 15 year old.
And she is a minority to boot.
That is pretty low hanging fruit.
It will be difficult for the predatory staff at PP to resist taking advantage of an apparently gullible child.
Should make for some very interesting video and audio.
Seems CC didn’t want to try and back up her assertion that contraceptives don’t have any negative side effects. Why am I not surprised?
