My top 5 favorite political cartoons for the week…

Case in point to the aforementioned, by liberal Tony Auth at GoComics.com…

In her attempts to refute/rebut Jills assertion that the world is NOT overpopulated Jessica at High on Quacks made her own assertion:
“While you are correct in your assertion in the many things that some/many/all “pro-lifers” are against,
1. there is not an overpopulation myth, and
2. there is not a crisis of not having enough population. I’m not sure if you are aware, but
3. there are nearly 8 billion persons on our planet, and we can’t sustain all of us at our current carbon footprint.”
=======================================================
The last two cartoons both deal with the associated topics of man made global disasters resulting in the end of the world.
Never mind that the ‘witches brew’ of ‘man caused global climate change’ has pretty well been shown NOT to be ‘science’ but more of a religious doctrine promoted by humanists who have already determined the world is overpopulated.
This is nothing new. And the humanist’s solution is nothing new, ‘depopulation’.
They even recognized Ghengis Khan for his contribution to ‘depopulation’.
Though Khan, may not have been a humanist, he was a barbarian.
Stalin, Hitler, Mao Tse Tung, Pol Pot, Kim Il Sung, all humanists, have killed more people than all the plagues, wars, famines and natural disasters combined, not including the hundreds of millions of pre-natal humans eliminated by the ‘dead babies r us’ barbarians.
But to these folks, enough is never enough.
[Evidently, mother earth, is incapable of natural family planning and she needs their assistance. A diaphram, IUD, tubal ligation, chemical sterilization forced abortion and even a hysterectomy are in order for the mother of all mothers who can’t control her reproductive urges. (see Genesis). Who would of thunk it? mother earth is a hyper-fertile nymphomaniac.]
But mother earth has demonstrated in the last few months she can take care of herself as far as pesky humans go.
Like my momma’s seemingly elastic arm that could reach any spot in the back seat of the car and deliver a smack to the unruly child, mother earth reached up from the depths of the ocean delivered a smack of her own that reached from the Japanese coast to the American west coast.
I am sure some ‘humanist chicken little’ has already attempted to attribute that earthquake and resultant tsunami to too much human activity on the planet.
Recently we have had some pretty severe weather in the United States. Tornados have wreaked havoc on some southern states and hundreds of our fellow citizens have been killed and billions of dollars of damage has been done to property and businesses.
This is nothing. I remember as a child we would drive the 90 miles to my grandparents house in Sherman, Texas and all along the way we passed thru farm country and nearly every farm house had a storm shelter. My grand parents had a storm at their house in town. People built those storm shelters because they experienced some severe weather of their own.
Then that season passed and people forgot about the severe weather and ceased to bulild storm shelters. Weather forcasting and communications improved. But even with all our advances in meterology, we can’t prevent the storms.
Consequently people are building storm shelters for the same reasons they built them 80 years ago.
But only the loons are absolutely sure this current cycle of severe weather is the result of climate change caused by the greenhouse gases that come from too much human activity from too many humans.
Humanists view this ‘excess’ population as parasites and weeds.
Some of these humanists believe the earth is overpopulated by ‘billions’.
Jessica at High on Quacks is one of these people.
When you challenge them to practice the gospel they preach and dig a hole and jump in it and recylce themselves they are never willing to take that leap of faith, but that are more than willing for someone else to make that sacrifice.
Everyone is dispensable but them and you are ‘full of hate’ for suggesting that they are non-essential personel.
Right, blame Obama (D) for the bad economy, the one that he inherited from Dubya (R), who ruined Clinton (D)’s excellent economy.
As for global warming, it’s a demonstrable fact and the scientific consensus that it’s happening. It won’t cause an apocalypse, but it’s a problem we need to address.
I like the first cartoon. I see it as her business before earth stewardship mindset. If the democrat party doesn’t become pro-life and I’m praying they do. If they don’t and she’s the only pro-life choice hopefully she has enough wisdom to be pro-earth and pro-business and in that order. Because when all that’s left is concrete and green spaces are far and few in between we will not only lose environmental treasures in doing so we will lose a part of who we are and resources we can’t afford to lose.
Nulono
So don’t blame Obummer but you seem to blame Bush? Obummer has raised the debt higher in 3 years more than Bush and Clinton. O has ruined everything he has touched. He is a horrid human and a despicable president.

Right………
Just as soon as we get ‘mamma earth’ fitted for an IUD, diaphram, and a female condom.
But the many breasted one may not be able survive much longer at the current rate of consumption of mother’s milk from her ample bosom.

OK. I be down for it.
But when does the economy become b o’s baby?
How long can you blame W without including the democrat majority who controlled both houses of Congress?
The president only signs or vetoes bills which are presented him. He has no direct legislative powers. If W signed into law, then it could not have happened without the democrats being complicit.
Constitutionally, every spending bill originates in the House of Representatives.
Let us see which party has controlled the House of Representatives the last 34 years.
Jimmy Carter 4 years dem cntrld House 4 years
Ronald Regan 8 years dem cntrld House 8 years and repub 0 years
George H.W. Bush 4 years dem cntrld House 4 years and repub 0 years
Bill Clinton 8 years dem cntrld House 2 years and repub 6 years
W 8 years dem cntrld House 2 years and repub 6 years
b o 2 years dem cntrld House 2 years and repbu 0
The dems have controlled the house of reps for 22 of the last 34 years.
and had a dem in the White House for 12 of those 34 years, but in 6 of the 12 years there was a dem in the White House there was both a democratically controlled House and Senate.
Co-incidentally these 6 years represent all of the Carter years and the first two b o years. Six of the worst years economically since the great depression, when consequently there were another two dems in the White House and the dems controlled both houses of Congress for all of those 20 consecutive years.
Sounds like dems have had some really bad luck. Bad things happen when dems are in office: The stock market crash, great depression, two world wars, the Korean War and the Viet Nam war. Dems must feel like the Chicago Cubs or the French army.
While a dem was president the Twin Towers suffered their first terrorist attack, the federal building in Oklahoma City was bombed, TWA flight 800 fell into New York harbor, the Branch Davidians were incinerated, etc.
Most notably, Elian Gonzalez, a 6 year old unarmed Cuban boy invaded the United States. Profitting by the bitter lessons learnd from the fiasco at Ruby Ridge and the daylight assault at Waco, Texas then U. S. Attorney General, Janet Reno, acting with the tepid approval of then President Bill Clinton commanded a pre-dawn raid againt a non-descript home in Little Havana, Florida where Gonzalez was thought to be holed up.
The 40 pound, 6 year old Elian Gonzalezbut was vanquished by Federal Agents wearing body armor and wielding automatic weapons after a fierce battle that was waged for more than two years. After being captured the would be terrorist was then forcibly deported under armed guard to the workers paradise of Cuba.
You just can’t let bad guys push you around. You have to make an example for all the world to see. Thank you Bill Clinton and Janet Reno for keeping us safe.
The stock market crashed on October 29, 1929 and the Great Depression, predicted by FDR in a 1923 letter to a Rhode Island attorney friend, followed immediately thereafter. Hoover was president.
FDR took office on March 4, 1933 in the depths of the depression.
I could talk about the economy here, having predicted the most recent crash and the causes of it, but I’m not going to do that. It’s a waste of time. Everyone here is caught up in their liberal versus conservative, Republican versus Democrat, left versus right schtick.
Enjoy your ignorance.
I have a hypothesis on global warming. I’ve mentioned it to a few people actually a lot of people and one very intelligent person listened so I’ll share it with you’ll. I think when astronauts go to space when they leave earth’s atmosphere and then re-enter the atmosphere that it damages the integrity of the atmosphere and makes it more vulnerable to the sun’s rays. A way to know if the hypothesis has merit is just to check our temperatures on earth after we started going to space. Hypothesis aside global warming is very real and statistics bear this out.
Hi myrtle miller,
Please research ”global warming”. You will find there is no consensus of opinion among climatologists that global warming is even occuring. Some actually argue the earth is cooling.
Also, climate change has existed since the beginning of time and will continue to do so. Factors such as the sun, earth axis, sun/earth rotation, precipitation, ocean current, etc. affect climate.
So too do such natural catastrophes as volcanic eruptions which make any pollution produced by man pale in comparison.
My dream ticket of republican nominees is Palin, Bachmann, Romney and Pawlenty. Please, please, please.
Mary!
You’re a nurse. Would you mind reading the May 27 Quote of the Day featuring the Salon writer that said abortion saved her life? Jill noticed some medical inconsistencies in the writer’s account, but perhaps your expertise could shed some light on what we/she are missing.
Let me know.
Thanks.
Greetings Mary
I’ll limit my research to some statistics NASA have. Temperatures and all that other good stuff proof enough for me. And alas the chemicals we put in the air have not existed since the beginning of time and many or bad for our environment and us. There are also statistics on the rate that icebergs are melting. Thankfully the
scientists keep records and the rate at which they are melting has increased. Bless them for their record keeping skills. Your continual denial of global warming seeing as how your brain works very well leads me to the conclusion that you are probably Republican and thus are not allowed to get too concerned about global warming. Just as those who are pro-life in the Democratic party have very little voice those who have environmental concerns have very little voice in the Republican party.
Reality: If the democrats don’t change their pro-death platform I would really like to see Doherty run. Planned Parenthood dislikes him intensely he must be doing something right.
mp,
I stand corrected.
FDR like b o, preceded a republican president and took office with an already bad and getting worse economy. Neither history nor herstory indicate FDR caused the Great Depression.
Are there any other errors that need correcting?
Myrtle,
The single biggest contributor to climate change is the sun.
The most easily observable proof is the climate change we go through every 12 months as we make our circuit around the sun.
At the same time increases in the earths temperatures were being recorded, increases in Mars temperatures were being recorded as well.
I know Neil Armstrong’s step on to the surface of the moon was one great leap for mankind, but I don’t think the stride was quite long enough to leave a carbon foot print on Mars.
Changes in solar activity are reflected in changes of temperatures on earth.
In the 70’s scientists were issuing warnings about global cooling and the possible on-set of another ice age.
My concerns are more immediate and are more within man’s ability to effect and control.
You just keep on keeping on.
The ONE who has brought you safe this far will keep you til the end and beyond.
Hello Mary,
Kudos to you.
Hi myrtle,
I’m afraid you limit your research to your own detriment, but that is your prerogative.
Personally I would love a little global warming where I reside. Between the cold and the rain, I haven’t even been able to scuba dive yet! We even had a frost warning the other nite!
Well hello Ken,
Thank you. Kudos to you as well. Gracious Ken, I think that you have forgotten that according to that great thinker, Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, astronauts did in fact walk on Mars and its very likely they disrupted the entire ecosystem of the planet after all.
yor bro ken
To procede means to come before and we have no way of knowing if President Obama proceeded a Republican president. And having a son with a disability makes me appreciate a lot of the policies set forth by Roosevelt. What would be really cool is if the Presidential candidates on both tickets were pro-life and come November Americans had some real choices.
Hello Carder,
How nice to see you here, its been a while. Thank you for referring me to this article. In reviewing it I must agree with Jill on any number of inconsistencies and situations that I know, having dealt with obstetrical emergencies, would simply not occur.
Was “abruption” her diagnosis?
Given she is losing blood and this has been diagnosed as an “abruption” there is no chance for fetal survival without immediate surgery. This is not an “abortion” situation and I can’t imagine a doctor refusing to operate for an abruption, which certainly poses a threat to the life of the mother, any more than he/she would refuse to operate for a placenta previa or prolapsed umbilical cord. That people would stand around with their fingers ups their noses during such a life threatening emergency is beyond my comprehension.
Like Jill, I would like to know when a lawsuit will take place, if for no other reason, than to protect other women from such appalling incompetence. Also what good would transfusions do if the blood is just pouring out of the patient anyway?
Like Jill, this story doesn’t wash with me. I’ll be charitable and call it grossly exaggerated. I’ll change my mind when I see documentation to the contrary. People can SAY anything.
Mary
It’s a fact that icebergs are melting at an increasing rate and it’s also fact that temperatures are increasing. What besides global warming do you think could be causing this?
Hi myrtle,
Its not fact, its disputed. Even if they are there isn’t squat we can do about it anyway.
Mary
No, it’s fact scientists keep records and records show that they are melting at an increasing rate. That’s how I feel in my spirit that it’s hopeless but that’s not true it’s only hopeless if we don’t act on what we do know. I’m not a scientist maybe one day but this is my observation. The scientific community the good ones anyway are very smart there just not good at using that intelligence to effect change. I’m praying about that though. Did you know it was a Republican president that passed the Clean Air Act. I think I got that right. Anyway there is always hope.
Another point Carder,
I all too well remember the hysteria over the “illegal abortion” death of Becky Bell so I tend to be highly skeptical of these undocumented tales of woe. How dare anyone be so insensitive as to question her grieving parents. I am convinced Becky’s parents believed this is how their daughter died, but they were grief stricken parents trying to make sense of a daughter’s very sudden and senseless death. However, review of the medical documentation proved otherwise.
Its entirely possible this young woman and her friends, who may have limited medical knowledge, sincerely believe what happened and how it happened. Again I want to see documentation. Like the situation with the Bells, people can say anything, especially when no one asks them to back it up. If you’re going to put it on the internet, then expect people to demand the documentation and be prepared to give it.
Hi myrtle,
Even if it is determined the icebergs are melting, which it isn’t, we can’t do anything more about it than we can earthquakes, volcanoes, or tsunamis. Nature is a force far beyond our control and comprehension.
Mary
Of course there are things we can do to help nature. We can make a reasonable attempt to reduce our carbon footprint. We can use our brains and say what can we do to preserve our rainforests. We have the intellectual capacity and the tools to work with nature. I think the biggest challenge is to convince big business that if there smart enough to be poor environmental stewards then they’re smart enough to be good environmental stewards. And we need to start thinking of ourselves beyond being citizens of a country and think of ourselves as citizens of our planet. So when we see the earth as our legacy when we are thrown baubles we might have the courage to stand up and the wisdom to implement plans that are more environmentally friendly. I think FDR’s contribution to land preservation was genuis.
So ken, you don’t think we should have introduced unleaded fuel and catalytic converters?
Hi myrtle,
“Carbon footprint” is a crock and a scam. The only way to eliminate CO2 is for every human and animal to stop breathing, which we’ve been doing for millions, maybe billions of years. CO2 is essential to plant life.
Certainly we can exercise good common sense. I’m as avid a recycler as the next person. I drink only water that has been through double osmosis to eliminate all the impurities possible. I clean with vinegar and water, its great and cheap too. Great for removing hard water stains. Use it instead of rinse solution in your dishwasher. Believe me myrtle, the planet will outlast us all, we couldn’t destroy it if we tried. After we are long gone it will be floating in space, giving us the finger.
FDR’s contribution to land preservation may have been “genius” but his putting American citizens in concentration camps and sending a boatload of Jewish refugees back to Nazi Germany wasn’t very nice. Also, some economists argue his policies prolonged the Depression and only WW2 got us out of it. Something my mother long maintained before these economic geniuses figured it out!
Mary
I didn’t say he was perfect; he made a lot of mistakes. When help was needed he acted. Which specific policies did he enact that you personally do not agree with?
The biggest fact about doing something about environment is the fact that we do not want to do anything about it!!! nobody wants to give up our tech commodities and the industry to produce it. if we really want to go green we have to become Amish or live like the natives as just one more piece of nature!!! we all know about hydrogen as a very clean fuel 100% recyclable, way to produce it safely, contain it, transport it and so on, but as anything else we are so naive to expect that any leader would do such thing. because few who are in power like to exercise that power!!
Hi Myrtle,
If you have an hour and twenty-three minutes to view this video, I would highly recommend it.
It’s very thorough, hence the length. But it’s worth every minute. It goes from the very beginning if this whole global warming issue.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uMFAhW_ZmV8
Carder
I will thanks. I took environmental science and had an excellent teacher but I’ll look at the video too.
mauricio
I think if a system were in place where businesses were rewarded by tax breaks for investing in green policies than change would take place quicker. I think business is the key to real change to lasting environmental changes. I also don’t see people giving up their tech commodities but I think the tech commodities could be made in a way that their would be minimal or zero negative environmental consequences when they are disposed of.
Years ago, when showing how icebergs are formed, they would show how glaciers reach the ocean, break off and go crashing down. Now they use that same stock footage and say: “Oh no! Look! The ice is melting and crashing down to the ocean!”
If you don’t like the weather, just wait awhile. It will change.
Hans Johnson
Go to this site and you’ll get more information on what scientists are recording presently. Nasa study shows ice sheets melting faster.
Mary
There is a difference between organic Carbon Dioxide and Fossil Carbon Dioxide. This site gives a better explanation than I can. http://www.eejitsguides.com
Hi myrtle,
I will agree he was a good wartime president, but economists will argue his control of the economy prolonged the Depression. He was good at convincing people he was doing something, even though the Depression dragged on. Ultimately WW2 ended it, not Roosevelt.
Hi myrtle,
Thank you for the info. How does one explain though the climate change that has occured time and again since creation? Certainly biofuels were not in use. In the mid 1200s a warming trend occured and people were ecstatic. More crops could grow, the weather was more tolerable. Suddenly a “mini ice age” occured. I believe it was due to a volcanic eruption.
What about volcanoes that have endlessly spurted the most poisonour pollutants into the atmosphere and beyond for billions of years and still do?
Just too many variables and factors myrtle and I think the human race gives itself too much credit.
Mary
Heres some more information. This is from wikipedia. The greenhouse effect was discovered by Joseph fourier in 1824, first reliably experimented on by John Tyndall in 1858 and first reported quantitatively by Svante Arrhenius. Svante Arrhenius without the encouragement of his parents taught himself to read at the age of 3. And by watching his father’s addition of numbers in account books, became an arithemetical prodigy. Svante Arrhenius greenhouse law reads as follows: if the quantity of carbonic acid increases in geometric progression, the augmentation of the temperature will increase nearly in arithmetic progression. Svante was not worried about the temperatures rising because he reasoned the population would have increased and with it warming, more food could be produced! Happy Memorial Day
Hello myrtle,
Thank you. Happy Memorial Day to you as well.
Climatologist disagree among themselves as to what factors even make up the climate and how and if change is even occuring. I would suggest you google “global warming is a hoax” and variations thereof. Many interesting articles. Global warming is in no way established scientific fact.

=============================================================
Both were good ideas. ‘Lead’ floating around in the air is not a good thing.
But what do either of those things have to do with man caused global climate change?
Even if it could be demonstrated that human activity has contributed to changes in the earths average temperatures, the earth, like the human body, has the ability to compensate for the changes.
I hate to think what it would be like if liberals had the means to manage the climate.
Now that would be a man made disaster of biblical proportions.
Mary
I appreciate you not agreeing because it always leads me to do research. I believed in the greenhouse effect before now I’m going to study it in more depth because it is very interesting. Have a blessed Memorial Day.
“Both were good ideas” – but dealing with mankind pouring copious quantities of carbon and other gasses into the atmosphere isn’t? Like we did with fluorocarbons?
“the earth, like the human body, has the ability to compensate for the changes.” – yes but in what ways, to what effect and what would the impacts and outcomes on our existing population centers, food growing areas and economic activities be? And the associated costs for us to deal with those effects?
Hi myrtle miller, 5:49PM
As always the gracious lady.
Myrtle, your response at 5:49 is the very definition of meekness (which does not mean, as many Bible translations suggest, being humble, but rather, being teachable). Many could learn that from you! God bless you & yours.
klynn73
And it’s not my true character my character leans more toward mercy. I love those that are meek though. My dad was for the most part meek and when I was little he always made a real effort to teach me so I think that’s probably when I am meek that’s where it comes from. A person that is truly meek or there spirit leans in that direction are usually very self-contained and they usually love order and their very patient. I had to learn and am still learning these qualities. I get my stubborness from him too. Thanks though for the compliment. Hope you and yours are blessed also and hope you have a wonderful summer.
