Oh, and let’s remember that the good congressman can’t remember if he ever took a such a picture. Well of course not, people take picture of their lower regions all the time.

I’m not certain about Weiner’s role in this, or if he even had one at all.
Having said that, the fact that Breitbart has now begun to backpedal the accusations he made on CNN suggests a great deal.
It does appear that an extreme right wing infowar cell left some fingerprints all over it.
If Anthony Weiner was indeed hacked — and the evidence is pointing that way — why on earth did he make such weaselly statements about “not having certitude” that the picture was not of him? Why not just say, “No, that is not a picture of me, and I have no idea who it might be”? It’s so bizarre.
JoAnna, I agree. He made things worse for himself. My theory: while he know he was hacked, he has taken pictures of himself in the past, and he can’t be sure that such a picture wasn’t stolen.
I suppose it’s also possible that it IS a picture of him that he gave to a girlfriend, who then gave it to the hacker in question, hence all the evasion. Which goes to show – don’t take damn pictures like that of yourself in the first place!

I agree you have very valid theories here. The question is why didn’t he report this “hacking” to to the police? Probably because he knew there was a picture out there of him that anyone could have gotten their hands on.
I agree JoAnna. It just teaches all of us to be careful what we take pictures of or videotape :)
I find the last one quite relevant because some of you leave me with the impression that you’d rather vote for an Idi Amin type character with an anti-choice platform than someone of the ilk of Ronald Reagan with even a smidge of a pro-choice platform.
Regarding the last GoComics offering by Don Wright – Who could blame God for meeting out justice? i.e. we tear our children up, so He allows our houses to be torn up. The discussion, of course, is does He or doesn’t He? If he sends rain on the just and the unjust alike (Mt. 5:45)…

@JoAnna: If he was hacked, I would guess the reason he isn’t saying 100% one way or the other is in case something surfaces that he actually did forget about. In that case, he can truthfully say that he never definitively stated anything and therefore did not lie about anything.

You are obviously of a far more charitable nature than I am as I find it hard to believe one would not know if one took a picture of one’s lower regions for whatever reason. I suspect his amnesia is very convenient. As I said I think Kristina and JoAnna have very valid theories. A picture he took for the enjoyment of some lady, or so he thought, got out on the internet. We’ve certainly heard of a few sex tapes doing the same thing. A familiar story and I agree with JoAnna that certain pictures are better left untaken.
Well I’ve just been to Drudge and it looks like our boy is getting deeper in the dodo.
Someone tell me, why is someone so stupid as to not realize that putting anything on the internet is asking for trouble? Test messages can be save, phone calls recorded, and ”private” pictures seen by millions.

Will wronged Huma Abedin take a cue from Maria Shriver, Elizabeth Edwards, and Lorena Bobbit and give Weiner the heave ho, or will she follow Hillary Rodham-Clinton’s lead, and ‘stand by her man’ in the hopes she may yet capitalize on this turn of the cards.
Nothing I have read indicates Huma Abedin has apirations for a political office, but if she plays the hand she has been dealt adroitly she could parley this public humiliation/victimhood into at least a book deal, perhaps a made for cable movie.
Marriage and the desolution thereof should not be taken lightly, but it would seem to me that any self respecting spouse would jetison a freak like this.

Oh Weiner… You should know that once you are caught you are caught. You should have just said “Yea that’s me, pretty impressive huh?” and explained to your wife what mistakes you made. Weinergate is hilarious. The way Weiner can look you in the eye and tell straight out lies. Makes me reminisce Stupak here. With liberals there is no truth and reality is stranger than fiction. Huma Abedin was an aide to First Lady Hillary-Rodham Clinton when the philanderer in chief was caught with his pants down and his cigar in the cookie jar.
Weiner and Abedin selected slick willie to officate at their wedding, about a year ago. [As Dr. Phil would ask, “Huma, how’s that workin for ya.”]
According to ‘tinkle down my leg’ Matthews, Abedin knew of Weiner’s exhibitionist fetish with a camera [maybe that’s how they met] before they tied the knot/jumped the broom [mazeltov].
Maybe Abedin, following Hillary’s cue, hitched her wagon to Weiner’s political star and committed to stand by her man in hopes she could be the next Senator from New York.
Evidently, Abedin made a decision not to be a ‘prop’ at Weiner’s mea culpa. We can only hope she didn’t show up because, unlike Hillary, she was not going to be ‘used’ by the man.

I am sure there are a few scenarios where this incident could be in some small part his wife’s fault too. That being said it is really his fault that this will affect his career. Had he just came out and admitted it in the beginning then he would just have to take his lumps from his wife and that would be the end of it but lying to protect her or hide it from your wife is not the way to go. People can still trust a man who is honest about having marital problems and how he deals with it, but to lie about it or try to cover it up with a lie calls his integrity into question about all aspects of his life including his career. I still think that Arnold Govenater has a whole lot more to answer for as he used money that was not his to cover up his child for 10 years…
Full Disclosure – I really like Mr. Weiner as a politician and law maker. I have found myself agreeing with his stance on most issues. I also like his grit when it comes to taking on the republican madness. I truly wish he had just come clean in the beginning…
