National Organization for Women co-sponsors DC showing of “Eggsploitation”
Well, this makes me happy.
The National Organization for Women is doing the right thing here, focusing on a very real reproductive injustice – the exploitation of young women for their eggs.
If you haven’t yet seen this compelling movie, here’s the trailer…

They’ll be following that up with a presentation at the University of Virginia School of Law, that same day at 7pm. Members of the public are welcome. http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=112738958839076

Wow, did it hurt to write that? It sure made me cringe reading it. :-p
Pleasantly surprised to hear about this.

No, they are not doing the right thing, because Eggsploitation is a grotesquely biased movie, that presents compensated egg donation as a dangerous and exploitative medical practice, when in reality few women are injured through egg donation, and most women who receive donor eggs have undergone the exact same procedure at least once, and often several times. Shame, shame, shame on NOW for being misled by a factually misleading movie whose “experts” are aligned with conservative religious forces that want to banish all reproductive freedom for women.
