New Stanek poll: Which GOP presidential candidate will be next to drop?
According to news reports, Rick Perry will drop out of the GOP race for president this morning. So you have gotten it right three times now. Who will be next? I have a new poll question up:
You’re now 3 for 3, having picked right on Bachmann, Huntsman, and Perry. So who do you think will be the next GOP presidential candidate to drop from the race?
Vote on the lower right side of the home page.
Here were the results of my previous poll…
If you voted, find your own brightly colored flag on either the U.S. or International map…
As always, make comments to either the previous or current poll here, not on the Vizu website.
Please let it be Ron Paul!

Yeah right Andrew – he’s in 2nd place right now.
It’s going to be Newt – look at all the drama coming out about his ex wife now – and he’s the low man in all the polls already.

Depends on what you mean by second place. If you mean polls in SC, I never trust the pre-election polls. If you mean current delegates, this morning’s announcement puts Santorum in second place.

I’m talking over-all.

Well national polls are even more misleading. It doesn’t matter what the nation thinks. It matters who wins in what states.

I didn’t say anything about national polls? But the time will come when we’ll see about them.

Oh sorry. You said over-all.

Yeah, “over all” not “all over” :P

Now the GOP candidate race is getting real!!!
The three ideologies within the GOP are becoming even more clear: social conservatism (Santorum and Gingrich), moderate pragmatism (Romney), and libertarian small government (Paul).
At the present moment, the race appears to me to be about these ideologies more than it is about any particular candidate. A fruitful and beneficial discussion about how the Party might integrate/unite these three ideologies would make for a very strong GOP candidate against Obama.
I personally think that social conservatism must lead the way, and be the foundation upon which the moderate pragmatism and libertarian houses must be built.

Beware the woman scorned! Gingrich should be next.

Its getting trickier now.
It’ll be either paul or gingrich. I think paul will hang in there because of who and ‘what’ he is. So probably gingrich. Although mrs gingrich could affect things.
I still think romney will win the nomination. It’s just a matter of whether he selects santorum as his running mate. I think the odds of that slowly slip away the longer the battle drags on.
What social conservatism would that be Tyler? How far back would you turn the clock? Women being handed aprons rather than voting slips? Inter-racial marriages banned again? Homosexuals being jailed?

Reality, there are two values that have a longer history than you can obviously imagine: it is the value to protect all human life and the bond that furnishes the world with that life. The values of life and marriage go back…hmm… since man first graced the earth…

The values of human life and, particularly, marriage have varied over time and between cultures.

Reality, you are correct as long you understand that there are two predominant cultures that have shaped the various generational and geographic cultures. These two cultures have completely different and opposing understandings of humankind. These two predominant cultures are the Culutre of Life and the Culture of Death. In the Culture of Life, life and marriage are valued while in the Culture of Death they are not valued.
Which of these two predominant Cultures are you promoting?

What utter rubbish. Is that the best your imagination can summon?

I imagine it will be Santorum.
Paul is in there to have his say and perhaps affect some part of the party platform; I doubt he ever really thought he had a reasonable chance to win.
I had thought Newt was somewhat the same way, i.e. he didn’t really want to be President, but was definitely keeping his name “out there.” Now I wonder – he was so fired-up after Iowa that maybe he internally said, “Screw it, I’m gonna go for the gusto.” His strong SC showing certainly has him with the momentum, at least in the short term.
