- Ethika Politika features a thoughtful, two-part essay by Millie Dasher entitled, “Why I Say No to the Pill.”
- At Live Action, Kristi Burton Brown notices a strange “Personhood for Women” petition on Change.org, which seems to be over-the-top snark only focusing on women’s “reproductive rights.” How tragically far modern feminists have fallen from the likes of Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B. Anthony, who abhorred abortion and viewed the ability to bear children as a privilege, not a burden.
- MommyLife shares an article on the link between abortion and subsequent premature births.
- Fletcher Armstrong compares doling out contraceptives to feeding bears:
We are told not to feed the bears, because it breeds dependency. They end up with the habit of coming to humans for food, and then they forget how to take care of themselves. They can appear friendly at first, but when you don’t give them what they want, they become hostile and dangerous. The greater the dependency, the more aggressive they become. Among humans, we call it Leftist Dependency Syndrome.
- Mark Crutcher writes on the attempt to minimize social issues during the political season:
Scripture talks about people who choke on gnats while swallowing camels. Make no mistake, this “drop-the-social-issues” chant is a textbook example of that phenomenon.
What we must never forget is that God is not going to judge America over unemployment rates, regressive tax policies, immigration laws or any of the other issues we deceive ourselves into thinking are so crucial. But if we continue to behave as if we can avoid His judgment over the slaughter of the unborn, we are presiding over the collapse of this nation.
It may not be politically correct to say this, but the truth is that if we continue down this path, we have no hope left. Not only is our destruction assured, it is well deserved.
- Canadian blog Big Blue Wave has posted a really snappy promo video for Canada’s March for Life, to be held May 10:

I get it. People are like dumb bears. Don’t help people or other animals, especially bears. It breeds dependency.
It’s inspired thinking.
Don’t retreat, re-load. Double down.

People not wanting more kids = animal-like anger! Lol, that’s ridiculous.

Jack, I’m pretty sure what he’s referring to is more of the “entitlement mentality” that people seem to be adopting toward free contraceptives.
Honestly, I’m cool with people not wanting more kids, as long as they’re not killing them or asking me to pay for their contraceptives. *shrug*

Exhibit 1: SGK vs ‘dead babies r us’ aka pp [or biting the hand that feeds]
Exhibit 2: missy Phluck vs Rush Limbaugh [republican war on progressive women]

This would be the more accuate analogy:
People not wanting children results in behavior like animals murdering and some casese consuming their own young.
or to put it more succinctly:
Humans are stupid.

“Honestly, I’m cool with people not wanting more kids, as long as they’re not killing them or asking me to pay for their contraceptives.”
The private sector is not objecting to the mandate. The insurance companies say that providing free contraceptive is cheaper than covering pregnancies (which my policy covers and I am childless by choice). The issue is the unfairness of non-Catholic employees of large Catholic employers having to pay for their birth control while their secular sisters don’t have to do that.

You two are both rather creepy, imo. :)

CC brought up the creepy (her usual contribution toward anything ken has to say), and now I’ll be deleting ALL the creepy.

I do believe this is the first selfless thought or deed that you have communicated.
I will nominate you for a Darwin Award for not contributing to the devolution of the human gene pool.

It’s alright Kel.
It is always a complete surprise to see what pops out of cc when her chain is pulled.
Kind of like an updated x-rated model of a ‘Chatty Cathy’ with algorhythmic response generator.

CeCe,
There’s absolutely nothing wrong with a young woman’s father speaking of his daughter’s chaste nature. There should be more fathers like Ken who give a darn about where their daughters are and whom they are with.

cc,
Are you like the armadillo who was jealous because a chicken demonstated it is possible to cross the road?
Why does the thought of someone else remaining chaste infuriate you?

cc,
I have no cause for pride or shame.
i am what i am and that’s all that i am.
I am proud of my kids, not for what I have done, but for what they are doing and for what they are not doing.

Your attitude towards vice reminds me of an episode I Claudius on BBC.
Claudius’ wife, call her 8, got into a contest with the most well known prostitute in Rome to see who could canoodle with the most men in one night.
It does not matter who won, only that all the spectators applauded her victory.
I choose to applaud virtue.

cc,
You are jousting with a fellow who barely graduated from a government high school.
Don’t resort to such amateurish attempts at insult.
A lettered professional such as yourself should be able to repartee with poetic brilliance.
