Pro-life video of day: Waiting period satire makes pro-life case
by Hans Johnson
The website Funny Or Die shows that sometimes no argument is necessary. Attempting to ridicule a waiting period to get an abortion in Utah, they show why it would be a shame to deny any child his or her life:

Has anything actually funny ever appeared on Funny or Die?
Wow, this video makes no sense. Seriously, if it is trying to make a case against a waiting period before abortions, it seems to me to be saying the opposite. Happy families, beautiful kids? Comparing the abortion waiting period to no waiting period to purchase firearms and kill animals? That seems Freudesque?
JDC, if it has, I’ve never heard about it.
Wow. If I didn’t know any better, I’d think they actually were making a pro-life PSA. That’s what a ridiculous attempt it was, IMO.
“If I didn’t know any better, I’d think they actually were making a pro-life PSA.”
Sssh, don’t tell them!
I’m with Jill. I’m so confused. It made no sense and was not funny.
However, go Utah! How novel, a waiting period. Makes it harder for abortion clinics to rush girls into having the procedure. I mean, in TX, there’s a 72 hour waiting period before you get married. Makes sense there should be a waiting period before you kill your child.
Makes sense there should be a waiting period before you kill your child.
Yeah, it should be 200 years though.
A Dale Carnegie colleague of mine spoke of her trip to London in the late 1960’s for an abortion. She enjoyed the sights, changed her mind and has a wonderful daughter. She did not regret the delay at all. What is the hurry. pro-aborts?
Of course, I suppose there’s some unintentional humour in how badly they missed the mark as far as the message being sent. Does that count as funny?
Only to us, JDC.
Johnny Carson got some of his biggest laughs from jokes that bombed. But I don’t think that was their intention. They think we’re the clueless ones for believing the sky is blue.
Didn’t Denise say something like this a couple weeks ago? :)
”They think we’re the clueless ones for believing the sky is blue.”
Because of this, in whatever humour there might be, the joke’s on them.
“Didn’t Denise say something like this a couple weeks ago? ”
To what does “this” refer, waiting periods, the Funny or Die video, something in one of the comments etc.?
I was referring to this exchange:

Not quite identical, but similar enough.

Thanks, my memory wasn’t being triggered at first, but now I see what you mean.
