Why Drew Barrymore named her baby “Olive”
I was three months pregnant, and they said, “Your baby is the size of an olive,” and [snapping fingers] that was it. We never looked back.
~ Actress Drew Barrymore, on how she came up with her now 10-wk-old baby daughter’s name, on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, December 20, as quoted by E! Online

Who said that Drew? They should have their medical degree stripped away. At 3 months the baby is NOT the size of an olive!
Sydney – send them to http://www.ehd.org so they can see for themselves.
I was just thinking how close the word ‘olive’ is to the word ‘alive’…
Drew’s baby is actually 10 weeks + 9 (months).
When I first heard this quote (somewhere else) I was thinking the same thing:
At 3 months (gestation), a baby is NOT the size of an olive. That just feeds the perception that, even earlier in the pregnancy, a baby is only a “clump of cells” if you think that at 3 MONTHS a baby is only the size of an olive.
I think the comparable food would be a plumb (or an avocado). Hold one in your hand.
BIGGER than an olive..obviously.
Yeah, I looked it up this morning when reading this quote, and a baby is the
size of an olive at 9 wks, but I liked her point…

Really glad the doctor didn’t say the size of a small cherry tomato. Tomato Barrymore sounds terrible. :-)
I am happy for Drew. For years she spewed proabort propaganda as if it were the greatest thing ever. Maybe now she will tone it down a bit.
She said 3 months, though, Jill. That’s 12 weeks.
Check that same source except 12 weeks instead of 9-
Although I read that somewhere else before.
