Undercover: Late-term abortion clinic completes abortions at Albuquerque’s Plaza Inn
How would you like to stay at a hotel where in the room next door an aborting mother was delivering her dead baby into the toilet, and where the abortionist came to complete the abortion and wrap and remove the dead baby?
Worse, how would you like to stay in a hotel room where a late-term abortion was committed the night before? Where a mother delivered her dead baby on your toilet, in your bathroom, with all the blood and body secretions that come with it? Where the abortionist had the mother lie on your bed to finish it? Do you trust a hotel to sanitize a room as a hospital would?
If you have stayed at the Plaza Inn in Albuquerque, New Mexico, both scenarios are possible.
According to a new undercover video released by Live Action, Albuquerque’s Southwestern Women’s Options late-term abortion clinic has a cooperative agreement with Plaza Inn to provide a discounted rate to aborting mothers as well as chauffeur service to and from the airport and to and from their appointments, which can stretch as long as a week.
Pick-ups from the airport are necessary “because people come from all over the country and all over the world to our clinic,” explained SWWO abortionist Carmen Landau to Live Action’s undercover investigator, “because in most places you cannot get an abortion after 24 weeks, so we see a lot of people who are pretty late in their pregnancy.”
This is because, according to Landau, “New Mexico has, uh, laws… they don’t have a lot of restrictions.”
Actually, New Mexico has no abortion restrictions, making it the “Wild West of abortion.”
And if Southwestern Women’s Options will abort all the way through pregnancy, this makes Albuquerque the capital of the Wild West of abortion.
But tomorrow Albuquerque citizens can change all that if they pass an initiative that would ban abortions in their city past the point babies are known to feel pain, 20 weeks.
It is bad enough that late-term clinics like Southwestern Women’s Options can and do commit abortions as far into a pregnancy as it wants, but seriously, how safe is it for a mother to deliver her dead baby seven, eight, and nine months into her pregnancy alone in a hotel room bathroom? How sanitary is it for the rest of us to use that same bathroom afterward?
The hotel doesn’t think it’s so safe. When asked by Live Action’s undercover investigator what to do if going into labor when the clinic isn’t open, the operator responded, “I think you wind up going to the hospital.”
Clinic staff recommended otherwise (beginning at 1:57 on the video)…
Really? This is disgusting. And where are the feminists?
In an effort to get abortion legalized, Ms. Magazine published a photo (against the family’s wishes) in 1973 of Gerri Santoro, who died alone in a hotel room in 1964 after an illegal abortion when she was 6-1/2 months pregnant.
The abortion industry has come full circle. Pro-lifers have always said back alley abortions never stopped – the shingle was just moved to main street. This is just that much more evidence.
But Albuquerque citizens can stop this madness in their community by voting YES tomorrow for a 20-week abortion ban.

This is just so wrong on a multitude of levels, it’s hard to know where to start.
What happens when one of these “stillbirths” goes horribly awry and the woman is hysterical and freaking out ? Does the operator on the hotel’s phone system send up a bellhop to assist ?
I’d love to know how many of the hotel’s patrons are aware of what could be going on in the adjacent room. Maybe it’s in fine print in the brochure.
Time to boycott this place.
And if they do look in that toilet and see their baby?
The “helper” on the phone will say what exactly? ”Um….derrrrrrrrr….I TOLD YOU NOT TO LOOK!!!”
The “icky” factor is over-the-top here.
But I am even more overwhelmed at how these women-patients are being treated. A professional military torture/interrogation during the Bush/Obama era does not achieve the level of discomfort, terror and indignity that these women are paying to endure.
Not to mention the serious medical risks, like hemorrhage and retained placenta to name a few. Hopefully the woman recognizes she may be in serious trouble.
Is there a Health Dept? Does the hotel meet standards of sanitizing and cleaning after a patient has bled on the mattress, bathroom floor and in the toilet? HIV and hepatitis anyone? Does the staff cleaning up know how to properly protect themselves?
I wouldn’t want to be in the next room, heck I wouldn’t want to sleep in that room. How many unsuspecting guests have slept in improperly sanitized rooms?
This is beyond appalling.
Don’t forget the housekeeping staff that has to clean up this horror.
My grandmother was “the help” so I’m sensitive to such things.
Any news on the polling?
This place seems creepier than the Bates Motel.
Boycott and tell em why!!!
“Any news on the polling?”
I don’t think anyone has done any polling since the off-cited one months ago. This was before all kinds of money started pouring into the campaign, so it’s unclear if those numbers still hold now.
Omg where to begin. I didnt know the family of Gerri Santoro didnt give permission for this photo to be published. As far as the legal photos go…whats changed? Its a do it yourself abortion with telephone instructions. How nice. Why dont these goof ball feminists stop already? Just like they ranted and raved about Indiana teen Becky Bell dying from an illegal abortion…” record screech “!!! Becky Bell died from pneumonia…ive read the on line coroners report.
The Santoro daughters asked ” How could they do this to our beautiful mother?” Meaning to publish this picture. Sad to say later on the daughters did start to attend the “March for womens lives.” to defend legal abortion. Again to protect their mom.
Thank you Mary for your post at 12:31pm. This is so sick and unhealthy on so many levels and as a healthcare worker it gives me the shivers to think of all of the potential complications to the woman, of course the death sentence for innocent babies along with the potential risks of unsanitary conditions in this room to other hotel guests. What does NARAL, PP and Emily’s List femi-nazis say? “Abortion, no apologies, no restrictions”. They are definitely the “Dead Babies R Us” mob. God help us. Please pray for this initiative to pass.
Hello ProliferL
Thank you for you comment. Its always good to see you here.
BTW, I saw on the NRL website the very long list of medical organizations that support not only board certification for surgeons and physicians performing procedures in outpatient clinics and surgery centers, but admission privileges at local hospitals, or pre-arrangement with a physician with admitting privileges should a patient suffer complications.
This list ran the gamut from dermatologists, podiatrists, plastic surgeons, eye surgeons, etc.
Does anyone howl that this violates anyone’s right to have a medical procedure done? That someone’s “Constitutional rights” are being infringed on? The Constitution doesn’t anything about abortion, like it doesn’t say anything about foot surgery, but that’s beside the point.
So why is it too much to expect abortionists to be board certified with admitting privileges and why are third world practices like this permitted?
Hi Mary good to see you here as well. No other medical industry that I know of except the abortion industry wants to get a total pass on every common sense safety measure for women. Yes they really “trust women” and “care” about women. Does Kermit Gosnell come to mind? Does Tanya Reeves at PP in Chicago come to mind? (She was left lying at PP for 6 hours to bleed to death before an ambulance was called and then it was too late by the time she reached Northwestern Medical Center when she was only minutes away from them).
I’m wondering if Christin Gilbert’s(teen with Down syndrome who died following a late-term legal abortion) death got as much publicity as Becky Bell’s. I know Becky’s was before the Internet so it might be hard to compare, but due to other factors, I’m personally guessing no.
Also, why did her parents insist on an abortion, I read they didn’t know she was pregnant until she was seven months along but because of that, couldn’t they have maybe put her on bedrest* during the remainder of the pregnancy or something like that, then placed the child for adoption or adopted it themselves? (I’ve known people with Down Syndrome who do many more things then it seems to be stereotyped that they can, but I don’t know about raising a child.) Plus, if Christin had survived, isn’t it possible she would have been far more emotionally scarred by the abortion then she would have childbirth?
*I’m not a doctor, but I do know that many people with Down Syndrome have heart conditions so I guessed that she might have needed this if the baby was to be born.
