(Not so) pro-life vid of day: Comedian Tosh mocks abortion, pro-lifers
by Hans Johnson
Alleged comedian Daniel Tosh did a take-off of a commercial that showed a couple arriving at a clinic for an abortion. (His sister-in-law is the CEO of the Orlando Planned Parenthood.) The over-the-top depiction of demonstrators was seriously undercut by the couple’s cavalier attitude:

That’s really what Tosh does, is attempt to be offensive particularly towards right wingers. He’s like a less talented version of Family Guy (old Family Guy, new Family Guy sucks).
I find it hard to get outraged about comedians who do stuff to get attention because part of a comedian’s job is hyperbole. Especially stuff like South Park and Daniel Tosh, I mean it is pretty much intended to offend people.
Just like when people got all upset about SNL skit about sarah palin. I mean, guys, that’s what they do. that’s the point.
::shrug::
Here are my thoughts:
Way to perpetuate a stereotype and fan the flames of a backlash against pro-lifers. I already get enough hate coming my way from abortion supporters just by standing there quietly praying on the sidewalk.
It is interesting that he uses the words “Let’s get that human baby out of you.”
Daniel Tosh lives in his own reality.
I stopped watching his show a long time ago because of the crude humor.
“I find it hard to get outraged about comedians who do stuff to get attention because part of a comedian’s job is hyperbole. Especially stuff like South Park and Daniel Tosh, I mean it is pretty much intended to offend people. ”
Yeah, I mostly roll my eyes when it’s a particularly ridiculous stereotype like this one, but I find it difficult to get worked up over what some comedian does.
Though I will say, I think Tosh has the smuggest, smarmiest looking face ever, I can’t stand it. He’s got a constant “please punch me” look.

Agreed. hence, I don’t watch his show. I personally find him annoying and grating. But I’m just saying that’s the persona he’s created so I don’t really get offended because he is just an offensive little twat in general. so he said something about prolifers. why are we shocked at this?
Yeah he’s not very talented in my opinion. I’m fine with offensive humor if it’s actually funny and witty! Like South Park. And I liked Carlin, and a whole bunch of other comics. Tosh simply isn’t talented enough to get away with it, lol.
lol yeah I find a lot of episodes of SP funny. And I freaking love SNL. And I laugh really hard and loud at kid movies. ;) I had tears rolling down my cheeks at despicable me 2.
I cannot imagine in what sort of emotional space one would have to dwell in order to find this funny.
Would Robin Marty laugh at this? Or Amanda Marcotte? Would Reality or Blue Velvet or any of the local trolls laugh at this?
Let’s suppose that someone enjoys the mocking portrayal of the pro-lifers. Maybe even a snicker at Tosh as the getting-lost-quick loser boyfriend. Is there any humor left after one look in the anguished face of the young mother?
Abortion is un-funny.
One of Tosh’s family members runs an abortion clinic, as reported here, so that’s the emotional space he lives in.
Nah, he said people, and he went on to complain about the (false assumption) that men are usually the ones against abortion. It was a stupid bit. I treat Carlin like I do any comic, I skip the stuff I find personally offensive and laugh at the rest. :)
@MoJoanne — Pretty sure he said “Let’s get that demon baby out of you.”
Is abortion a serious decision? Between a woman and her doctor?
OR is it freaking hilarious and the best fodder Tosh has?
You can’t have it both ways proaborts.
“@MoJoanne — Pretty sure he said “Let’s get that demon baby out of you.” ”
Yeah, that’s what he said.
One thing I do appreciate about Toshy is that he does always make himself look just as terrible as the people he’s making fun of (in this case, us). He does it deliberately, he likes to play the stereotypical d-bag. How much he’s actually “playing” is up for debate.
I wouldn’t expect us to be outraged by this attempt at comedy. Abortion is outrageous enough on its own. But like Carla pointed out, it just illustrates the schizoid thinking of the pro-aborters.
I don’t find him particularly funny, but I don’t think that this skit necessarily matches his own beliefs. Most shows have writers (I don’t know if he’s the sole writer, I doubt it), and producers who have control, as well most (good) comedians are willing to mock and offend a wide range of people, liberals and conservatives. I haven’t seen any political clips from him, so I can’t say, but I’ve seen a lot of shoes that pick on everyone, which is the right away to go.
His show seems slightly biased liberal to me, but he does hit everyone eventually. He does end up making liberals mad with his jokes about gay people, women, race, etc. Mostly though, he makes fun of people who post videos on the internet of themselves doing something he finds funny.
I stand corrected. Demon baby makes more sense coming out of Tosh.
Two years from now no one will even remember this guy and he’ll be a waiter somewhere.
Just shows tosh.0 is a moFo-
On that note, he has been open about talking several girl’friends’ into getting abortions… also: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cy2gU71ojyQ
He just seams to be growing in popularity. I really do hope your 100% right on with that prediction, but the fact of the matter is that 60-80% of America’s male population is addicted to porn which desensetizes men against feeling any sence of compassion towards a suffering female, if she’s luck, and if not, he may even be more inclined to kick her when she’s down, because porn teaches men, ‘it’s ok, dude, she wants it.’ And that’s alot of the male population. In fact, if it weren’t for porn, I honestly doubt abortion would have ever of been a figment in the minds of 20th century Americans. A priest told me that man didn’t fall from grace after eve bit the apple. Adam was the original gardener and he was supposed to caretake of everything in it. This priest told me, man fell from grace, and only then, when Adam bit into the forbidden fruit. The good news is that when Christ was resurrected, and Magdalen thought he was the gardener, He WAS the new Adam! And what’s important for women to remember is that Christ is the only male we’re being help accountable to, not Adam, and certainly not sad little men like TOSH.
