Obama uses the “Chicago Way” to illegally force taxpayers to fund abortion
Four of Illinois’ last seven governors ended up in prison for corruption convictions ranging from bribery to racketeering.
And that’s just the tip of the iceberg in the state ironically known as the Land of Lincoln.
I doubt people truly grasped the meaning of the “Chicago Way“ when they joked back in 2008 that Chicago politician Barack Obama took it with him to the White House.
But there are now plenty of examples of a lawless president who lets nothing stand between him and his agenda, which includes destroying political opponents and foes alike.
Along the way Obama has also betrayed plenty of friends – Democrats, unions, immigration advocates, and even his pastor, to name just some.
But there is one friend Obama has never, ever let down - abortion, and more specifically, America’s #1 abortion provider, Planned Parenthood.
Obama was willing to shut down the federal government for Planned Parenthood, and he has circumvented several state governments to keep Planned Parenthood’s funding stream undammed.
Obamacare was always anticipated to hand Planned Parenthood a flood of new money through government funded contraceptive sales and sexually or gynecologically related menial healthcare. Other perks have come by surprise, such as HHS bestowing Planned Parenthood a combined total of over $1 million in 2013 and 2014 to help citizens “navigate” Obamacare.
But Obama always denied Obamacare would fund abortion, even though everyone, including Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards and Obama’s former chief-of-staff Rahm Emanuel (now mayor of Chicago) saw through the ruse.
Now, the ruse is up, although what difference will it make? Obama will continue to flout the law to subsidize abortion with taxpayer dollars, which both pro-lifers and abortion supporters know was always the goal. The Washington Examiner explains:
Again and again, during the congressional debate, Obamacare defenders promised: Obamacare subsidies won’t subsidize abortion; customers will be able to choose insurance plans that don’t cover abortion; Obamacare subsidies, if they want to pay for abortion coverage, will be billed separately.
A new GAO report shows that Obamacare is failing on these counts.
Warning of “bogus claims spread by those whose only agenda is to kill reform at any cost,” for instance, President Obama told Congress in 2009: “And one more misunderstanding I want to clear up - under our plan, no federal dollars will be used to fund abortions, and federal conscience laws will remain in place.”
Nebraska Sen. Ben Nelson (now a healthcare lobbyist) became the 60th vote for Obamacare after supposedly winning a compromise from his party on abortion coverage. Nelson explained it this way:
If you are receiving Federal assistance to buy insurance, and if that plan has any abortion coverage, the insurance company must bill you separately, and you must pay separately from your own personal funds … for that abortion coverage.
The new GAO study shows that, instead, taxpayers are subsidizing abortions. Customers in five states have no abortion-free plans available to them, and in many states, customers can’t tell which plans cover abortion and which don’t.
What can be done?
Nothing without a Republican-controlled Senate. The House passed HR-7, which would eliminate abortion funding in Obamacare, but Democrat Senate President Harry Reid won’t take the bill up.
Congress could impeach Obama, but a Republican Senate is needed for that as well, and the GOP may be too chicken to bring Obama’s chickens home to roost.
Even then, would Obama sign such a bill? Based on his history of supporting abortion to the point of infanticide, I doubt it.

URGH! I still can’t figure out why most of my fellow citizens could NOT see that Obama was going to bring the “Chicago Way” to Washington. They really thought somehow he was above all that. Face palm, shake head, groan from my depths!
I unloaded the best I could on my Congressional rep (5th district) in 140 characters or less, who tweeted support for and a picture of him signing a letter of support to repeal the Hyde Amendment. Guess what’s coming next.
Administration has said that information is going out to insurers to follow the law.
This would all be much easier to maintain, track, and enforce with single payer healthcare. Instead, you have to leave it to companies to comply with a law. This post is oddly written – the insurance companies are the ones that have taken the law and ignored it.
No Ex-GOP, single payer means further federalization of abortion, and greater power to threaten those who oppose it. How can you honestly trust a federal government that lets veterans die, that wields the IRS like a campaign committee, that couldn’t pour water out of a shoe if the instructions were written on the heel, with your medical care? Have you not been paying attention? It baffles me, just like Gace wondering why people were so willing to listen to empty rhetoric and not track records.
Of course the information is “going out.” Wow, that’s authority right there. When five states and dozens of insurance companies join the President in breaking the law, do you honestly expect this corrupt, abortion-loving administration to lift a federal prosecutor’s finger? Me, absolutely not. But a hobby store refuse to purchase IUDs for employees? Oh you better believe there will be hell to pay and Eric Holder himself will fly out to their corporate office to deliver the fine.
John Edwards was right, there are two Americas, but not the two Americas he was thinking of.
“Administration has said that information is going out to insurers to follow the law.”
If this statement were not a lie, one would wonder, why NOW, instead of three or four years ago?
Forcing health care professionals to provide abortions, and forcing women to accept abortions will be so much easier with single payer healthcare.
Yes, Obama is a stinker. But let us Always Keep In Mind —
We have peacefully and successfully defended our religious freedoms and conscience rights against tyranny.
We have passed more pro-life legislation than ever before during the most pro-abortion president ever.
We have outed and accused, prosecuted and shut down more quack butcher abortionists than ever before.
We have seen growth in numbers and enthusiasm of our pro-life movement. We have seen a steady shift in public opinion toward pro-life and restricting abortion.
Pro-life Americans have thrived on our opposition to the tyranny of Obama.
Del –
How is Obama the most pro-abortion president ever when we’ve seen declining rates of abortion? If somebody told me that a president was the most of something, I’d expect legislation and numbers to match. I don’t see it.
Can I start calling Obama the most caring president of the middle class ever, even though I don’t have stats or legislation to back it up?
Chris
It’s pretty simple logic. In a world with lots of payers, you have to control lots of payers. With one payer, you need to control one payer.
Pharmer –
Information did go out years ago – not sure if you had seen, but an entire law passed, with text. Some folks haven’t followed that law, and clarifications have been sent out.

What planet have you been on? Obama went so far as to threaten the shutdown of government if PP didn’t get every penny of their subsidy in the Budget. He threatened to cut every federal dollar from Indiana’s Medicaid program if PP didn’t get full funding in Indiana. He made direct federal payments to PP in New Hampshire when that state defunded Planned Parenthood.
Obama publicly promised PP that he would sign the fed-funded abortion act, first thing.
We spanked Obama with a Republican House and defied him every step of the way. Obama is still the most pro-abortion ever, but he has not been effective at it. We have frustrated him.
Can I start calling Obama the most caring president of the middle class ever, even though I don’t have stats or legislation to back it up?
No. You need some evidence that he at least proposed some legislation that would clearly help us in the middle class. Or perhaps some polling evidence to indicate that the we strongly support him.

Planned Parenthood performs lots of services, and their were those saying that Planned Parenthood shouldn’t be compensated for services that have been legal for years and years. If congress wants to outlaw abortion, do that. If they want to pass a law that says Planned Parenthood should be outlawed, do that. But if there are things within medicaid or medicare that are legal services, and a facility performs those legal services, they should be compensated for it.
Fed funded abortion act – so his position, not his actions make him the biggest abortion president?
It’s just a lame title – again, abortion rates have gone down. There hasn’t been a single law passed or on the table at the federal level that would have done anything to the rates plus or minus 20%. I threw this exercise out to a bunch of folks a couple weeks back, and people were drawing blanks.
Hey, if it makes you feel better, use the title. It just isn’t back by much fact if you ask me. But I think you care about the facts less and less these days.
Republican politicians do not in general want any substantial further restriction of abortion – it would render them without a substantial portion of their “natural voting base.” They want it to remain just as it is – where a portion of the electorate will vote for them pretty much no matter what.
