Raoul Wallenberg and AHA
AHA opposes the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act (HR36).
And during this time, we’ve passed over 200 so-called “pro-life” laws, but they all discriminate in one way or the other, against our neighbors who are still in the womb. As Christians, we have absolutely no business abandoning any of our neighbors….
Take a comparison: During WWII, Raoul Wallenberg made heroic efforts to save as many Hungarian Jews as he could. And he succeeded in saving upwards of 100,000 Jews from the gas chambers.
But by AHA logic, Wallenberg had blood on his hands. His efforts were “discriminatory.” He only tried to save Hungarian Jews. And even then, he was only able to save a fraction of the Hungarian Jewish population.
By AHA logic, he “abandoned” other European Jews. By AHA logic, unless he had a strategy to save every European Jews, he ought to refrain from saving any European Jews. Let the Nazis kill them all.
By AHA logic, Wallenberg should have made hoodies, beenies, lapel pins, and T-shirts with inspirational slogans instead of issuing protective passes to Jews and creating safe houses for Jews.

Right on target, Jill. I thought of Wallenberg as soon as I heard the Pain-Capable bill had been pulled.

We need to stop fighting each other.
It is not a matter of either/or. We need both abolition and incrementalism.
We need to make it clear that we are fighting to protect all lives from abortion and euthanasia. We are opposed to any denial of fundamental human rights for any reason. Human persons who are deemed to be less than human persons based on age, handicap, gestational development, mode of conception, illness, immigration status, gender, religion, ethnic origin — we oppose this, in all cases. “A person’s a person.”
Meanwhile, we will take advantage of every small step possible to save any life. We will encourage improvements in our social conscience and laws, even as they still contain flaws. Every life we save persuades one more person to save one more life.
Let’s stop fighting one another. Let’s pass the good laws as we all demand better ones.

Same with the Underground Railroad. If they couldn’t free all slaves and end the evil of slavery, then they shouldn’t have wasted their time and energy helping only some to escape.
Wallenberg did what everyone should have done, and tragically did not.

This is not correct. AHA, I think from what I have read, if they saw 10 Jews from Hungary and 1 from Greece, would have tried to saved 11 Jews. So, I am certain would have Wallenberg if he were able. A more accurate description is they are that pain in the a** bunch that won’t break open the bottles until all abortion is abolished. Remember when Saul swore by God that whoever stops to eat anything before all the Philistines are routed will be put to death. Jonathon, Saul’s son, had dipped his spear in honey and strengthened himself. Open the bible to 1st Samuel if you do not recall the rest of the story. Both were Israelites defending their nation.

I will not eschew AHA’s efforts, and if I look deep, any victory that would abandon a child conceived in such adverse conditions leaves a sour taste in my mouth. Even so, I will take a breath, thank God, and continue the good fight.

David that makes no sense. No child will be “abandoned” by the pain capable act. Presently, all unborn children are vulnerable to execution under the law. New prolife laws progressively swoop more children to safety. ex., next will be a woman’s right to know act, swooping in those who are riding the fence. We are tightening the noose on the abortion industry one notch at a time, because reality dictates our limitations on the legislative front.
You guys seem to be good on the personhood front. There are lots of roles to perform in this effort, and you should pick one and let the rest of us keep fighting.

Did Raul save these Jews by legislative acts, or did he save these Jews by daily acts like those being taken by Abolitionists all across the country?
This is a very dumb argument and straw man of abolitionism.
Of course it will fool people and discourage them from unifying with abolitionists and keep them doing and thinking the same things they’ve been doing and thinking for the past 40 years, but it will not fool those who actually go look into what AHA actually stands for.

Jill, do you ever tire of purposefully misrepresenting Abolitionism?

The 20 week act seems to put a higher value on human lives after 20 weeks of pregnancy, while writing off those under 20 weeks. Are not ALL of these lives equally as important in the eyes of God? Then how can we say that just because they can feel pain, somehow their life is more important than those who cannot feel pain?
AHA abolitionists value all pre-born human life, at all stages, and are against passing mere regulations due to the fact that these regulations are easily danced around by the abortion industry, and enforcement of these regulations seems a bit lacking.
Abolitionists desire the immediate abolition of all abortion just as anti-slavery abolitionists sought the immediate abolition of black slaves. I do not understand why those in the pro-life movement are so against abolishing abortion now instead of later?
We need to ask ourselves how God views the efforts of both groups, and see how these efforts measure up to His Word. Is saving some good enough? Are we being the Salt and Light Jesus called us to be? What does God say about standing up to evil is society? What about the lukewarm American Church?
I think that with close enough examination, AHA is doing more Biblically to end the killing once and for all, than the wealthy pro-life leadership has done in 40 plus years.

Lee,
I do agree with you. We must do what we can today and keep moving forward. Still, it is not like we are “swooping” a net into the water and seeing what we gather. I know, and so do you, that children conceived by rape or incest or some other difficult situation are being left unprotected after 20 weeks because this is what we can accomplish today, not because they have a lessor value than any other child.

William Wilberforce had two (2) goals in mind during his political career. He sought to [suppress] slavery, which occurred in stages. He also worked to [reform] the morals of society.
He spearheaded the effort which successfully ended the trans Atlantic slave trade. Slavery (as in owning slaves) was not abolished until 30 years later.
By working so hard to pass legislation that outlawed the trading of slaves, did Wilberforce show disregard or abandon for the slaves already in ownership?

T Russell Hunter–I read what you posted on your facebook page. That Jill wants babies to keep dying because she loves her power so much? You wanna whine about people misrepresenting abolitionists? No one has misrepresented you. You folks are your way or the highway. Either do things your way or ALL BABIES CAN DIE. Then you pat yourself on the back feeling morally superior.
I think a woman who actually HELD a dying aborted baby wants to see abortion end, probably even more so than you since it affected her so personally. That you disagree on tactics is okay. you go do your thing and we’ll do ours. And God bless ya–I hope you save lots of babies. But stop trying to be the wrench in the spokes of the pro-life bicycle! You guys do nothing but tear down other pro-lifers. In that regard you’re very much like your nemesis Abby Johnson. Lets all stop fighting, realize we have different approaches and thats OKAY and just fight against abortion the way God leads us to.

Lee,
Did Wilberforce spearhead legislation to end the slave trade for all but slaves from a small island country? This is what this legislation does.
I say again, if I could have this or nothing, I would take this. Still, I cannot reconcile the logic of legal abortion after 20 weeks for a child conceived in rape, but illegal for others. This logic is flawed. Does a child conceived in rape feel less pain than any other? The bill was removed from the docket to loosen this exception. I would prefer it be tightened. That would, in my opinion, be an improvement to the bill. I will lobby my representatives in the Congress and the Senate to just that end. If the matter goes to the supreme court, all the better. That is where the overall question must be resolved.

Do AHA members believe the birth control pill causes abortion?

The plan B is the new condom. When these commercials hit the air, it was America’s last nail in the coffin. Who ever opposes limiting the distribution of these pills in any way shape or form is going to save women, babies, and families.
Rand Paul should sign the life at conception act. I know this is a little off topic, but I think after what he said about it, it would be an appropriate message to send out to young people and especially young women who are under immense pressure to succumb to the taking of this pill. Who knows how many of these nasty little killers have been crushed up and put into women’s drinks. Rand paul said he was not against birth control when he was asked about these things, however, now that these are all over the place, thanks to Obama and his voters (or those who did not vote republican) we are stuck with countless atrocities taking place throughout every single community, every hour of every day. Yes, there are more abortions taking place than ever.
The thing about the pain capable bill that was awesome is that it created awareness more than anything. Children in-utero feel pain. Maybe this is obvious to many, but women who are being suffocated by a wall of overwhelming opposition to the sacred life within their sacred bodies, by people who should be telling them to dismember or poison their child, need things like the Pain Capable Protection act to make up the difference. It also points out to other women who are under pressure to buy Plan B the morning after, that their is support for their decision to keep life, and protect it. It is an empowerment issue, and sadly, this time, AHA has crossed the line officially into the urbane, and over into the dark side. They are now on the same team as Rand Paul, telling women that it’s not good enough to protect, unless it’s defending THEIR, the MEN’S agenda. Okay, AHA ladies, I’m ready for you!
Oh, and did I mention the Pain Capable Bill saves babies? Some women would actually be relieved by the simple fact that this would stop some parents and boyfriends, NOT ALL YES WE GET IT, but SOME from sending them into the mill and into the stirrups, to get their “problem solved”. A problem they would much rather choose to be loved for (A LOVE THEY CAN BE PROTECTED FOR CHOOSING), than hated. DON’T HATE PROTECTIONS. LOVE THEM, THEY PROTECT.

lol-oh, I meant to say in the first line of my post; “whomever, opposes distributing” (not “limiting the distribution of”, as I had previousely erroneously typed. Escuse moi! My bad. :( lol … yeah, I think that is right.
And also, don’t you think crushing the effective efforts of other pro-lifers is a power play, and not a humble effort to end abortion? I have gotten drug into this fight, and I am proud to be here, but I also can recognize that it is a spiritual battle as well. Without love, it is not a battle that can be won, and the search for truth is a humbling one. It means we start the day, and end the day on our knees, hopefully in gratitude before God, and not enslaved to the world.

If you look at the reason the PCUC Act did not pass, you can see clearly the hand of the demonic at play. It was shot down because of the actions of rapists. It was shot down by women choosing to be their victims instead of those victorious over their crime. The intent of rape is to humiliate, to subjugate to cause despair and dismay. These are the reasons women abort! These are the reactions and emotions the women who voted it down chose to defend! This is the final outcome these women are most comfortable with. These women are not victorious over rape. These women have been subjugated by it and ask others to be subjugated by it, and to empathize with the feelings the subjugation of women who have relented to this torment! It was not for children, or for women that this did not pass, it was a clear message to rapists and power mongers that the game is theirs and the ball is in their court. It is time for us to take the fight back and win this ladies. Rape is not okay. Rape must be fought, and abortion as an outcome of rape is disgusting and it should not be tolerated and anything otherwise, certainly not as a justification for torturing unborn children. Address the crime of rape, don’t enforce the crime of rape by aiding and abetting in the legal protections which would destroy evidence of the crime or put undue pressures on the targets of rape to undergo abortion, a humiliation, and a second rape in itself. No woman chooses rape, but in the same breath, she did not choose the abortion either. The abortion and all of it’s proponents, like the rapist, chose her.

Yes, David. Wilberforce spearheaded legislation that targeted some slaves and not others.
***Excited supporters suggested taking advantage of the large majority to seek the abolition of slavery itself but Wilberforce made it clear that total emancipation was not the immediate goal: “They had for the present no object immediately before them, but that of putting stop directly to the carrying of men in British ships to be sold as slaves.”[151] The Slave Trade Act received the Royal Assent on 25 March 1807.[152]
