Akin regains lead as social conservatives stand by him

If Todd Akin pulls this off, it will be more than he who is vindicated. It was also be the pro-life community.

After supposedly suffering a nine point drop following his infamous rape remark, to fall behind Claire McKaskill 49-44%, could it be that Akin has already recovered? Yes, according to a new poll commissioned by Family Research Council.

If Akin regains his foothold, it will put knee-jerk Republicans in a deservedly tough spot. Two days ago RNC Chairman Reince Priebus insanely declared, “He can be tied, we’re not gonna send him a penny.” Priebus, pictured right, has said he believes life begins at conception, although he must also believe babies whose fathers are rapists can nevertheless be murdered.

Seriously, are Republicans so afraid of feminists, and so afraid of defending the pro-life issue, that they’ll throw themselves under the same bus they threw Akin?

Reported Politico, yesterday:

New Stanek poll: Do you think abortion should be legal for rape or incest?

Poll 2.pngI have a new poll question up, in keeping with the latest flak over abortion:

Do you think abortion should be legal in cases of rape or incest?

Vote on the lower right side of the home page.

The last poll was revealing. Obviously and sadly, abortion permeates or culture….

New Stanek poll: Do you know someone who has had an abortion?

Poll 2.pngI saw a poll question at Abortioneers I thought was a good one:

Do you know someone who has had an abortion?

Vote on the lower right side of the home page.

Sadly, the response there was 100% for “Yes,” albeit only 16 votes. I still thought this was telling. How many people support abortion simply because they know someone – or have been someone- who got one?

So we know now Mitt Romney chose Paul Ryan as his running mate. But only 11.4% of you got the right answer! And somehow I think Kelly Ayotte fans skewed the poll a tad…

New Stanek poll: Who should Romney choose as his running mate?

Poll 2.pngI have a new poll question up:

Who would you like to see Mitt Romney pick as his running mate?

Vote on the lower right side of the home page.

Obviously, no one in the world guessed Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts would be the deciding vote in favor of Obamacare. And only 11% of you thought the court would decide as it did…

In light of unfavorable Gallup poll, Planned Parenthood CEO declares pro-life/pro-choice terms “irrelevant”

Planned Parenthood CEO Cecile Richards appeared on MSNBC’s Morning Joe program on May 30 to tout her group’s new anti-Romney ad. But the conversation veered onto other interesting topics, as I wrote in my previous post.

One of those topics was the May 31 Gallup poll that found the number of Americans considering themselves “pro-choice” at a record low of 41%.

Morning Joe co-host Mika Brzezinski broached that topic with Richards and got this eye-rolling response:

Breaking, Gallup: “Pro-choice” Americans at record low – 41%

Fabulous news from Gallup, today:

The 41% of Americans who now identify themselves as “pro-choice” is down from 47% last July and is one percentage point below the previous record low in Gallup trends, recorded in May 2009. Fifty percent now call themselves “pro-life,” one point shy of the record high, also from May 2009.

So while the number of Americans considering themselves pro-life has remained steady since 2009, the number calling themselves pro-choice has dived. Click to enlarge:

Continuing on with Gallup story:

Time Top 100: Cecile Richards loses poll, Cardinal Dolan wins

UPDATE 4/7, 7:25a: Despite last minute efforts by abortion proponents to prop Planned Parenthood CEO Cecile Richards and sink Cardinal Timothy Dolan, pro-lifers won the day in the poll to choose Time magazine’s Top 100 for 2012. Both were among the top vote getters, scoring more votes than Lady Gaga and Barack Obama. Dolan coming in at #16, and Richards at #17. Good job…

4/4, 7:44p: Time magazine is conducting a poll through tomorrow of nominees for its Top 100 most influential people in the world.

New Stanek poll: How will the Supreme Court rule on Obamacare?

Poll 2.pngI have a new poll question up:

How do you think the U.S. Supreme Court will rule on Obamacare?

Politico posted a piece today detailing six ways the Supremes might go. I have listed those as options in the poll on the lower right side of the home page.

The majority of you got the last question right: “How many states do you think are down to one abortion clinic?”
