Sunday Word: “Lust gets pregnant and has a baby: sin!”

temptation

The temptation to give in to evil comes from us and only us. We have no one to blame but the leering, seducing flare-up of our own lust. Lust gets pregnant, and has a baby: sin! Sin grows up to adulthood, and becomes a real killer.

Abortion’s new underground railroad

texas-rural-road-300x168According to the Guttmacher Institute, in 2009 the median cost of a first-trimester abortion was just under $500. Add the bus travel or gas and up to three nights in a hotel, and the cost can jump by several hundred dollars.

That’s the impetus behind Clinic Action Support Network, which was founded last summer in response to the new law, and aims to help Houston-area women clear the growing hurdles to abortion access.

But regulations and requirements like those in HB2 are not limited to Texas. Twenty-seven states have passed abortion regulations….

The trend has given rise to networks like CASN nationwide that help close the gap between the legal right to an abortion and the ability to get one. The New Mexico Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice, for example, puts up women in a supportive hotel that charges the organization $49.99 a night for a room.

Stanek weekend question: What flavor ice cream would Planned Parenthood be?

zombie-ice-cream-truck for planned parenthood abortion industry leader

Yesterday, liberal site Wonkette revealed that even abortion supporters subliminally connect Planned Parenthood to abortion, despite all their conscious denials, when it posted the above photo, labeled “zombie-ice-cream-truck” with the following article, which got it in a bit of trouble with Planned Parenthood:ice cream for Planned Parenthood, United States largest abortion provider

The Daily Caller advises us today that a Portland, Oregon, ice cream parlor offended the sensibilities of all good pearl-clutching citizens Thursday by holding a fundraiser for Planned Parenthood, and it even “created a new flavor of the frozen treat to mark the occasion.” Oh no! Now even ice cream has lost its innocence!

The parlor, What’s the Scoop, donated 10% of all sales during a three-hour window to Planned Parenthood Advocates of Oregon, Planned Parenthood’s political arm, and featured the “exclusive, limited-edition ROSE CITY REVOLUTION flavor,” according to PPAO’s Facebook page. Rose City is one of Portland, Oregon’s nicknames.

That seems pretty mild, really. No Fetus Crunch? No Devil’s Food & Chocolate D&C? Not even a George Tiller Chiller? Seems pretty wimpy to us. But no matter. Whatever the flavor, it’s the amniotic fluid on top that gives it that special kick….

UPDATE: We have been reminded that abortions account for only 3% of Planned Parenthood’s services, which makes the focus of this piece rather misleading. Wonkett regrets the error, and recommends you try the Pap-Smear ‘n’ Cream.

Ha. Freud would love it.

Ice cream connoisseurs will be interested to know “Rose City Revolution” was a mixture of honey, rose petals, and vanilla. “Rose City” is a nickname for Portland.

Carole Noveielli at LiveNews.com recommended the flavor “Blood and Scream!”

ice cream for abortion industry leader planned parenthoodAnother recommendation on Facebook was “Fetus Fudge.”

What’s the Scoop is now allegedly receiving  “threatening” phone calls that “are bizarre and odd.” The outlet reporting this slurred LifeNews.com as a “virulent[],” so it has a penchant for the bombastic when it comes to pro-lifers. I’d like to hear those calls. You would be able to tell honest pro-life abhorrence from pro-abortion pranksters.

But What’s the Scoop owners should not be surprised that opponents of abortion would be disgusted by their support of the United States’ abortion industry leader.

At any rate, what ice cream flavor would you create for Planned Parenthood?

Pro-life blog buzz 7-18-14

  • The Catholic View for Women says “CNN is reporting that, according to a study published in the journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the levonorgestrel-releasing intrauterine system (LNG-IUS) or progesterone-releasing IUD, may be associated with a higher than expected incidence of breast cancer.” The jury still appears to be out on this one, but CVW wonders if women will be given this information of potential risk:

What caught my eye, though, is that levonorgestrel, a hormone that regulates ovulation, is also the used in the Plan B contraceptive, better known as the morning after pill. Millions of American women are now going to receive the IUD and Plan B free, thanks to Obamacare, and most of them will have no idea they could be increasing their risk of breast cancer.

Is it possible that most women are unaware of the health risks associated with hormonal contraception in general?

  • A Drop in the Ocean notes a growing anti-child mentality among Americans, citing articles like “I’m Not Prejudiced, I Just Don’t Like 25% of Humanity”? and “26 Important Reminders Why Birth Control Exists.” In a world that denounces prejudices of all kinds, it appears that being prejudiced against children is considered acceptable. Perhaps it is true, as the author says, that “[h]ating kids doesn’t say anything about them, but it says a lot about you.”

It seems odd to hate a people group to which all of us once belonged.

  • At Women’s Rights Without Frontiers, Reggie Littlejohn says the tweaking of China’s One-Child Policy to occasionally allow a second child is a technical modification at best and does nothing to prevent sex trafficking:

Allowing a relatively small number of families to have a second child will not end gendercide or sexual slavery in China. The selective abortion and abandonment of baby girls is most prevalent in the countryside, where couples already can have a second child if the first child is a girl. Even if the most recent modification were to improve gender ratios at birth, the impact on sexual slavery would not be felt for decades to come. What about all the women and girls who are being trafficked now? The TIP Report does not cite any effective new initiatives by the CCP to help current victims of sexual slavery.

  • Wesley J. Smith reports that the ACLU is currently “trolling for clients to become litigants in lawsuits aimed at breaking the backs of people who withhold ‘medical’ services based on their religion”. Since the Religious Freedom Restoration Act is federal law, the ACLU has instead decided to take the battle to the states:

[T]he ACLU intends to force religious objectors to participate in… Abortions; Information about Washington’s Death with Dignity Act; Referral to support organizations or cooperating providers to assist a patient in using Washington’s Death with Dignity Act; Allow medical providers to participate in Washington’s Death with Dignity Act… Palliative care/nursing support for patients who choose to stop eating and drinking to allow natural death[e.g., participation in suicide by starvation, not a natural death]. Pharmacy dispensary [e.g, forced dispensing of drugs used in assisted suicide, RU 486 abortions, etc.]…

But the RFRA does not apply to state law! The ACLU troll for clients shows that we are about to see a concerted attack on religious freedom at the state level – with the intent to drive certain religious, pro life, and/or Hippocratic medical professionals out of medicine altogether, and break the spine of religious liberty in the name of reigning secular moral agendas imposed through the medical context.

Pro-life vid of day: Hannity interviews Created Equal

by Hans Johnson

After the verbal and physical attack by a woman in downtown Columbus, Ohio, Created Equal’s Mark Harrington and Seth Drayer have extended  forgiveness to her, and hope she will show some remorse and contrition for the incident.

The scattershot accusations of misogyny and racism hurled at “white male” intern Ian understandably puzzle Sean Hannity in this interview. The only actual argument the attacker had  between expletives was, “No uterus, no right to talk about it!” Is this the best they’ve got?

Poet for life speaks against the new “civil war”

shawn welcomeby Carder

All in the name of freedom. Party like a rock-star while little ones are dying. Silent screams from injected saline and dreams you will never hear because little lungs were punctured before they could fully function. Who will be a voice for the voiceless?…

How many freight trains of injustice will roll by behind church buildings while service inside sings louder? Hands in the air, pump up the volume… drowning out the rumblings of oppression.

No formal funerals, miniature caskets, only the likes of medical waste to manage. Tell me, how many pounds of flesh do you pick up for profit?…

… And when will that ‘waste’ begin to weigh down on your conscience?

~ Performance poet Shawn Welcome in his YouTube video “The New Civil War: Abortion!” , as reported by pro-life activist Alveda King, Newsmax, July 16

Unbelievable video: Jackson, MS, police stand by as vandals steal pro-life signs

Mike Peters steals signs from Created Equal, a pro-life organizationThis is UNBELIEVABLE. I wouldn’t believe it if I didn’t see it.

Yesterday, police in Jackson, Mississippi, stood idly by as vandals systematically stole signs right in front of them that had been erected by pro-life group Created Equal.

As the following video shows, police first acknowledged Created Equal had the constitutional right to hold a protest on a public sidewalk in Jackson, as corroborated by their city attorney.

The protest was held both in front of and across the street from Jackson Women’s Health Organization, the only abortion clinic remaining in Mississippi.

Incredibly, the owner of one of the businesses in front of which Created Equal had erected its display began taking signs with the help of two accomplices – while the police stood by and watched!

Mike Peters, who stole pro-life signs from Created Equal, a group that protests abortionOver the course of 20 minutes Mike Peters (pictured left), owner and developer of Fondren Corner, a four-story complex of private residences, offices, and restaurants, and two other men slowly removed nine sandwich boards, for a total of 18 signs, and took them inside his building.

Eight police officers witnessed the theft, one who stood right in front of Peters (photo above), but did nothing.

“They told me they had to wait for their commander,” Mark Harrington, Executive Director of Created Equal, said in a phone interview. “But I told them that was ridiculous. Would they wait for permission to arrest if they saw someone stealing from Wal-Mart?”

An hour after the theft the commander showed up, went in and spoke with Peters, and the signs were returned.

Created Equal is pressing charges against Peters and are considering filing a lawsuit against the city.

Coincidentally, Life Legal Defense Fund is dropping a lawsuit against the Jackson Police Department within the next few days for harassment and false arrests of pro-lifers.

After pro-life activists sued Jackson police in 2006, the city signed a consent decree agreeing officers would no longer interfere with the free speech rights of pro-life advocates.

But as soon as the Court’s jurisdiction over the decree expired, Jackson police resumed their anti-life ways, as evidenced yesterday.

Created Equal has already had quite a summer, and it has only begun. On June 9 it made national news after an abortion proponent attacked another of its protests.

Created Equal is currently in the midst of its annual “Summer Justice Ride,” a nine-day national bus tour from July 12-20 that this year is retracing the route of the original Freedom Riders of the 1960s.
