Obama’s only act of “leadership” was voting to allow infanticide

baipaby Kelli

While president, Obama has not yet stood apart from his party or advisors. To find an example of daring leadership on the part of Obama, you have to go back to his days in the Illinois State Senate….

Illinois Senate Bill 1095 was named the Born Alive Infant Protection Act (BAIPA)….

The goal of BAIPA was to fill the gap so that the surviving child of an abortion would receive the immediate care and legal protections all other newborns receive…. (i.e., no infanticide)

This is where Illinois Senator Obama’s fearless three-year stand on principle began…. Senator Obama, sitting on the Judiciary Committee, voted “No,” and the bill later failed to pass the Democrat-controlled House. “We at Planned Parenthood view those as leadership votes,” said the abortion company’s Illinois president and CEO, Pam Sutherland.

The bill… was reintroduced by the Republican-controlled Senate…. It received two “No” votes by Senator Obama – his committee vote in March and his vote on the Senate floor in April…. Obama explained his “No” votes this way: “What we are doing here is to create one more burden on women, and I can’t support that.”

Later that year the Federal BAIPA was signed into law by President George W. Bush.

The third Illinois BAIPA bill… was introduced in February 2003 in a Democrat-controlled Senate. This time Senator Obama was the chairman of the committee where he voted “Yes” in favor of adopting the federal BAIPA language, making the Illinois bill an exact copy of the federal law. Later that same day Senator Obama voted “No” on the bill, and it failed again in the Democrat House.

Senator Obama explained, “…physicians are already required to use life-saving measures when fetuses are born alive during abortions.” He further elaborated in a 2006 USA Today op-ed: “I can’t impose my religious views on another.”…

The Illinois BAIPA bill was signed into law one year after Obama left the Illinois Senate….

Not a single Democrat in the US Senate voted against the federal (anti-infanticide) BAIPA bill.

Sunday Word: “The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life”

image

As I’ve mentioned, I love reading my Bible, especially if some verses really jump out at me. When they do, I’ll share them with ya!

Here’s the latest:

The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life, but violence overwhelms the mouth of the wicked.” Proverbs 10:11

The part about “the mouth of the righteous” being the “fountain of life” totally reminds me of the wonderful activists in the pro-life movement!!!

On the other hand, it also makes me picture pro-abortion advocates and the violence they preach… it just makes me sick. They have “mouths of the wicked,” because they and spew so much violence toward people who are only trying to protect innocent life.

Choose life.

Incinerated babies no different than incinerated tonsils, body fluids

fishing_boat_incinerator_ghost_picture_93839-436x322I’m not in the least disturbed by the fact that patients were not consulted on how their dead fetus was disposed.

When you go in for an operation, are you concerned about what is done with the bloody towels afterwards, or how your appendix or tonsils or excised cyst are treated? Did you think there was some special room deep in the bowels of the institution where they were reverently interred, attended by a weeping chaplain who said a few kind words over your precious bodily fluids?

Nope. They’re sealed up in a bag, dealt with according to appropriate protocols for medical waste, and incinerated.

Get over it.

~ Blogger P.Z. Myers at Pharyngula, March 26, responding to news that the bodies of thousands of aborted and miscarried babies were incinerated at UK hospitals, some to provide heat

  • ProWomanProLife recommends a blog post by pro-lifer Matt Walsh entitled, “I paid to have babies murdered and all I got was this coat hanger necklace?” Walsh writes:

Sure, we’d like to give to every worthy charity and needy neighbor, but alas our resources are finite. So… [d]o we concentrate on nurturing, sheltering, clothing, protecting, blessing, and loving our fellow human beings? Or do we negate the need for such things by opting to fund the extermination of the very sorts of humans that might end up requiring our charity, should they be permitted to exist in the first place? Do we feed them, treating them like hungry friends, or do we fumigate, treating them like swarming cockroaches? If the ease and efficiency of the latter option appeal to you, The DC Abortion Fund is here to help….

[They like] to keep it classy. That’s why they offer a gift to anyone who chooses to donate to their organization: A coat hanger pendant….

I’m not sure what they were going for, but to me it symbolizes the myth of the “safe” abortion. We pretend that the clinics provide a less hazardous experience than back alleys and coat hangers, but it’s all a charade. A show. A merciless ploy, and women are the victims.

“Safe” abortions have killed at least 400 women…. A peer reviewed study, published in the British Journal of Psychiatry, found that women who’ve had abortions suffer from an 81 percent higher risk of mental health problems. Worst of all, the suicide rate among these women is tragic and startling.

Safe? Safe for who, exactly? Safe for the abortionists, I guess.

MOON PLAZA

  • Pro-Life New Mexico discusses how pro-life activist Bud Shaver and Protest ABQ appear to have the UNM Center for Reproductive Health on the run. Apparently, their persistent witness has had an impact:

Well, lo and behold, the baby killers on 1701 Moon CLOSED their doors this past week, and a source said that it was because of Bud’s daily visits in front of their facility. They decided to relocate to an office park near the airport, but Protest ABQ has made several visits to the location and have notified other businesses in the area about their new neighbor. Bud Shaver along with others now make a daily visit to this site.

  • Real Choice posts a disturbing video from Operation Rescue, detailing an ambulance call for a patient not breathing following an abortion at a Cleveland facility. The video shows no resuscitation attempts by medical personnel as they are wheeling her out to the ambulance.
  • Pro-Life Wisconsin posts audio of an ambulance call for a “safe” and legal abortion at a Madison, Wisconsin Planned Parenthood which perforated a patient’s uterus. The PP caller requested that an ambulance come without lights and sirens.
  • At Pro-Life Action League, Eric Scheidler posts about the group’s activities outside the Supreme Court in support of Hobby Lobby and Conestoga this week. Scheidler also shares links to several interviews he gave to news outlets.
  • At Reproductive Research Audit, Dr. Jacqueline Harvey has an interesting and timely article on the Hobby Lobby case:

Reproductive Research Audit (RRA) recently submitted this amicus curiae brief in the U.S. Supreme Court case, Sebelius v. Hobby Lobby for which oral arguments begin today. It is often glossed-over in the media that Hobby Lobby and Conestoga Wood provide coverage for 16 out of 20 forms of prescription contraceptives, and object to merely drugs and devices that they believe cause early abortions (one of which, Plan B, is available over-the-counter). Prior research at RRA had determined that these methods are actually among the least-popular, which lead us to determine how many women are truly affected by the plaintiff’s moral objection to abortion. How many women? Harvey says it’s about 330.

  • Priests for Life posts a stirring video of Fr. Frank Pavone speaking about the HHS mandate from the steps of the Supreme Court:

Pro-life vid of day: An interview with anti-Hobby Lobby protesters

by Kelli

Dan Joseph of MRC TV, known for his “man on the street” interviews, has done yet another. This time, he interviewed those protesting Hobby Lobby’s case against the HHS contraceptive mandate. The mandate would require employers – despite their religious objections – to cover abortifacient drugs in employees’ insurance plans, or pay heavy penalties.

See what these unhappy folks had to say about why they’re protesting:

Couple parodies Kardashian Vogue cover with pregnancy announcement

Vogue pregnancy announcementby Carder

It was only a matter of time before people other than James Franco and Seth Rogen parodied Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s Vogue cover - but who would have thought it would have been the perfect basis for a pregnancy announcement?

Pro-life vids of day, Jimmy Carter: Female gendercide worse than Holocaust

by Hans Johnson

Former President Jimmy Carter is on a promotion tour for his latest book, A Call to Action: Women, Religion, Violence and Power. On Monday’s Morning Joe on MSNBC, he compared the missing 160 million girls due to selective infanticide and abortion to the Jewish Holocaust of World War II:

He then appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman and noted how gender imbalance, thanks to sex-selective abortion and female infanticide, has added to the rise in human trafficking:
