Left creating false crisis with “straw men” in contraception debate

by Kelli

strawmentownhall

The way they frame it, supporters of the intrusive HHS mandate are simply arguing that it isn’t a boss’ place to tell a woman whether or not she should use birth control…. Guess what? Conservatives agree. Employers shouldn’t make personal decisions for their employees, nor should they “interfere” with contraceptive choices. According to a Gallup poll released after the birth control mandate controversy boiled over, Republicans are statistically just as likely as Democrats to view birth control as morally acceptable.

Nobody is trying to “ban” contraceptives. What conservatives object to is the idea of the State coercing a relatively small number of religious employers to pay for other people’s contraception. There’s a coruscating distinction between trying to outlaw or limit access to a product, and asking not to be forced to violate one’s conscience by directly facilitating the use of that product. The Left is actively seeking to obfuscate that distinction because the public isn’t on their side when the question is presented even reasonably fairly.

Beyond that point, the memo from NARAL, et al also cites a 2009 CDC survey indicating that access to birth control clearly wasn’t a problem prior to the Obama administration’s decree. If 99 percent of sexually active women used birth control in the “bad old days,” what crisis is this blanket mandate solving?

Pro-life video of the day: Jane Fonda gives sex advice to teens

by LauraLoo

Matt Lauer of the Today Show interviewed Jane Fonda about her interest in giving teens sex and relationship advice, wherein she cited her inability to obtain guidance from her own parents as a teen. Interestingly, Jane admits that everybody is not “doing it” – “in fact, more adolescents are not engaged in sexual activity” – and that due to peer pressure, even she lied about when she lost her virginity.

She has authored a book titled Being a Teen: Everything Teen Girls and Boys Should Know About Relationships, Sex, Love, Health, Identity & More.

It should be noted that Fonda is a huge supporter of Planned Parenthood, and received the group’s Margaret Sanger Award in 2003.

What do you think? Are Fonda’s revelations about her own life helpful or harmful for teens?

Husband uses wife’s abortion against her in custody battle

Lisa Mehosby Carder

The decision comes after she admitted to having sex with a friend a year after her marriage to Mehos, 59, came to an end, and the fling resulted in her being pregnant and having an abortion.

Mr Mehos and his ‘relentless’ attorney Eleanor Alter went so far as to suggest that Mrs Mehos’ abortion undermined her claim of being a Catholic, which in turn speaks to her overall credibility.

After subpoenaing Mrs Mehos’ medical records to show that she had an abortion, Ms Alter used the procedure to suggest she was a hypocrite for asking to have custody of her two children over Easter….

Her husband used the abortion against her in court to increase his custody prospects and Lisa lost temporary custody of her daughter Macy, six, and son John, four, in August.

  • At the Euthanasia Prevention Coalition, Alex Schadenberg says an Australian high court has decided that a man who helped his friend commit suicide cannot inherit from the will of his deceased friend. Until this ruling, Schadenberg notes:

Only those convicted of murder or manslaughter had previously been barred from benefiting from an estate if named as executors or beneficiaries in their victim’s will. Hopefully this decision will further protect people who are at the lowest point in their life.

  • Live Action News highlights the remarkable story of Mindy Tran, a mother who threw her body under a rolling car to prevent it – with her twins buckled inside – from going into traffic. She is expected to recover from her injuries. LA opines:

Mindy’s example should cause our nation to ponder the true meaning of motherhood. Deep down we want mothers to do everything they can to protect, nurture and care for their children. We praise them when they sacrifice because we know it’s the right thing to do. Where would we be as a nation if all mothers sought to protect their children’s lives at any cost?

  • At Coming Home, Dr. Gerard Nadal pens a letter “addressed to every physician, scientist, and genetic counselor who believes in a eugenic agenda that targets the unborn specifically because of diagnosed genetic anomalies”:

Who taught you in medical school or graduate school that we doctors of science and medicine are the custodians of the human gene pool? Who was it that told you it was your job to keep that pool “clean?”…How have we progressed from that understanding to where we are today?…

What is it that you believe you have been entrusted with that leads to this neo-eugenics?…

When was it that we stopped looking for cures and enhanced therapies, and started taking the cheap way out? When did death and non-existence become the answer, rather than healing and wholeness? When did we receive a mandate to kill every baby we could in order to aid the patient in avoidance of suffering?

Far from being admirable, Radcliffe charged well for her services – $2500 per abortion – and was certainly no charity worker. She was known to have injured some abortion clients and even ran a brothel out of her home. Malone notes, “If this is what passes for a pioneering women’s advocate then I’d really hate to see what these people consider to be the exploitation of women.”

Aborted babies incinerated to heat UK hospitals

by Kelli

UKhospitalsThe bodies of thousands of aborted and miscarried babies were incinerated as clinical waste, with some even used to heat hospitals, an investigation has found.

Ten NHS trusts have admitted burning foetal remains alongside other rubbish while two others used the bodies in “waste-to-energy” plants which generate power for heat….

At least 15,500 foetal remains were incinerated by 27 NHS trusts over the last two years alone, Channel 4’s Dispatches discovered.

The programme… found that parents who lose children in early pregnancy were often treated without compassion and were not consulted about what they wanted to happen to the remains.

One of the country’s leading hospitals, Addenbrooke’s in Cambridge [pictured top right; click to enlarge], incinerated 797 babies below 13 weeks gestation at their own “waste to energy” plant. The mothers were told the remains had been “cremated.”

Another “waste to energy” facility at Ipswich Hospital [pictured lower right], operated by a private contractor, incinerated 1,101 foetal remains between 2011 and 2013.

They were brought in from another hospital before being burned, generating energy for the hospital site.

EXCLUSIVE emails: J.J. Redick badgered girlfriend after abortion, used racial slurs

2013-07-24_1145-e1374684357965In July 2013 MediaTakeOut.com broke the story that basketball star J.J. Redick had initiated an “abortion contract” with then girlfriend Vanessa Lopez to abort their baby.

The contract stated the couple would attempt to ”maintain a social and/or dating relationship” for one year after the abortion, and if Redick reneged he would pay Lopez $25,000.

Redick and Lopez signed the abortion contract the morning of her abortion, September 13, 2007. Lopez was never to see Redick again, but she never attempted to collect the $25,000.

Paparazzi discovered the abortion contract in court documents. Neither Redick nor Lopez had anything to do with its release.

But at the point the abortion contract was made public, Redick had two options, be a man and accept culpability, or be a weasel and deny it. Redick chose the path of the weasel.

There was no denying the signed abortion contract…

2013-07-25_0653

… so, farcically, Redick denied paternity. From his Twitter account…

https://twitter.com/JJRedick/status/360177633964724225

Imagine being Lopez. Having just endured humiliating worldwide exposure of what must have been the most painful experience of her life, she had to then endure Redick denying he was their baby’s father. He could only have dug the knife in deeper.

Lopez is now writing a cathartic tell-all book, releasing additional information about events leading up to and after an abortion she says was cruelly coerced by Redick and his handlers. On that point, Lopez gave me two emails as examples.

The first email came from Redick’s account within hours after Lopez had her second trimester abortion – already badgering her to prove she went through it, not giving her any space or peace to attempt to recover:

image

The second email is both vulgar and laced with racial slurs, but I’m not redacting any of it. I don’t want to minimize its coarseness and bigotry. Lopez told me it was forwarded to her by Redick’s brother with another email that contained a “cartoon of a monkey eating fried chicken and a watermelon.” Lopez said she immediately deleted the cartoon because it was so upsetting. In  this email, written to his attorney, Redick ironically uttered a racial epithet after worrying about a different one spewed by his brother-in-law:

image

Following news of Redick’s abortion contract, and his subsequent denial of responsibility, he has been plagued with injuries. From ClipsNation.com, March 20:

Redick missed 21 games in December and January with a wrist injury, and then returned for only 13 games before going out again with a back injury.  There were worries that this injury could have cost J.J. his season, but the fact that he’s getting back to practice today is a good sign….

Maybe. Beware of karma.

(Not so) pro-life vid of day: Clinic counselor films own abortion

by LauraLoo

Emily Letts shares her actual abortion experience on video (not graphic), as well as her thoughts approximately six weeks after the abortion, in an attempt to provide strength and support to abortion-vulnerable/abortion-minded women in similar situations.

Emily further states that having an abortion does not make one a bad or sad person, nor should it make one feel guilty.

However, most telling is her strange comment at the end:  “I feel in awe of the fact that I can make a baby; I can make a life.”

And then kill that baby, apparently….
