Why abortion proponents agree they are losing

On this, the 40th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, Time magazine’s perspective is that legalized abortion is on a losing path. And I haven’t found anyone on the other side who disagrees. Quick example, NARAL’s email heading this morning:

What makes abortion proponents think this gloom and doom, despite their hard-fought presidential victory?

In a nutshell: federalism, the growing pile of state anti-abortion laws….

Attack on elderly pro-lifer leads to arrest of serial rapist

I wrote in July about the attack of 69-yr-old pro-lifer Everett Stadig by an abortion proponent as Stadig was collecting signatures for Colorado’s personhood initiative in front of a Denver grocery store.

What followed is an example of perseverance in the face of injustice, which led to an amazing conclusion and a reminder of Genesis 50:20, “Even though you planned evil against me, God planned good to come out of it. This was to keep many people alive….”

Hat tip to pro-life activist Jo Scott for relaying the end of the story, as follows.

Mom in labor votes on the way to the hospital

With contractions five minutes apart, Galicia Malone stopped at Precinct 88 in Chicago to cast her vote on her way to the hospital, according to the Cook County Clerk’s Office. Malone, 21, was determined to vote in her first presidential election, even though her water had broken. She voted at around 8:30 a.m. at the […]

When even MSM thinks the Democratic Convention is an abortion-palooza, you know it’s bad

When even liberals and the mainstream media think the Democratic National Convention has turned into an abortion-palooza, it must really be blatant.

Apparently even ideologically aligned reporters have their breaking point on abortion promotion. To wit…

Pro-abortion New York Times columnist David Brooks, after Day 1:

ABC poll: Obama popularity “dips underwater… decline entirely among women”

I’ve reported several times in recent months that Barack Obama’s favorability among female voters has only slipped since he, Democrats, and liberal feminists launched their “Republican war on women” campaign earlier this year, despite rosy reports you may read to the contrary. From ABC News, September 4:

Planned Parenthood loses: Court upholds South Dakota’s abortion suicide advisory

South Dakota is one of five states with only one abortion clinic remaining: Planned Parenthood of Sioux Falls.

So the stakes are higher than ever each time the predominantly pro-life South Dakota legislature passes a law regulating and/or restricting abortion.

In 2005 it passed a detailed informed consent statute Planned Parenthood has been battling ever since.

Yesterday Planned Parenthood lost its fourth protracted complaint against the law, this one on the point that abortion places a mother at “increased risk of suicide ideation and suicide.” According to the 27-page majority opinion:

Rick Santorum: Romney must pick a pro-life VP

For the Republican Party to nominate someone who is pro-choice would be as much of a problem for the Democrats to nominate someone who is pro-life. ~ Former Republican primary presidential candidate Rick Santorum describing the difficulty that presumptive Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney would face should he select a pro-choice Vice Presidential running mate, […]

Michelle Obama makes Catholic Church’s point about contraception mandate

Our faith journey isn’t just about showing up on Sunday for a good sermon and good music and a good meal. It’s about what we do Monday through Saturday as well, especially in those quiet moments, when the spotlight’s not on us, and we’re making those daily choices about how to live our lives.

We see that in the life of Jesus Christ. Jesus didn’t limit his ministry to the four walls of the church. He was out there fighting injustice and speaking truth to power every single day. He was out there spreading a message of grace and redemption to the least, the last, and the lost. And our charge is to find Him everywhere, every day by how we live our lives….

[Faith] is not a once-a-week kind of deal….
