Those pro-abortion bullies are actually on the defensive

Back in the day abortion proponents had all the mojo and pro-lifers were on the defensive. The photo above, via PBS, is of pro-abortion rally demanding a repeal of pro-life laws in Washington, D.C.,  circa 1971.

At the same time, feminists were pushing the Equal Rights Amendment in all 50 states. The photo below, via illinois.gov, is of feminists writing the names of ERA opponents in pigs’ blood on the floor of the Illinois State Capitol on June 24, 1982…

Ambitious expansion of urban crisis pregnancy outreach underway

slattery-courtFor 28 years Chris Slattery (pictured right), founder of Expectant Mother Care Frontline Pregnancy Centers, has focused on helping pregnant mothers in crisis in the New York City area, where 40% of all babies are killed by abortion, and worse, 60% of all black babies.

EMC now operates in 12 locations in four NYC boroughs.

But this summer Slattery plans to exponentially expand EMC’s urban outreach to 10 other major U.S. cities with high abortion rates and underrepresented crisis pregnancy outreach – Austin, Baltimore, Buffalo, Charlotte, Cleveland, Detroit, Miami, Philadelphia, San Antonio, and Washington, D.C.

Obama administration’s harassment of pro-lifers gets personal

On July 13 FBI agents Conrad Rodriguez and William Sivley paid a visit to my son-in-law, Andy Moore, at his home.

Andy is a pro-life activist who prays and protests outside the Southwest Women’s Surgery Center abortion mill in Dallas, where late-term abortionist Curtis Boyd freely acknowledges he “kill[s]” children.

Agents Rodriguez and Sivley told Andy three red flags prompted their visit:

O’Reilly exposes Planned Parenthood’s involvement with sex selective abortion

Last night Live Action’s Lila Rose appeared on The O’Reilly Factor to discuss her group’s new video investigation into sex selective abortions.   Watch the latest video at video.foxnews.com   After viewing a cut from Live Action’s first exposé, which showed an Austin, Texas, Planned Parenthood employee helping facilitate what she thought was a sex-selective […]

BREAKING: Planned Parenthood fired employee following sex-selection sting

UPDATE 2p: Planned Parenthood has issued a statement disclaiming any culpability. It states the now terminated employee was “entry-level” and “did not follow our protocol.” So what exactly is the protocol of an organization that claims “[g]ender bias is contrary to everything our organization works for,” yet not wanting (lucrative) sex-selective abortions “curtail[ed]” in any way?

1:26p: See previous post here.

According to the Huffington Post, Planned Parenthood says it fired the staffer involved in Live Action’s new video investigation into sex selective abortions almost immediately after LA conducted its sting.

A Live Action source told me today the sting at that Austin, Texas, Planned Parenthood was conducted April 11, so the employee was fired April 14, 6-1/2 weeks ago:

  • Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton (predictably) vetoed another pro-life bill:

Gov. Mark Dayton on Monday, April 30, vetoed bills requiring doctors to be present when abortion-inducing drugs are administered and creating a health care compact.

The governor said he vetoed the abortion bill because it’s another attempt to place a regulatory burden on certain health procedures, existing options are safe and it intrudes on federal medicine and medical safety practices.

  • The Texas Tribune is reporting on another Planned Parenthood affiliate merge. North Texas, Austin and Waco Planned Parenthoods are merging to become Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas:

Publicly, Planned Parenthood leaders say the merger, which has been under discussion since 2009, is about creating a leaner, more efficient organization, especially in the face of reductions in state and federal financing. Less brazenly, they suggest that joining forces is the best way to defend their branches from an onslaught of anti-abortion legislation — and to connect the fundraising powerhouses concentrated in North Texas with endangered clinics throughout the 58,000-square-mile region and beyond.

“For us, it’s a strategic merger, an opportunity to pull together three very strong operations into one,” said Cecile Richards, president of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America, and the Waco-born daughter of the late Gov. Ann Richards. “It will help on the advocacy side and, more important, on the health care delivery side.”
