Planned Parenthood official argues for right to post-birth abortion

Twitter_picAs reported by The Weekly Standard

Florida legislators considering a bill to require abortionists to provide medical care to an infant who survives an abortion were shocked during a committee hearing this week when a Planned Parenthood official endorsed a right to post-birth abortion.

Alisa LaPolt Snow [pictured right] the lobbyist representing the Florida Alliance of Planned Parenthood Affiliates, testified that her organization believes the decision to kill an infant who survives a failed abortion should be left up to the woman seeking an abortion and her abortion doctor.

“So, um, it is just really hard for me to even ask you this question because I’m almost in disbelief,” said Rep. Jim Boyd. “If a baby is born on a table as a result of a botched abortion, what would Planned Parenthood want to have happen to that child that is struggling for life?”

“We believe that any decision that’s made should be left up to the woman, her family, and the physician,” said PP lobbyist Snow.

As Kelli spotlighted in today’s Quote of the Day by Mark Steyn (also noted by Matthew Balan at Newsbusters), the mainstream media has for the most part gone missing in reporting the murder trial of late-term Pennsylvania abortionist Kermit Gosnell.

Gosnell, his wife Pearl, and eight employees stand accused of murdering seven newborn abortion survivors and one mother.

Not only has MSM gone missing, when it does report on this horrendous story, it often gets important details wrong or makes inexplicable gaffes.

For instance, journalist MaryClaire Dale reported in a March 20 Associated Press story:

Abortion proponents now totally confused about what to call themselves

Who_Am_I__by_invader_jocyIt’s clear by now Planned Parenthood didn’t consult its friends before announcing plans to drop the term “pro-choice” from its lexicon.

Seems like a huge deal to me, particularly since Planned Parenthood offered no replacement.

Planned Parenthood doesn’t make marketing missteps, but I think it just did.

Certainly Planned Parenthood must have alienated groups like NARAL Pro-Choice America, Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice, Feminists for Choice, Catholics for Choice, Rock for Choice, Medical Students for Choice, Republicans for Choice, Center for Choice, 4000 Years for Choice, Clinicians for Choice, Voice of Choice, Choice USA, yadda yadda.

The title of the January 14 issue of Time magazine reads, “40 years ago, abortion-rights activists won an epic victory with Roe v. Wade. They’ve been losing ever since.”

Get real: Obama and the nation sanction the killing of all school children

… just a few years before they get there.

BTW, I would add “BEFORE, DURING, & AFTER THEIR BIRTH” to the sign, although there wouldn’t have been enough room, I suppose.

Nevertheless, Abolish Human Abortion’s point on the hypocrisy of our nation and our president is irrefutable.

As Rev. Clenard Childress wrote at RenewAmerica on January 2:

Pro-life summit: Where are we?

As I indicated yesterday, I attended a summit meeting of pro-life activists and apologists in Columbus, Ohio, on Monday and Tuesday, spearheaded by Mark Harrington of Created Equal.

The summit was to assess where the movement is at in light of the reelection of Barack Obama, also bearing in mind the fact we’re nearing the 40 year mark of legalized abortion in the U.S.

Heads of various groups from around the country and Canada gave their analyses, many via Skype, and also provided a snapshot of their plans for 2013.

I was looking forward to this summit, because in my opinion the paradigm shifted with the reelection of Barack Obama, and I was fumbling with how as a pro-lifer to respond.

Church ignores little girl hit by truck

I’m attending a two-day summit in Columbus, Ohio, involving leaders of pro-life activist groups, spearheaded by Mark Harrington of Created Equal, an organization of which I’m a board member. I’ll discuss more on that in another post.

But Don Cooper of World Life Organization (another group I’m on the board of), made a stirring point I’d like to pass along to you to get the conversation started as to the state of the pro-life movement as we approach the 40 year mark of legalized abortion in the U.S.

Don showed a video you may have seen, of several passersby ignoring for several minutes a toddler who was struck by not one but two trucks on a street in China last October. A total of 18 people ignored the crushed child until a street scavenger finally pulled her off the street. She went on to die….

Is AAP’s “routine Plan B Rx for teen girls” step too far for Obama?

During Thanksgiving week the American Academy of Pediatrics announced its recommendation that “morning after” prescriptions be issued to adolescent girls as a matter of course…. This approach, besides being deeply insulting to the human dignity of adolescents, exposes the reality that when we talk about sex these days, we all too often put good health […]
