Liberals fear changing filibuster rules would hurt abortion “rights”

filibuster

As Democrats consider whether to use the so-called nuclear option to rewrite the Senate’s filibuster rules, one issue in particular has some liberals worried: abortion.

Changing the rules to make it easier to confirm President Barack Obama’s executive branch or judicial appointments may help the White House in the short term…. But privately, that base and abortion rights supporters are concerned how a future GOP president and Senate could take advantage of the new setup.

Limbaugh: Obama’s a hypocrite for “blessing” Planned Parenthood

rushobamaPlanned Parenthood cannot afford to condemn any abortion, after birth, partial birth, they can’t condemn any. They can’t take action in one way, one syllable, one word, they can’t oppose any type of abortion or they destroy their own purpose.

To Planned Parenthood, every abortion is good, every pregnancy is a potential disease, every pregnancy is the result of male domination. Every abortion equals female freedom and emancipation. Every abortion equals women saying, “Screw you.”

Political cartoonists continued to cover abortion this week. There was so much fodder, between Kermit Gosnell, Barack Obama, and Planned Parenthood. Vote for your favorite in the poll at the bottom of the post.

Stanek weekend question: Your thoughts on Obama’s speech to Planned Parenthood?

Yesterday President Barack Obama made history, becoming the first sitting president to address a Planned Parenthood event. President and CEO of PP Cecile Richards introduced Obama. If you would like to skip her intro and jump directly to Obama’s speech, go to 6:20 on the video. There were many take-aways. For instance, the word “abortion” […]

Obama bails on Planned Parenthood gala

ap489865548864_s640x451UPDATE 4/26, 11:00p: So much for not wanting to be filmed. Obama’s speech to Planned Parenthood will be live streamed this morning, to begin at 11:20a, here.

We also now know the Planned Parenthood event is being held at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, D.C., according to The Christian Post.

4/24, 4:21p In a perfect pro-abortion world, the White House would proudly boast of President Obama’s plans to keynote a Planned Parenthood Federation of America event.

  • At the Daily Caller, our own Jill Stanek writes about President Barack Obama’s history of “blind faith in abortion doctors” like Kermit Gosnell:

Note Obama expressed concern that saving abortion survivors “might impact… the relationship between the doctor and the patient,” and that this [Illinois Born Alive] legislation was “really designed to burden the original decision….”

… Obama apparently cannot fathom that an upstanding abortionist who had been paid to kill a baby wouldn’t turn around and try to save a viable baby’s life in the event of a botch.

Kermit Gosnell would have been one of the abortionists in which Obama had “confidence.”

Planned Parenthood has opposed other anti-infanticide legislation: IL Born Alive Act

~ “Blessed” Obama’s opposition

479830_433518370067175_1027146459_nPlanned Parenthood’s recent opposition to Florida legislation seeking to protect abortion survivors sent shock waves around the country.

But this wasn’t the first time Planned Parenthood had opposed such legislation.

Planned Parenthood also actively fought Illinois’ Born Alive Infants Protection Act in the early 2000s, along with then state Senator Barack Obama. This legislation was introduced to protect known abortion survivors.

In fact, Planned Parenthood and Obama worked together as a team. From ABC News, July 17, 2007:

Insane: Judge orders OTC emergency contraception to all ages nationwide

FE_PR_081204_pills_540425x283One round of emergency contraceptives contains four to 12 times the dosage of a birth control pill.

The long-term effects of emergency contraception on the bodies of girls and women are as yet unknown.

At present we do know the Pill is composed of synthetic female steroids that are environmentally toxic, increase the risk of breast cancer, alter phermones, kill libido, and cause depression, anxiety, and mood disturbances.
