Stanek wkend Q: Should pro-lifers disqualify Rand Paul as presidential pick over Plan B support?

Rand Paul Plan B abortionFrom CNN, September 30:

“If life starts at conception, should medicine that prevents conception like Plan B be legal?,” a woman asked him during a question-and-answer session here.

Paul at first gave a terse answer: “I am not opposed to birth control,” he said.

Stanek weekend question: Should the U.S. bomb Syria?

Mideast Syria

UPDATE 9/8, 5a: Should’ve thought of this yesterday. Have added a poll asking the weekend question at the bottom of the post.

9/7, 9:20a: Should the United States use force in Syria to stop dictator president Bashar al-Assad from using chemical weapons against his own people, particularly children?

President Obama has made this more than a generalized question on war and death and brought it close to home for anti-abortion Americans by using children as his rationale. Quoting from NBC News:

  • Abortion State discusses a lawsuit filed against Planned Parenthood for defrauding taxpayers:

The lawsuit alleges that Planned Parenthood of the Great Northwest filed at least 25,000 false claims with HRSA for reimbursements in excess of the amount allowed for oral contraceptive pills and at least another 25,000 for reimbursements in excess of the amount allowed for “emergency contraceptive” (Plan B) pills under the federal government’s 340B drug reimbursement program. Total damages could be as much as $377,134,130.

  • My Drop in the Ocean follows up on a previous post regarding the differing approaches of pro-life groups in their public prayer/demonstrations in front of abortion clinics. While some groups pray and practice peaceful outreach, others feel this is ineffective and that the response should be more aggressive since a murder is about to take place. These warring tactics have caused some pro-lifers to stay away completely.

Planned Parenthood now recommends THREE simultaneous forms of birth control

Back in the day the birth control pill was the answer to all of anti-life’s problems. Listen to this naive song by Loretta Lynn, recorded in 1972. Read lyrics to “The Pill” here… 53+ million abortions later, “Oh, daddy, don’t you worry none, ’cause mama’s got the pill,” rings a bit hollow. Not to […]

Sorry, baby: Obama administration to force pro-life hospitals, medical professionals to dispense hormonal contraceptives, perform IVF

Actually, there are 3 ways out: Close hospitals, quit or never get into the medical profession, or engage in civil disobedience. Yesterday Students for Life of America released an important letter it received April 13 from the Department of Health & Human Services. HHS was responding to a March 22 inquiry SFLA and 3 pro-life […]

WA State Board of Pharmacy reversal: Will not force pharmacies to dispense emergency contraceptives

I read this tweet on Steph Herold’s IAmDrTiller account this morning: “Fill prescriptions w/o discrimination” is code for forcing pharmacies and pharmacists, even if against their moral convictions, to dispense emergency contraceptives. ECs may kill newly conceived humans. Sure enough, great news – and x2. 1st we see an anti-life decision being reversed; and 2nd […]

Jivin J’s Life Links 4-22-10

by JivinJ, host of the blog, Cassy Fiano has a fantastic reply to Jessica Valenti and her post about abortions for convenience: The whole feminist philosophy is disgusting. They tell women to sleep around like men do. When women then get unintentionally pregnant (usually while unmarried), they tell the women to just kill the damn […]
