Comparisons between Tiller and Jihadist shooters
Still no word from Obama or Holder on the Jihadist shooting at an Army recruiting office… no marshalls called to protect facilities. Meanwhile, conservatives are speaking out…
It’s a sad day in America when the shooting of an abortion doctor stops the presses but no one notices two soldiers gunned down by an Islamist….
When a right-wing Christian vigilante kills, millions of fingers pull the trigger. When a left-wing Muslim vigilante kills, he kills alone. These are the instantly ossifying narratives in the Sunday shooting death of late-term abortion provider George Tiller of KS versus the Monday shootings of two AR military recruiters….

I would still like to know what Patricia Ireland was doing reading Tiller patient records, as she claimed to have done when she tried to debunk the psychiatrist’s argument that women were having abortions for non medical reasons.
Mary:
Are you accusing Ms. Ireland of lying when she said “yes” to the direct question?
Lipstick on a pig.
Bill always covers things from a pro-life angle. He always does a great job on this. Excellent points he makes in this. I watched him yesterday which is when he covered this.
Well, she’s either lying or guilty of violating federal law.
I say go Bill. He is doing a great job and Patricia Ireland tried to dance all around the subject. While never condoning murder, he will not allow anyone to canonize Tiller. You go Bill.
A little off topic. Does anyone know if Obama again bowed to the king of Saudi Arabia on this mideast tour or has the king gotten taller and Obama doesn’t have to bend over to reach his hand?
As Michelle Malkin noted in her column and the Washington Times in their editorial, once again we are seeing a double standard by the liberal/left mainstream press and political figures. They consistently cover up or divert from the crimes committed by those who share their political/cultural ideology.
Mary,
..no word (or pics) yet…I believe they will not show that again if he did.
I a more disturbed on the idea that he went to the King of SA for “counsel”.
Mary – Obama may not be bowing lately (that we’ve seen), but recently Brian Williams bowed to Obama when he wrapped up a day of coverage. The cult of personality (veneration) grows.
Here’s the link of Williams bowing to Obama:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YLYtHHxTTmc
Mary,
Barry’s apology tour is just getting under way so we will have to see who he bows to this time, but according to the state run “news” media, Barry gives “hope” to Egypt and they are very “excited” he is coming.
OBAMA: One of the points I want to make is if you actually took the number of Muslim Americans, we’d be one of the largest Muslim countries in the world.
RUSH LIMBAUGH:
Also, do you know how many Muslims there are in America? Two-point-three million according to the Pew Research Center, there are 2.3 million Muslims in America. Yet the United States is one of the largest Muslim countries in the world, Obama says. Indonesia, 200 million Muslims, India 156 million Muslims, Pakistan 150 million Muslims, United States 2.3 million Muslims, and we are one of the largest Muslim countries in the world. So on the eve of this big trip to the Middle East, and his big speech in Cairo is tomorrow, to the Muslim world, Barack Obama is trumpeting and his White House is broadcasting all over the world his Muslim roots, his Muslim father, his Muslim Kenyan grandmother. During the campaign we couldn’t use the word Hussein because it was too negative and conjured up all these associations with Islamists. We talked about how he was of Christian faith and so forth, and I’m not disputing that. I just find it fascinating now that as he goes over again to the Middle East, and no doubt to apologize for the United States again, to start heralding for that part of the world his Muslim roots, once again we’re getting a totally different Obama than we got during the campaign.

Liberal media promotes liberal abortionists but says nothing about the most critical threat to the United States.
So what’s new? What can we do?
We can shut off NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN, cancel your The New York Times, your L.A. Times, your Chicago Tribune subscription, your Newsweek or Time subscriptions. We need to further starve these liberal, state-run media outlets and put them out of business.
We can also encourage our friends, families and acquaintances to do the same.
And we can encourage and fund people like Jill Stanek and Bill O’Reilly, Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity, Mark Levin, World Magazine, National Review, and Ann Coulter who speak the truth. We can patronize their sponsors and tell them where we heard about them.
From Ann Coulters weekly column:
“Tiller was protected not only by a praetorian guard of elected Democrats, but also by the protective coloration of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America – coincidentally, the same church belonged to by Tiller’s fellow Wichita executioner, the BTK killer.
The official Web page of the ELCA instructs: “A developing life in the womb does not have an absolute right to be born.” As long as we’re deciding who does and doesn’t have an “absolute right to be born,” who’s to say late-term abortionists have an “absolute right” to live?
I wouldn’t kill an abortionist myself, but I wouldn’t want to impose my moral values on others. No one is for shooting abortionists. But how will criminalizing men making difficult, often tragic, decisions be an effective means of achieving the goal of reducing the shootings of abortionists?
Following the moral precepts of liberals, I believe the correct position is: If you don’t believe in shooting abortionists, then don’t shoot one.”

That looked like a normal head-bob/nod. Half the time I greet people on the street just like that, or say thanks at the deli like that, etc etc etc.
Godsimage 5:34 PM I agree!
I just posted in another thread CNN actually had an interview of a woman who chose not to have a late term abortion but instead had her baby who died 12 hours later.
This is the ONLY news story I have been able to come across that supports a pro life view from any of the “news” media except Fox.

Question: If pbho were once a ‘muslim’ as his childhood school records from Indonesia indicate and he subsequently ‘converted’ to christianity under the tutelage of the everRant Jeremiah ‘damn america’ Wright where is the grief and anger from the mullahs of the muslim world?
Where are the ‘fatwahs’ for the bho’s blaspemy of rejecting the ‘muslim messenger and arab prophet’ and publicly recoginizing the christian God and Jewish Messiah?
What does the koran say about one who turns from the one true way? What should be done to that man/woman?
Maybe pbho was never a muslim or maybe pbho never rejected the prophet and his god and never received the Savior.
Remember these extremists became apoplectic when the mere image of the ‘messenger’ appeared in a Danish cartoon. The irreverence of the ‘humor’ was secondary to the sacrilege of publishing an drawing of his imagined likeness.
Just wondering! Got to keep the neurons active and the synaps firing.

Hey, a guy named Randell Terry posted the same comment as Colsen, on a different thread. Hmmmmm…
Alexandra,
Nobody bows like that where I live. What was he thinking, that he was with the Pope?
Well, the big headline for most of today on Matt Drudge, http://drudgereport.com/, has been about Obama’s Muslim roots. Here’s the story connected with it: http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2009/06/abc-news-jake-tapper-and-sunlen-miller-report-the-other-day-we-heard-a-comment-from-a-white-house-aide-that-neverwould-have.html
Also, keep in mind the NBC connections with the Obama love-fest. NBC is owned by GE (which of course also owns MSNBC and CNBC). The CEO of GE is Jeffrey Immelt, who just happens to be one of Obama’s close advisors. GE stock has plummeted to the point where it’s almost worthless, but with the green agenda Obama is pushing, the company stands to make billions, not just from that, but from one other little thing the president is pushing so much: healthcare reform. We all know that means socialized medicine and GE stands to make huge gains from that with computerized health records Obama keep stressing are so important. Gee, do you think maybe he got that idea from Jefft? Does anyone remember how to spell “conflict of interests” or what it means?
O’Reilly is one of the few people to point this out. You sure won’t hear about it on NBC or MSNBC. People should be outraged by this.
Fret not yourself because of evildoers, neither be envious against those who work unrighteousness (that which is not upright or in right standing with God).
For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.
Be still and rest in the Lord; wait for Him and patiently lean yourself upon Him; fret not yourself because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked devices to pass.
Cease from anger and forsake wrath; fret not yourself — it tends only to evildoing.
For evildoers shall be cut off, but those who wait and hope and look for the Lord [in the end] shall inherit the earth.
For yet a little while, and the evildoers will be no more; though you look with care where they used to be, they will not be found.
The wicked plot against the [uncompromisingly] righteous (the upright in right standing with God); they gnash at them with their teeth.
The Lord laughs at [the wicked], for He sees that their own day [of defeat] is coming.
The wicked draw the sword and bend their bows to cast down the poor and needy, to slay those who walk uprightly (blameless in conduct and in conversation).
The swords [of the wicked] shall enter their own hearts, and their bows shall be broken
For the arms of the wicked shall be broken, but the Lord upholds the [consistently] righteous.
The Lord knows the days of the upright and blameless, and their heritage will abide forever.
They shall not be put to shame in the time of evil; and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.
But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the Lord shall be as the fat of lambs [that is consumed in smoke] and as the glory of the pastures. They shall vanish; like smoke shall they consume away.
I have seen a wicked man in great power and spreading himself like a green tree in its native soil,
Yet he passed away, and behold, he was not; yes, I sought and inquired for him, but he could not be found.
Ken, thanks for a great post!!
Nobody bows like that where I live. What was he thinking, that he was with the Pope?
Well, Janet, as I just said, people do that all the time where I’m from, myself included, so it’s certainly plausible that he didn’t think he was with the Pope. I have never mistaken my 75-year old landlord, the laundromat owner, or a fellow freelancer for the Pope, and yet I frequently nod to them in greeting or passing, and they do the same to me.
“That looked like a normal head-bob/nod. Half the time I greet people on the street just like that, or say thanks at the deli like that, etc etc etc.”
Alexandra, please.
What, Jasper? It’s freaking ridiculous to point at one guy nodding to another and claim that it’s a bow. I see people do it all the time — fewer women than men but whatever.
Most of the babies Dr. Tiller killed were healthy.
He did abortions for the mother’s psychological “health” which is
bogus for numerous reasons among them:
1) If your baby is going to die anyway, why spend the money to abort?
2) Women who have an abortion are 3-5 times more likely to commit suicide than women who deliver. Abortion is a risk factor for depression and the single greatest risk for suicide. It is not psychologically therapeutic.
———–
However, it is only a minor gratification to know that pro abortion folk hail from the ranks of the illogical and uninformed, as xx’s post illustrates.
She comes to harass us, but instead embarrasses herself.
That a bow, not a nod.
I never see people bowing to one another except in Asia. …
..
Rush Limbaugh refers to the MSM now as the “State run media” we should all refer to the MSM as that..
“Tiller was protected not only by a praetorian guard of elected Democrats, but also by the protective coloration of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America …

The ELCA is one of those churches that thinks they can just vote for the theology they want. At least atheists are honest enough to say they don’t recognize the existence or authority of a deity, and have the sense to sleep in on Sunday.
I never see people bowing to one another except in Asia. …
Well, I see it all the time — not bowing, but nodding, like in the video. Where oh where does the battle of anecdotal evidence leave us? Is it more likely that a reporter confused Obama for the Pope, or that he merely comes from a culture/region where nodding in greeting, agreement, or parting is not unheard of?
Kurt Colsen:
Your hatred of Christians and ignorance of Jesus’ teaching is evident. The Fundamentalist Christians that I know and love and who serve the hungry, the poor, the needy, the drug addicts, the prostitutes, the inner city kids, the unwed mothers, and even those that have been victimized by abortion, etc., do not go around advocating the murder of anyone, got that ANYONE. My Bible says we are to shun such evildoers.
Here’s a quote right from Proverbs, you know that book in the “BIBLE” that you claim none of our laws or Judeo-Christian ethic were derived from:
Proverbs 1:8-21:
8 Listen, my son, to your father’s instruction
and do not forsake your mother’s teaching.
9 They will be a garland to grace your head
and a chain to adorn your neck.
10 My son, if sinners entice you,
do not give in to them.
11 If they say, “Come along with us;
let’s lie in wait for someone’s blood,
let’s waylay some harmless soul;
12 let’s swallow them alive, like the grave,
and whole, like those who go down to the pit;
13 we will get all sorts of valuable things
and fill our houses with plunder;
14 throw in your lot with us,
and we will share a common purse”-
15 my son, do not go along with them,
do not set foot on their paths;
16 for their feet rush into sin,
they are swift to shed blood.
17 How useless to spread a net
in full view of all the birds!
18 These men lie in wait for their own blood;
they waylay only themselves!
19 Such is the end of all who go after ill-gotten gain; it takes away the lives of those who get it.
20 Wisdom calls aloud in the street, she raises her voice in the public squares;
21 at the head of the noisy streets she cries out, in the gateways of the city she makes her speech:
22 “How long will you simple ones love your simple ways?
How long will mockers delight in mockery
and fools hate knowledge?
23 If you had responded to my rebuke,
I would have poured out my heart to you
and made my thoughts known to you.
24 But since you rejected me when I called
and no one gave heed when I stretched out my hand,
25 since you ignored all my advice and would not accept my rebuke,
26 I in turn will laugh at your disaster;
I will mock when calamity overtakes you-
Now Kurt, gathering from your command of the English language I assume you’re a lawyer. Probably a tort lawyer, but I have to admit it’s a guess only. But did you see any fine print there, or implied wink of the eye? Did not God Himself say “if you commit murder I’m gonna smoke ya”? Ring a bell Kurt? Murder and be murdered…..and it’s a warning from the Creator Himself…..which of course, you don’t believe but for which their is overabundant and overwhelming evidence for.
In fact, Jesus says that if we did this kind of thing we are no followers of His.
So, while I understand why it is hard for someone like yourself to understand this because of your own prejudices, it is not uncommon and not very original or enlightened thinking. It’s origin has a common source. Have you ever seen a salmon swimming upstream? No? I didn’t think so. You might want to try it.
Looking at your post from a strictly logical point of view, it contradicts itself. You start out accusing Fundamentalist Christians as guilty of the murder of Dr. Tiller and then you say these people are not following Christ. Well duh, then they are NOT Christians are they? I guess you would also have to accept the fact that President Obama is not a Christian either because he does not follow Christ either then if he’s advocating the demise of unborn children.
Know this Mr. Colsen, assumption is the lowest form of knowledge.
Uh, I think the Establishment Clause says this, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion”…together with the Free Exercise Clause, which adds “… or prohibiting the free exercise thereof” which is exactly what you are proposing. By your own definition you are a free speech terrorist, a freedom of religion terrorist and I know of a few million GI’s that have given their lives that would disagree with you as well as my Air Force combat pilot son.
What’s amazing about your post is that you place anyone who is pro-life or who viewed what George Tiller did for a living as reprehensible ALL in the same “group”.
Did you not know that there are pro-life atheists as well Mr. Colsen, even on this site? The definition of an atheist, i.e, a-theist, means one who believes there is no God, like a-symmetrical-not symmetrical, like a-typical-not typical. To an atheist God is a NOT. I guess even one who doesn’t believe in God as well as the 20 or 30 billion people who lived before Roe v. Wade, if they were and are totally honest with themselves, recognized, that yes, it is a human being, yes, it has a right to live, and yes, killing it is murder and it wasn’t above their pay grade.
My friend, your mindset is no different than the very people you point fingers at. Remember this, when one points a finger at someone there’s always three pointing back. In fact your are a free-speech terrorist. You are a member of the free-speech Taliban. In fact, what your mindset and the hatred in your heart reveals is a desire to do to Christians what Al-Qaida wants to do to Christians.
You have no moral high ground here Mr. Colsen. No, you live in a sewer of relativistic thinking. How anyone can justify the murder of an innocent child in the womb is beyond comprehension. If Mr. Tiller was wrong just once out of the 60,000 times that he terminated a baby, he is a murderer, not a moral and ethical man as you claim.
While I strongly denounce and condemn the murderer of George Tiller and do not agree with any organization that promotes violence against anyone, I also strongly denounce your calling on the Federal Government to restrain me or anyone else from the right to free speech and the free exercise of my faith.
And Mr. Colsen….to say very ignorant things like “this is not a Christian nation” and to quote your president (who by the way erroneously said today that “this was one of the largest Muslim countries in the world”), is a catastrophic lie.
I strongly recommend that you get this book, “The Christian Life and Character of the Civil Institutions of the United States”…..study it, read it, ponder it and then come back here and yes with a straight face, tell me that this country is not a Christian nation or rather, it was and the crazies have taken over.
In the least, it’s 1060 pages will probably keep you preoccupied and away from this site poisoning the minds of the gullible for quite a long time.
I wonder if the ELCA would say that to the Virgin Mother around Christmas Time? After all, Jesus was once a developing life in the womb. So was John the Baptist, who “leapt in the womb” when Mary greeted her relative Elizabeth. And Elizabeth was 6 months pregnant at the time.
“Well, I see it all the time — not bowing, but nodding, like in the video”
Alexandra,
When one is nodding, they don’t move their back, only their head. Notice how butt kisser Brian Williams moves his back.
Hi Alexandra,
I think you are right, the more I look at it, I think it was a respectful, slow nod. FYI, if I did that in church it would be considered a bow of reverence, but hey, he wasn’t in church.
Bowing at the waist would be especially reverential.
No offense, Jasper :)
one does not move their back to nod.
The bigger issue is that we do not have an objective media, they are clearly biased and consistantly covering for democrats and promoting liberal causes.
whenever there is a scandal with a democrat pol, their party name is almost never mentioned, unlike for republicans.
For proof, visit newsbusters.org
Correction. pbho did not “convert to Christianity.” He converted to Black Liberation Theology. BLT is not Christianity in the same way the White supremacist David Duke’s church is not Christian.
The way pbho is going out of his way to appease Islamists, it would not be unreasonable to suspect he his BTL attendance for 20 years was simply a cover, that he has never left Islamism.
Hence the weak response to the murder of Marines by an Islamist and strong words support Tiller the Killer.
Mark:
Didn’t St. Paul warn us of preaching or believing “another Gospel”? Not a Gospel of grace but a Gospel that blames everyone else for your own problems and seeks vengeance.
Did St. Paul say, let the person who preached another Gospel “be accursed”, which is a nice way of saying “let him go to hell”? Wow, a saint aaying let that person go to hell. “Gee, that’s not the type of Churchianity I hear in my church. That’s not nice. We need hate speech agasint St. Paul”.
Here it is:
Galatians 1:6-9 (New American Standard Bible)
Perversion of the Gospel
6I am amazed that you are so quickly deserting Him who called you by the grace of Christ, for a different gospel;
7which is really not another; only there are some who are disturbing you and want to distort the gospel of Christ.
8But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed!
9As we have said before, so I say again now, if any man is preaching to you a gospel contrary to what you received, he is to be accursed!
I don’t understand how people can be pro-life for the unborn, but also pro-war, pro-death penalty, etc. This is all become more about politics than religious belief. Beside there is no where in the bible that condemns abortion, yet there are many exerepts that promote murder of women and children, rape, etc. Why is that? Abortion has become a wedge issue to incite extremists in this country. Those willing to kill, bomb, etc. Yes they are terrorists.
Abortion should be avoided at all costs, but when people start using inflammatory language such as Bill O’Reilly using “Tiller the Baby Killer” it is used only to insight and justify violence by the christian fringe.

Chad – what do you consider violent?
Well Chad if your gonna use the Bible for everything, God certainly wasn’t against war. Does that make Him against life? He had the Israelites engage in war to take land away from the Canaanites. God often used war to punish the Israelites. And if one believes the Fatima visions, the Blessed Mother warned that if man did not mend his ways, a second more terrible war would follow World War I (which it did).
Not all prolifers are pro-war and pro-death penalty. There are times when war is justified; in self-defense and to punish an expanding agressor for example.
There are no times when abortion is justified. It is an act of extreme violence against a helpless, innocent baby.
And I have no problem calling Tiller, Tiller the killer. He killed babies. Period.
The bigger issue is that we do not have an objective media, they are clearly biased and consistantly covering for democrats and promoting liberal causes.
So talk about that! Posting a video of someone nodding and MAYBE moving their back 1/2″ in the process makes it look like you’re really stretching to find examples of this.
Ironically, the murder of Tiller, and more broadly the decision of anti-choice extremists to return to the era of domestic terrorism, murders and clinic bombings of 1993-1998 will keep abortion safe and legal for decades. A week ago FOCA had a less than 10% chance of passage. Today, 50% or better.
While opinions vary widely on abortion policy, 99.9% of Americans hate terrorism. The decision to try to achieve by terrorism what failed so miserably at the ballot box and in the legislatures will doom the “pro life” movement.

Yep, the head bow is a pretty common thing where I come from. I see it most among men on formal occasions, especially when one of them holds a high office. I remember doing it myself when I met someone who held high political office – and it was a person I disagreed with! It says about respect for the office rather than worship of the individual’s views. Please note that the President also gave a head bow in response.
I cringed at the President’s bow to the saudi king. The President made a mistake. The Saudi king was also extremely rude not to give an equivalent bow (which may have been what the President expected him to do)
Americans hate terrorism. Yep. That includes abortion.
“And I have no problem calling Tiller, Tiller the killer. He killed babies. Period.”
Same here, angel. I believe I read something somewhere about “speaking plainly”.

Yes, Tiller should not have been murdered. We all agree. We have all be unequivocally condemning the murder as evil.
angel,
I agree. I don’t know anyone who is pro-war. I’m one of those pro-lifers who is against the death penalty. I don’t understand how abortion and killing a criminal are compatible.

The king should have bowed back? Please Margaret. American presidents are not supposed to bow to anyone and expect no one to bow to them. The saudi king was not being rude, Obama was being totally inappropriate and an embarassment to our country.
