  • Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life says the MN Senate has rejected a proposed law to require abortion facilities to be licensed and inspected. The safety of women clearly isn’t as important as that of dogs and cats:

“Abortion centers perform invasive, outpatient surgery,” said MCCL Legislative Director Andrea Rau. “It makes no sense that these surgical centers should be excluded from the health and safety standards that apply to other outpatient surgical centers. This bill is necessary for us to ensure that the very unsafe conditions uncovered in other states never happen in Minnesota….

The state licenses tattoo parlors, cosmetology salons and even dog and cat breeders — but not abortion facilities,” Rau added. “It is time for this special exemption for abortion to end so that the state can ensure a degree of basic safety for women.”

by Kelli Kansans for Life reports that the late George Tiller’s “rubber stamper” abortionist, Ann Kristin Neuhaus, is continuing her attempts to get her medical license revocation overturned: This past January, the [KS Board of Healing Arts] issued a second revocation against Neuhaus on the single issue of incomplete medical files for those 11 teens. Radical pro-abortion group plans “dramatic” confrontations next week at pro-life events in four major cities

stop-patriarchy-ut-2Stop Patriarchy is a pro-abortion group led by Communist Sunsara Tayler that believes “revolution” and a “counteroffensive” are needed to “radically reset” what it correctly sees as escalating “attacks on abortion.”

One tactic of Stop Patriarchy is to engage in “confrontational, dramatic, non-violent” protests.

Because the “war on women… is getting worse,” Stop Patriarchy is upping its game, planning protests next week in Washington, D.C., Oakland and San Francisco, California, and Austin, Texas, in conjunction with annual pro-life marches and rallies….

  • At ProLife365, Kevin Kukla responds to those who complain pro-lifers are “single issue voters,” as if that’s somehow a bad thing when it comes to the most basic human right. He points to an illustration from Fr. Frank Pavone of Priests for Life:

  • Fletcher Armstrong has put in a request to City Hall in Asheville, North Carolina, asking them to afford his pro-life group the same right to display a banner on the building as was given to a rainbow flag celebrating the striking down of a statewide ban on gay marriage. While he is still awaiting an official response, he has received some local TV coverage for his request.

Wendy Davis reveals her late-term “quieting of the heart” abortion

Wendy Davis late-term abortion

One of the plot lines in a movie I watched over the weekend involved a pregnant mother. The film was set in the 1940s, and I thought how blissfully ignorant were the days before ultrasounds and prenatal diagnoses gave mothers carrying ill or handicapped children the choice to bear them when nature decided or kill them beforehand.

Had Texas state senator and gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis been pregnant back then she would not have imagined the late-term baby girl doing flips inside her was “suffering.” Rather, Davis would have put her hand on her belly and smiled. Instead, quoting from Davis’ upcoming book, Forgetting to be Afraid, via the AP:

Stanek weekend question: Does it bother you that pro-choicers portray pro-lifers as violent?

Mom suffers PTSD but considers late-term abortionist “angel”

by Kelli Smith was sent to a Boulder, Colorado, clinic run by Dr. Warren Hern [pictured], one of only four late-term abortion providers in the U.S. Smith had only days to arrange for the procedure, which would cost $25,000 — money she had to borrow from family members. She says that she and her husband […]
