Jivin J’s Life Links 4-26-10
by JivinJ, host of the blog, JivinJehoshaphat
She was born with 14 broken bones and resigned herself to never having children because experts feared that her tiny frame could not cope with a pregnancy. But she accidentally fell pregnant and defied doctors’ advice to have an abortion.
Amanda said: ‘Doctors advised me to have a termination and we did think about it. I didn’t want to die and there was a real and likely possibility that the baby growing inside me would kill me.
‘But at the same time I felt a strong love developing for our unborn child I just couldn’t dismiss. We both wanted this baby so much.’
This documentary will take audiences into the day-to-day lives of these inspiring doctors, providing audiences with a fresh perspective on this controversial issue. Dr. Hern and Dr. Carhart have met separately with the filmmakers and both are excited about the project and have agreed to provide as much access as possible.
Rather than presenting these doctors as one-dimensional symbols of a divisive political battle, our film will use their everyday routines, personal convictions, and community relationships as gateways forunderstanding these brave individuals and the many women whose lives they touch.
I wonder if film makers Martha Shane and Lara Wilson will have the courage to include footage of late-term aborted children in this documentary.

I don’t think any documentary about abortionists would be considered “glowing”.
“Dripping with blood”, maybe…but never “glowing”.
“and the many women whose lives they touch.”
Oooooh. I am sure that they will include interviews of post abortive women who regret ever meeting Tiller and Carhart and allowing them to kill their babies, right??
Awesome!!!
Great, make a glowing documentary for our children and call it “What Not To Be When You Grow Up”. UGH.
Bravo Amanda!! Aidan is beautiful!!!
I always think “fell pregnant” is such a weird phrase. Either it sounds like “fell ill”, which makes pregnancy sound like a bad thing, or it’s like, “I slipped and fell and now I’m pregnant!”
I continue to be amazed by this “trust women” slogan. Yeah, because women have a magical power that ensures that they’ll ALWAYS MAKE THE RIGHT DECISION…
Out For The Count: Why Levels Of sperm In Men Are Falling

Levels of ‘viable’ sperm in human males are falling – and scientists believe they now understand the cause. Infertility can begin in the womb, says Steve Connor.
“Public concern about the adverse effects of environmental chemicals on spermatogenesis in adult men are, in general, not supported by the available data for humans. Where adverse effects of environmental chemicals have been shown, they are usually in an occupational setting rather than applying to the general population,” he says.
So although scientists are closing in on the critical window of foetal development in the womb that determines a man’s fertility status in later life, they are still not sure about what it is that could be affecting this change in his reproductive status. But one thing is clear, it is his mother who almost certainly holds the key.

I believe I will rename this article ‘Eve’s Revenge’.
When representatives for Planned Parenthood and the the United Natios were asked to comment, their response was: “So what’s the problem?”
This increasing shortabe of virile males does create a niche market demand that can be satisfied by males with a proven track record.
‘Have sperm, will travel.’
‘Clean urine also available upon request.’
This is a tailor made moonlighting job for the pros in the NBA. I know they are basketball players but their ‘batting average’ seems to be quite a bit higher than the ‘norm’ for the males cited in this study.

Marauder, I’ve always found the “trust women” thing to be a huge crock as well.
I mean, I don’t say “trust men” to defend them killing thier mistress or something. People, both men and women, can make horrible choices. We shouldn’t automatically trust everyone to make the right choice.
If a woman is standing in the late term clinic, she has obviously made a series of wrong choices that are about to culminate in the worst choice of her life. That woman doesn’t need to be “trusted” she needs to be talked off the ledge.
I agree, Marauder. If getting pregnant was as easy as falling, I’d be hitting the floor..LOL!

as for the ‘glowing’ documentary..
“the many women whose lives they touch” ???
You mean whose lives they ENDANGER, and whose DEAD BABIES they touch!
I wonder if the makers of the “glowing” documentary plan to speak with Christin Gilbert’s family about how LeRoy Carhart “touched her life,” resulting in her untimely death following a late-term abortion he performed on her at Tiller’s clinic in 2005.
Aidan is beautiful! What a brave mom! I am so happy for them!
Pamela…ugh. I feel your pain. I have been trying for months and months now. I can’t understand why I’m not pregnant yet. Meanwhile a rash of friends have announced they’re expecting and it hurts.
I will pray for you (and selfishly, me too! ha ha)
Children are treasures. They are something to be desired and treasured, not trash to be thrown away.
Andrea Yates popped into my mind and the image of her children’s tiny coffins and the phrase “trust women” took on a whole new meaning.
Evidence of the media’s complete self-deception.
They are to be greatly pitied.
Legislature is in session here in Oklahoma trying to garner enough votes to override Governor Henry’s veto. Pray they are successful!

Once again, another anti abort uninformed opinion. Women who have late term abortions are there for a reason and it’s not a bad hair day despite the anti abort propaganda. But I guess it’s “God’s” will if giving birth will cause a death. Just nature’s way, praise Jesus…
And Ken, your racism, vis-a-vis the NBA comment, is duly noted. Guess pure, Christian white dudes don’t mess around.
I never said they were having late term abortions because of a “bad hair day.” I don’t know where you got that idea. The fact is, a woman isn’t going to Dr. Tiller unless she has made a bad decision, be it ignoring a pregnancy until the third trimester or aborting after a poor prenatal diagnosis.
No one went to Tiller because they would die if they continued their pregnancy. His own records showed that fact. It’s also immediately obvious if you take 3 seconds to thinka about the situation. Any hospital in the country will induce labor/ do a c-section if the woman’s life is in danger. Then they’ll try to save the baby. There is never a need to travel half way across the country, inject poison in the baby’s heart, insert seaweed into the cervix, wait 3 days alone in a hotel room, and then deliver in a non-ambulatory basement clinic.
Sorry, Artemis, it just doesn’t hold up.
“Women who have late term abortions are there for a reason and it’s not a bad hair day despite the anti abort propaganda. But I guess it’s “God’s” will if giving birth will cause a death.”
According to Martin Haskell, who came up with partial-birth abortion, 80% of them were purely elective back when they were still legal. I don’t think changing the method of late-term abortion has probably changed that statistic too much.
Blind trust will cause a lot of pain in one’s life. I have a master’s degree from The School of Hard Knocks.
The blanket statement, “Trust Women” is ridiculous.
I give trust only after it is earned. Unfortunately, I have found that pro-aborts don’t hold my trust for long.
This is off topic, but I just saw the story on the news of a mother who put herself on top of a mattress to hold it down so her children would be protected from the tornado. She died. Her 3 children lived because of her actions.
It really serves as a stark contrast between her sacrifcial love for her children and the child-sacrifice of abortion.
I saw that story tonight too, Lauren. It broke my heart. :(

artheeabigot,
In case it has escaped your self-limited power of observation, while most of the players in the NBA have an abundance of pigmentation some are european immigrants, some are from China, some are from south of the american border.
The only group that outdoes them as far as philandering, whoremongering, wife beating and drunk driving are the members of Congress.
If I understand my mixed bag of genes correctly then the single largest portion is Cherokee, with some Jewish and European thrown in for good measure.
That alone does not preclude me from being a ‘racist’ tho my Japanese-Canadian wife and our five children might quarrel with your assumption that I am white or a racist.
About the only thing you got right about me is the ‘christian’ and ‘dude’ part.
Neither of the two was by my ‘choosing’ so neither is a source of pride, but I am delighted about both.

They did it! The Oklahoma House overrode the veto!!!
The vote was 81-14. They only needed 78 to override it! PRAISE GOD!!!
I doff my Stetson to my neighbors and my Cherokee kinsmen on the other side of the Red River.
OU are awesome!

God bless Amanda for being so courageous. Shame on the doctors who advised her to terminate her unborn baby Aidan. Praying for a cure for her brittle bone disease. There are some commenters on the Daily Mail website who are castigating her for keeping an open mind about having another child. Yikes.
An aside – I have read that a woman’s bones become more “flexible” during pregnancy as a way of allowing the baby to move through the pelvis area during labor. I wonder if this phenomenon may have helped Amanda during her pregnancy. Pehaps a medical person could comment.
