In a recent online op-ed for the Grand Rapids Press, Snyder says he opposes tax-funded abortions and Obama’s health care plan because “it fails to protect the sanctity of life.”
Question for Rick: Is the sanctity of human life protected by legalizing the killing of human embryos for research?…
The public is aware that science is a “long and arduous process.” But ESCR was not sold as basic, speculative science but as an alchemical process that, with sufficient funding, could turn “discarded” embryos into a cure for grandmother’s Alzheimer’s within a few years. The idea that therapeutic treatments were not imminent would have come as a surprise to the average Prop. 71 voter.
Had they been told they were giving more money to their bankrupt state to buy petri dishes today for “basic research” they would have balked. Had they been told the truth–that such research will never, ever produce such cures–they would have been outraged at having been defrauded.
Instead of exposing this massive fraud–as a responsible journalist would do–Lehrman turns into a propagandist for the people who perpetuated this multi-billion dollar boondoggle.
The video features Jonathan Garlick, who grew 3-dimensional tissues from human embryonic stem cells last year. It unfortunately includes the ridiculous promise that stem cells will cure basically everything. His lab is also working with iPS cells.
Hi folks,
I very much like what I’m hearing about ethical stem cells from bone marrow. But a few decades back I happened to be listening to a radio-science program and heard this (wrinkle). [This was well before any stem cell research effor
A young girl had been detected (in the womb), as having a DNA problem that her life was threatened. The longest a person lived with this condition was 1 year (after birth). The doctor-researcher who tried something ‘new’, was at this child’s fourth birthday party and pronounced her cured.
He had injected adult marrow cells into her fetsal bones, to ‘teach’ proliferating cells how it is done properly. The researcher was from Chicago University and he speculated that this technique could be applied to hundreds of conditions.
Sorry I can’t remember more. Perhaps someone good at research could find out more. There is a view that: since DNA does not change, a poor outcome/severe-disabilities-must-follow. This might help dispel that such a prognosis does not prevent a good treatment.

Rabbi Receives Death Threats Over Helen Thomas Video
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/06/09/rabbi-receives-death-threats-helen-thomas-video/
The New York rabbi who videotaped veteran White House correspondent Helen Thomas telling Jews to “get the hell out of Palestine” says he has received numerous death threats and thousands of pieces of hate mail in the days since Thomas’ abrupt retirement.
“This ticker tape keeps coming in,” Nesenoff told FoxNews.com. “We got one specific one saying, ‘We’re going to kill the Jews; watch your back.'”
Rabbi David Nesenoff said he is facing an “overload” of threatening e-mails calling for a renewed Holocaust and targeting his family — a barrage of hate he said he planned to report to the police on Wednesday.

One must remember it was yamlmuke wearing Rabbi Nesenoff, who informed Thomas he was there for White House Jewish Heritage Celebration BEFORE he asked Helen, “Any comments on Israel?”
And then Helen Thomas answered the innocuos question as forthrightly as it was asked with cell phone video camera rolling.
This was not an ‘ambush’.
Then after uttering a gasp of stunned astonishment Nesenoff posed a follow up question,”Oooooh. Any better comments than these?”
[I believe Nesenoff was being gracious and offerring her an opportunity to mitigate her first burst of bigotry.]
But Thomas, who already has one foot in her mouth, proceeded to amplify on her first incendiary insult and ends up with both feet in both sides of her mouth.
Then I believ a young female voice in the background says, “Helen is quite old(?)”
We shold all have friends like that who try to save us when we are behaving foolishly.
Then instead of back tracking, Helen forges foreward full speed and drives right off the cliff like Thelma and Louise. What a way to end a career. Quite a punctuation mark which, if one looks closely, resembles a swastika.
Helen Thomas is a journalist with a reputation for combative and provacative questioning. She should have been observant enough to note the obvious: The questioner is a practicing Jew and his colleague also a practicing Jew are recording the conversation.
Nesenoff has the audacity to post the video clip on the web and now he and his family are the subject of death threats and calls for a new holocaust.
Progressive liberal democRATS will probably claim those call are coming from white supremecists and right wing religious fanatics, not Jew hating muslim extremists.
Next thing you know these democRATS will attempt to convince us that b.o. is a ‘moderate’!

Ken, I think that’s what Obama’s trying to do..for the sake of the next elections in Nov….which is getting the ACLU all riled up.
