Democrats fume but can’t dispute truth: Obama is the most pro-abortion prez evah
“We’re getting to ask the real question – does abortion take the life of a child?… If it does, then those of us sitting here in the chambers of freedom live in the midst of the greatest human genocide in the history of humanity,” [Congressman Trent] Franks [R-AZ, pictured right] said in his opening statement.
Franks, who is considering a run for the Senate, attacked an amendment that he said would allow President Obama, “the most radically pro-abortion president in the history of the country, [to] have [an] easily available mechanism to block the implementation of this legislation.”
Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX) took offense to that characterization: “Without doing a chronological analysis of presidents starting with George Washington,” she said, “I would appreciate if we could restrain our comments.”
Franks responded that “the record is clear. Mr. Obama certainly is on the record as the most pro-abortion president in history.… I wish it weren’t true, I really do.”
~ The Hill, on debate and subsequent passage in the House Judiciary Committee March 3 of HR 3, the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act
The Truth sometimes hurts doesn’t it Sheila?
C’mon Texas, you can vote her out.

Way to go Arizona! Now we will have to start praying for Mr. Franks for surely he is about to find out who is real friends are.

Praxedes,
ms Lee is like venereal disease. The gift that keeps on giving.
Re-districting may help.
On the basis of the last census Texas will gain some additional seats in Congress.
The 2012 elections will tell the tale.
Myrtle,
It is more likely Franks will find out who is friends aren’t and how nasty, vile and crooked his ‘enemy’ is.

If abortion is not murder then why WHY are they so offended when they or one of their own is labeled “pro-abortion” or an “abortionist” etc… They view abortion as a dirty word and want to distance themselves from it yet deny that abortion is anything but liberation for women. I don’t get it!

I wouldn’t count on Jackson-Lee doing any research about who was the most pro-abortion president, starting with George Washington. When she was given a tour of the Houston Space Center she asked if this was where they worked with the men who landed on Mars.

With relatively inexpenive availability of wireless communication devices and the internet and the increasing cost of transportation and energy to keep large buildings comfortable that are only occupied 5 days a week when school is in session and the high costs associated with staffing and maintaining these ‘educational edifices’ it is time we as a society re-evaluate the ‘government school’ systems.
One day these ‘government school’ buildings will become like the huge cathedrals in europe, monuments that outlived the reasons for constructing them.
My cousin is a retired school teacher who recently forwared an email to me which was promoting the idea of paying our govenrment school teachers more.
The email suggested if we just payed them the going rate for ‘baby sitting’ our children eight hours a day and multiplied it by the number of students they chaparoned during the day, then the average income of government school teachers would increase dramatically. It als suggested the ‘baby sitters’ with masters degrees should receive at least the minimum wage.
[I am on record for advocating more money and lower taxes for everyone.]
Of coures I focused in on the ‘baby siiter’ part of the email, not the teacher’s compensation. The ‘government schools’ have become giant day care centers which provide supervision for children from families where both parents work outside the home or where there is a single parent who supports her/his family.
Even with the expenditure of increasing amounts of tax dollars the quality of the ‘education’ provided continues to decrease. [This is an inherent problem associated with monopolies.]
Here is a novel concept. Privatize the government education system and let the free market determine the most effective, efficient and economical method of providing education and training for students.
Stop the federal government from confiscating money from it’s citizens and wasting more than half of it in the process of re-distributing it.
Stop the state and local governments from confiscating money from all it’s citizens and inefficiently spending it to maintain the monuments to a concept that has run it’s course.
[Hal , o Hal! Pay attention please. I am going to give Ted Kennedy credit for doing a good thing, even if it was inadvertently. Then Senator Ted Kennedy ordered his staff to do some research about public and education and in the course of their investigation they unearthed this little known fact: When the state of Massachuesetts enacted it’s first compulsory attendance law the literacy rate was x. Since then the literacy rate for the state of Massachussetts has always been less than x. Thank you Ted for giving homeschoolers everywhere the confirmation that we could educate our children at least as well as the state and in the overwhelming majority of cases we have done a much better job.]
Leave it up to inidvidual parents to determine how their children will be educated.
‘Not the church, not the state, parents will choose how to educate’.
Taking control from the state and returning it to the parents.
Progressive, liberal, humanist everywhere are breaking out in hives at just the thought.

missy Lee,
I will make it easy for you.
Provide us the name of just one president who has been a greater advocate for abortion on demand than the current occupant of the non-color specific domicile in Washington, D. C. at 1500 Pennsylvania Avenue.
And when you have done that please indulge me by entertaining one more question.
When your momma was pregnant with you, what species of embryo/fetus was present in her uterus?
Don’t bother asking b o.
He has claimed the answer to questions like that are is above his pay grade. [Increasing his compensation will not help him. He knows the answer. He is just being disengenuine.]
Can you be intellectually honest?

It’s the intention behind the words that count, not the actual words themselves. If you’re using those words in an obviously negative light, it’s going to be taken as such. On its own, the descriptive term “pro-abortion” doesn’t bother me, because taken literally, it simply connotes support for abortion in some unspecified way, and the pro-choice position promotes the legality of abortion, so I think that counts (although many people are pro-choice while personally disliking abortion itself, which is a concept that nobody here seems to be able to wrap their heads around). Knowing that “pro-life” people simply use the term “pro-abortion” as a codeword for “baby-killing whore”, however, is where it crosses the line from innocuous to offensive. It implies disrespect and spite towards anyone who supports abortion rights.

All your opinion of course, Joanie.

SHAME on ANYONE who calls a woman who has had an abortion a “baby killing whore.”
I have been called that btw.

Man, who is really saying that women who have abortions are “baby-killing whores?” I’ve only read one comment on this site that said something along those lines, and the man who said it was bombarded with reproaches by everyone else who comments on this site. Granted, I don’t read all of the comments, not by a long shot.
I agree with Carla- shame on anyone who calls a woman who has had an abortion a “baby-killing whore.”

Thanks for the nice comments about my former boss. A great man who is missed.
Regarding public schools, I think you and I would probably agree that some kind of overhaul is necessary. There’s a reason most people think of middle school and high school as some of the worst experiences of their lives. There has to be a better way. People are putting some energy into that question, and hopefully, some new ideas will be tried and we’ll get some improvements. I don’t have a problem with home schooling, I know a some people who have done that, with some success. Ranging from very liberal, hippie types, to some pretty conservative religious types.

Wow, way to project!
We use the term pro-abortion because it is far more honest that saying “pro-choice,” which is just a term that pro-aborts hide behind. Why do people who support abortion have such a hard time saying so? It seems to me that its because you know that abortion is the killing of a child, and that you can’t ignore that fact, so you hide behind all your double speak.
John,
Charity is not the government’s job. In the hands of the government, it just turns into socialism or even communism, which innevitably fails, and just makes EVERYBODY poorer.
Charity is a responsibility of the people. And the people who you’re saying are fools that hate the poor and “whose concern for the unborn inevitably ends at birth” are the ones making millions of dollars worth of charitable donations to help the poor in America and around the world. We’re the ones volunteering in soup kitchens and church food pantries. And what about CPCs that provide tons of help to women and their children?
All that plus the fact that poverty is never an excuse for killing.

And when I said millions of dollars, I was mistaken, it’s actually billions.
Also, Kristina, very true. I see a double standard when its horribly offensive to call the “pro-abortion” but they continue to call us “anti-choice” (and the html code for italics is {em} text here {/em} except, of course, you rplace the {} with <> )

Robert says “Obama REALLY wants to do something about abortion by providing much more help to poor pregnant women and the poor in general, and if his plans are not stymied by the Republicans, ,his health care policies could very well PREVENT an enormous number of abortions.”
Any evidence to support this assertion?

Pro-abortion is what you are Joan. Same with others who think like you. I am watching a situation right now along with other pro-lifers on this site where a pregnant mom is being threatened and shunned until she consents to an abortion she has said over and over she DOES NOT WANT. So… are they pro-CHOICE or pro-abortion? If pro-choice why aren’t they respecting her CHOICE to give birth?
Pro-abortion people shut down CPC’s that offer help to women who CHOOSE to have their babies. Why, if they are for choice, do they want to shut them down? The clinics are there for the moms who CHOOSE to abort and the CPC’s are there for the moms who CHOOSE to give birth. Yet the pro-“choice” crowd gnash their teeth and do everything in their power to take away the choice to give birth from women.
BTW, if you don’t really think abortion kills a baby then you wouldn’t be ashamed of the word. There are some who think Christians are crazy and brain-washed but when someone has snarled “Christian” at me like a slur (and it has happened to me) I was not the least bit offended. You pro-aborts are offended because despite all your earnest protestations you KNOW abortion KILLS A HUMAN BEING.

You’re right, joan. We can’t wrap our heads around it because it’s intellectually dishonest and totally illogical. And what does it say about you that you can?
Let’s break it down. The only conceivable reason for anyone to “dislike” abortion is because it kills an innocent human being. If it didn’t, then I myself would have no problem with it.
If abortion doesn’t kill an innocent human being, then no problem. If it does, because abortions are doing deliberately, it’s murder and everyone should be against it. There’s no such thing as “I’m personally opposed to murder, but I think it should be legal and everyone should commit it if they want to.” Not for any kind of thinking and feeling human being it isn’t.
Once again, what does it say about you that you CAN wrap your head around this concept?

Yet all my friends who’ve aborted do all the above in regards to their abortions.

“Ken, it’s 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.”
==============================================================
Hal,
I could claim that it was a typo that was result of ‘fat fingerering’ the keypad, or that I was referring to that other non-color specific domicile at ‘1500’ Pennsylvannia Ave, but alas it was neither.
I just got the address wrong.
I mean if b o can’t remember at which hospital he was birthed, then surely I can be excused for being off one digit on his mailing address.
That might explain why b o has not answered my request for an notarized copy of his long form certificate of live birth from one of those other seven states he visited during the campaign and the passport he used to travel to Pakistan or which one of the multiple social security numbers associated with his name(s) and known addresses.
“In Obama’s home state, Illinois, [ private investigator Neil] Sankey tracked down 16 different addresses for a Barack Obama or a Barack H. Obama, of which all are addresses he was known to have lived at. Two Social Security numbers appear for these addresses, one beginning with 042 and one starting 364.
In California, where Obama attended Occidental College, there are six addresses listed for him, all within easy driving distance of the college. However, there are three Social Security numbers connected to these addresses, 537 and two others, each beginning with 999.
Or …”the one Social Security number Obama most frequently used, the one beginning with 042, is a number issued in Connecticut sometime during 1976-1977, yet there is no record of Obama ever living or working in Connecticut. Indeed, during this time period Obama would have been 15-16 years old and living in Hawaii at the time.”
The Social Security administration is well aware that there are many people employed in this country using a social security number and a name that is not theirs. They know this because they are receiving contributions from multiple employers in divergent parts of the United States assigned to a specific Social Security number. It improbable, almost impossible, that these multiple contributions from different part of the country represent the person to whom the social security number was originally assigned.
The Social Security administration knows that the vast majority of the contributions are coming from ‘undocumented/illegal aliens who are using someone elses social security number to obtain employment. But the Social Security administration looks the other way because they want the money to keep flowing in, that in all likelihood they will never have to completely pay out in benefits.
But I digress. The point is the connection between fraudulent use of stolen social security numbers and undocumented/illegal aliens.
Obama’s College Trip to Pakistan

…”I [b o] traveled to Pakistan when I was in college — I knew what Sunni and Shia was [sic] before I joined the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.”
This last part — a college trip to Pakistan — was news to many of us who have been following the race closely. And it was odd that we hadn’t hear about it before, given all the talk of Pakistan during this campaign.
So I asked the Obama campaign for more information.
Apparently, according to the Obama campaign, In 1981…Obama traveled to Pakistan with a friend from college whose family was from there. The Obama campaign says Obama was in Pakistan for about three weeks, staying with his friend’s family in Karachi and also visiting Hyderabad in Southern India.
There is nothing particularly sinister about b o’s trip to Pakistan. I just want to see the passport b o used, complete with the visa stamps.
Hal,
If I send my request to 1600 Pennsylvannia Avenue, do you think I will receive a prompt response complying with my request?
Or are all the answers to those questions beyond b o’s paygrade?

Oh so true Heather. I had a liberal friend on facebook bashing Christians for being “intolerant” and I posted a comment “Well, what are we talking about? Being tolerant of blue hair? Being tolerant of weird Chinese food? Being tolerant of rape? Why are you making blanket statements about tolerance when it matters very much what Christians are asked to be tolerant about?” and was promptly deleted from his friends. :-( The most intolerant people are the ones whining for us to be tolerant.

As Christians we must be tolerant and humble to others even in chastising them; this doesn’t mean tolerance of evil actions but our goal should always be to be a light to the world; that those in darkness may see with the grace of God and be brought into repentance and healing and forgiveness. Amen

Good, because I was planning on voting for one of those in 2012 instead.
Obama’s lack of concern for the plight of the unborn became painfully obvious when he referred to babies as “punishment”. All of these attempts to prove that Obama is really pro-life and that pro-life people are not sound like something out of 2084. Oops, I mean 1984.

“You’re right, joan. We can’t wrap our heads around it because it’s intellectually dishonest and totally illogical. And what does it say about you that you can?”
There’s nothing illogical about it, unless you want to make the claim that it is also illogical to morally disapprove of any number of other things (alcohol, pornography, premarital sex, whatever) without wanting those things made illegal. Personally disapproving of something while respecting the rights of those who feel differently to indulge themselves in it is simply part of being a mature, reasonable member of a modern, pluralistic society.
“Let’s break it down. The only conceivable reason for anyone to “dislike” abortion is because it kills an innocent human being.”
This is not true at all. It’s perfectly consistent logically to regard pregnancy as a beautiful thing that would be unfortunate to prematurely end, while at the same time respecting the right to do so. I would be dismayed to see someone plant and nurture a beautiful flower garden and then destroy the entire thing with their lawnmower, but I’d respect their property rights that would justify them doing so.

joan,
Now you’re getting it. A baby is like a beutiful flower and abortion is the lawnmower that violently rips it to shreds. The only problem with your analogy is that the baby has a right to live, which, logically, would mean that nobody has a right to kill that baby.(at least according to those wacky documents called the Declaration of Independance and the Constitution of the United States of America, which is supposed to be the supreme law of the land.)

Leave it to joan to make a moral equivalency between mowing your lawn and murder. . .
I guess I should have said “the only conceivable intellectually honest reason to dislike abortion is that it takes the life of an innocent human being.”
The other things you mentioned, like premarital sex or pornography or alcohol are fundamentally different from abortion because abortion takes an innocent human life. This is a biological and medical fact neither you nor I can do anything about.
We’re just not “morally disaproving” abortion, we are saying that it is a fundamental violation of human rights. This is what makes it different from determining whether marijuana or pornography should be legal or not. On these there can be disagreement. People can dislike these and still agree that they can be legal.
But no one who is honest would make any arguments in favor of fundamental violations of human rights. We don’t dislike slavery or rape and yet vote for them to be legal.
And let me stop you right here before you get to the “a woman’s bodily autonomy as a fundamental right” argument by pointing out that an unborn child also has a right to bodily autonomy, but even before that, he or she has a right to life.
You need to catch up, joan. Even the most hardened pro-aborts like Frances Kissling and many others are now admitting an unborn child is a human being with value. They’re way beyond your lawn-mower analogies. They’re trying to brave it out and say that a woman’s right to bodily autonomy trumps any rights a living baby in the womb might have, but they’re beginning to sound hollow even to their supporters. They are essentially throwing in the towel and its a matter of time now.
They know what they are doing. And whether you like it or not, they are pro-abortion and I will continue to say so.

Yep – Babies are our future. They help us to grow up. They help us not to be selfish. They help us to be generous. They help us with giving. Yes – there are sleepless nights. Yes – worry. and yes – uncertainty.
but there is much joy, wonderment, looking at the little things we pass over if we did not stop to smell the roses. Nothing can replace the words ‘I love you mommy.’ Or ‘I’m glad you brought us up the way you did.’ or a big hug and smooch. In the end – it’s all the little and big things that make up family life and we can either grow from all of that and savor it, or not.
In Joan’s world – everyone can do whatever they want, even abject evil, and look away and do nothing.
We are meant for relationship. We are all part of the human family. And we are meant for better. Much better.

Wanted to play more? Play with the kids. Wanted more art, music, sports, daydreaming? Do it with your children. Be sure to spend time with them and re-do and add to your childhood. It’s never too late. I did it with my kids, and had a blast!
