“Modern Family” star adopts second child
There’s lots of problem solving in any marriage, but when you have this collective goal that is a human being, it’s an inspiring rally point.”
~ ABC’s Modern Family star Ty Burrell, on the adoption of a second daughter with wife, Holly (pictured above left), as quoted by People, March 19
The couple adopted their first daughter, Frances (pictured above right, with her father), two years ago.

But but but…doesn’t Ty Burrell’s show encourage gay marriage and adoption of children by gay men??
Yes it does, Jake and that’s fine by me.
Good for you JDC. Let’s see who else supports this idea. So far it’s you and me.
I’m cool with it. The uproar over gay marriage will eventually die down a good bit, and there are a ton of guy guys who would make great parents.
Jake:
I don’t think there should be such a thing as government-sanctioned/recognized marriage. I think what we think of as “marriage” now should be replaced with civil unions (available to any couple, gay or straight), and then if a couple is religious, they can take their civil unions to be recognized in a church ceremony if they see fit (granted, any religious institution should be able to decline recognizing any couple’s civil union if it conflicts with their tenants). I think gay adoption is GREAT, though!!! ^_^
Also, I think your comments show you to be a bigot. Have a great day! <3
Xalisae. I am completely fine with your vision of marriage/civil unions. I don’t care how u define it, as long as it is equal for everyone, gay, straight or transgendered. Don’t know why that makes me a bigot. Sounds like we agree on this issue. You also have a great day.
I didn’t mean that you were bigoted against those with alternative lifestyles. I’m saying that you’re bigoted against Pro-Lifers. One can be bigoted against more than just minorities. Toodles. ^_^
Oh ok, fair enough. I would counter-argue pro lifers are bigoted against pro choicers….but hey to each his own. I mean the definition of bigot is:
a person who is utterly intolerant of any differing creed, belief, or opinion.
So yes i am bigoted against pro lifers. I would say you are likely to be bigoted against pro-choicers. so what is your point? Is it your point that we disagree about abortion?
Toodles to you.
I would say you are likely to be bigoted against pro-choicers. so what is your point?
My point is that I’m not. I’ve met all kinds of people who support keeping abortion legal. Some I agree with more than disagree, because they consider themselves libertarians. I still think they’re wrong about that issue, but I don’t automatically assume that every abortion-tolerant person I encounter is going to be a gay, bra-burning man-hater, as you’ve clearly tried to paint all Pro-Lifers in this thread with the “anti-gay” brush. THAT is bigoted.
I suggest you study up!

Mods, I have a post chock-full of links for Mr. Jake’s benefit, if one of you would be so kind as to remove it from the “pending moderation” category. Many thanks in advance! <3
ok fair enough…lets see who else responds then. who, amongst the prolife posters who regularly post to this blog, are for gay marriage and gay adoption of children? We have heard from 3 of you, and kudos to you for proving my bigoted assumption wrong. Let us all stand up and prove me wrong. I will happily admit my error. I will be so happy to admit i am a bigot who has no clear understanding what the majority feel on this blog. bring it!!!! I am not infallible. I fully admit that i may be wrong about a lot of things.
All i know though, is that one post about TVU ultrasounds has 300+ responses to it. Hardly anyone has stood up to my bigoted response about gay marriage and parenting.
I support same-sex marriage and adoption, though I don’t automatically denounce anyone who disagrees with me as a homophobic bigot. How many responses do you need? If enough people agree, will you become pro-life? If not, what point are you trying to make?
Jake: “I mean the definition of bigot is: a person who is utterly intolerant of any differing creed, belief, or opinion.”
It’s one of the most useless definitions of “bigoted” there could be, alas. And it’s pretty much the dictionary definition, alas.
I believe 2+3=5. I’m intolerant of any divergent answers. Utterly so, in fact.
And I’m a bigot? No, that’s just stupid. Not you, Jake, the definition.
My preferred definition of bigot isn’t in the dictionary at all, so I can’t exactly expect others to use it that way but I hope they see my point. I see a bigot as someone who generalizes unfairly about a class of people based on prejudices that lack warrant. Key words: generalize, unfairly, lack warrant.
All i know though, is that one post about TVU ultrasounds has 300+ responses to it. Hardly anyone has stood up to my bigoted response about gay marriage and parenting.
Probably because nobody wanted to indulge your non-sequitur craziness, since you went off on a gay marriage tangent in a thread about TVU. My, what terrible people we are. XD
That guy in the pictures somewhat resembles Casey Kasem (about 70 years ago).
