  • Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life (MCCL) calls out the World Health Organization for falsely associating high maternal mortality rates to legal restrictions on abortion:

… WHO states in its report that “treaty monitoring bodies have … linked elevated rates of maternal mortality to … restrictive abortion laws [and] unsafe or illegal abortion.” But WHO cites only old, and flawed, country reviews. The truth is that maternal mortality depends on the quality of maternal health care, not the legal status of abortion. Some countries prohibit abortion and have very low MMRs; others permit abortion and have very high MMRs. Legalizing abortion is demonstrably unnecessary to improve maternal health and save women’s lives.

Jessa Duggar Seewald and husband eager to adopt

by Carder We hope to adopt a lot of kids. If God blesses us with biological kids of our own, it’s not going to quench our desire to adopt. ~ Newlywed Jessa (Duggar) Seewald, opening up about her and husband Ben’s plans to adopt, People, February 18

My big take-away from attending a pro-choice rally

image (7)I was afforded a unique opportunity on January 24 to unobtrusively observe a pro-choice rally.

I had been invited to speak in Austin by Texas Right to Life at a two-day conference for pro-life college students, which intersected on Saturday afternoon with the annual Texas Rally for Life.

Almost bizarrely, the pro-life rally was held on the south lawn of the capitol building at the same time a pro-abortion rally was held on the north lawn.

So, since I’ve attended quite a few pro-life rallies in my time, I thought I’d check out the other side’s.

Former punk artist: Adoption “crueller than death”

by Carder Mum suggests adoption, but I think that’s crueller than death. That’s my opinion. To burden a child with abandonment and rejection right from the start. A living death. All or nothing, that’s me. I choose nothing. Nothingness for baby. I think this is a responsible decision. I will not countenance any other option. […]

“Right to choose” should be who raises baby, not if s/he lives

My wish is that women of any age would understand that it is only 9 months out of their life but it is life to someone else! That the right to choose should be a choice of who raises a baby, not whether it lives or dies. ~ Anonymous birth mother, proliferesponse.org, August 15, prefacing […]

  • At National Review, Michael J. New addresses Politico’s recent poll, the results of which were used to try and make Democrats’ views on abortion appear mainstream, when they aren’t. The Democratic Party supports abortion on demand, not abortion with restrictions.
  • At Priests for Life, Fr. Frank Pavone also responds to the results of both the Politico and Gallup polls:

“When 80 percent of voters in highly contested states and Congressional districts say they want babies protected from late-term abortions, if not most or all abortions, it’s pretty clear who the extremists are – those who support abortion on demand.”…

Mother and daughter reunited after 77 years apart

Waiting365.jpgby Kelli

Walking in the woods with her best friend one warm afternoon, the real world barreled into her idyllic life. Three men approached the 16-year-old girls; they were separated. [Minka] Disbrow, who still believed storks delivered babies, was raped by a man in a cowboy hat who called himself “Mack.”

Bloody and sore, Disbrow and her friend returned home.

  • Live Action documents another first person story of how Planned Parenthood was complicit in covering up the sexual abuse of a minor. Their callous disregard for abused children is appalling:

Over the years, I have found out that my story is very common in two aspects, neither of which will be good news for either side in the abortion debate. The first is the fact that my experience with Planned Parenthood was not an aberration. The sexual attitude often championed by Planned Parenthood is a serious factor in preventing the discovery of sexual abuse of young people. Had anyone shown even the least bit of disapproval or concern, I would have divulged the truth and begged for help.
