American Horror Story TV series criticized for demonizing abortion
The most terrifying aspect of American Horror Story isn’t the shocking gore or gasping plot twists.
When our reproductive rights face a daily barrage of attacks, it’s frightening that the series so blatantly perpetuates myths surrounding the fear, stigma and shame of abortion and pregnancy.

Anyone who has ever seen a photo of an aborted baby has to know abortion can’t possibly be “demonIZED”. It’s already there.
Oh, boy. Here we go again.
Would those myths regarding pregnancy include the myth that it is a sexually transmitted disease? That being conceived is a crime that should be capitally punished?
Would the “myths” about abortion include the lies that it is safe, that destroying one’s own flesh and blood is a good thing under certain circumstances; and by extension, that the destruction of the vulnerable among us is a plus for anyone involved; the destroyer, the destroyed, or the witnesses who do nothing to intervene and prevent it? Then there’s the myth that an intrinsically dangerous act that deliberately takes an innocent human life and endangers at least one other one, that cures, prevents, or treats no actual disease, but rather has been proven to increase the risks of a number of them, many of which are life threatening, is Health care?
Lies, lies, damned lies and more lies; and the truth is called falsehood, and light put for darkness by those who profit from the darkness.
It is what it is: own it, and repent.
I think it’s healthy for there to be stigma around murder.
jtm,
Yeah, those myths. And many others. :)
So its ok to be controversial in a show when someone is pro-abortion but not when someone is pro- life? In this day in time when so many are demonized for being pro-life I think its refreshing to watch a show who leans pro-life. It’s part of the plot. GET OVER YOURSELF!!
