Georgetown U invites Kathleen Sebelius to speak at commencement
In what can only be interpreted as a direct challenge to America’s Catholic bishops, Georgetown University has announced that “pro-choice” Catholic Kathleen Sebelius, Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services and lead architect of the Obama administration’s assault on religious freedom through the HHS contraception mandate, has been invited to speak at one of Georgetown’s several commencement ceremonies.
The Cardinal Newman Society has posted a petition to protest this outrage here: GeorgetownScandal.com. It has also alerted Washington Cardinal Donald Wuerl and sent a letter to Georgetown President John DeGioia urging him to immediately withdraw the invitation….
The nation’s oldest Catholic and Jesuit university has chosen to honor Sebelius by granting her a prestigious platform at its Public Policy Institute commencement ceremony, despite her role as the lead architect of a healthcare mandate that will force Catholic institutions to pay for contraception, abortifacients and sterilization against their religious beliefs. The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops has termed the mandate “an unwarranted government definition of religion” that is “alien both to our Catholic tradition and to federal law,” “a violation of personal civil rights” and “a mandate to act against our teachings.”
But Secretary Sebelius’ record on abortion is at least as troubling as the mandate. When Governor of Kansas, Sebelius supported abortion rights and vetoed pro-life legislation. In 2008, Archbishop Joseph Naumann of Kansas City reportedly told Sebelius, a Roman Catholic, to stop receiving the Eucharist until she publicly recants her position on abortion and makes a “worthy sacramental confession.”

Frankly, the Cardinal Newman Society should know better than to call Georgetown “Catholic”. It hasn’t been Catholic for several decades. And, the Jesuits will continue their assault on all things Catholic until the Pope strips them of their credentials as a Catholic Order…then they can continue under whatever auspices they choose. St. Ignatius is rolling around in his grave for all one has to do is read the Jesuits’ Formula of the Institute to see how far they have come from their founding principals: “Whoever desires to serve as a soldier of God beneath the banner of the Cross in our Society, which we desire to be designated by the Name of Jesus, and to serve the Lord alone and the Church, his spouse, under the Roman Pontiff, the Vicar of Christ on earth, should, after a solemn vow of perpetual chastity, poverty and obedience, keep what follows in mind. The true church, blood-bought sons and daughters of the Most High God, from every denomination and non-denominational stream, needs to cry out to God for mercy and repent for our silence and passivity. We must declare war on satan’s child killing machine, politicians and judges that support child killing in the womb, and the abortion industry.
The wicked need to be warned that if they die with the blood of innocent children on their hands, either by being directly involved in killing children in the womb, or indirectly, by supporting or voting for those who do, they will suffer eternal torment.
Their pain and suffering will be much much greater than they can possibly imagine.

We need some ”John the Baptist” type reformers to rise up and boldly speak against the wickedness in our land.

For the church to sit idly by is unconscionable.

While the wicked have good cause to ‘fear’ the judgement of GOD, it is not ‘fear’ which draws us to HIM.

GOD’s most effective weapon is not ‘fear’, but HIS love.
1 John 4:18-19 18 There is no fear in love [dread does not exist], but full-grown (complete, perfect) love turns fear out of doors and expels every trace of terror! For fear brings with it the thought of punishment, and [so] he who is afraid has not reached the full maturity of love [is not yet grown into love’s complete perfection].

Georgetown is more vicious than ND in this matter. They’ve seen what transpired when BO was invited to speak at ND. They’ve heard the bishops speak out on HHS. YET, they invite KS to speak, honoring her by giving her a forum on their Catholic campus. This is a deliberate and direct slap in the face to the Church.
These folks don’t even bother themselves with giving the appearance of Godliness.

When I was growing up, my very devout mother would say often, “Those d@#ned Jesuits!” I never really understood what she meant by that, but now I think I do.
I obviously agree with the scriptures you quoted KTB, but disagree with your conclusion.
Look at the pic of BO and KS laughing and smiling. I don’t care how many times you tell them God is kind or that He luuuuuuuvz them, they are not going to repent.
They already believe in the love of God. They both believe God loves them. And He does. But unless they repent they’re going to split Hell wide open. Without the Fear of God, which is the beginning of wisdom, they won’t have the grid to properly understand the kindness and the mercy of God.
People think God’s love is always syrupy and lovey dovey but whom He loves, He chastens, and He whips every son whom He receives.
BO and KS need to fear God.
I will never, ever grow broke betting on Catholics supporting Democrats. If pro-life Catholics do not like what liberals are doing to your church, they have 2 options. Leave the Church or stop giving money to it-give to specific pro-life Catholic charities instead. The only thing the priests will understand is no cold, hard, cash.
I thank God for good prolife priests, and I pray for the ones who are weak in this area.
What is the name of the person who invited Sebelius?
The fact is someone or group of someones invited her, not the faceless institution.
Who are they? What are their names and their positions? Who hired them? Why aren’t people who are faithful sitting in those positions?
I would like to know who invited them too. Is the speaking fee coming out of the general fund, or has someone (or some entity) donated to hire the speaker?? please find out.
This is a real slap in the face for all believers, no matter the religion, but especially Catholics. While when I went to college at a Jesuit institution, it was fine. But now I can see that higher education needs more authentic Catholic teaching and leadership.
An utter tragedy – and another opportunity for those who do support the Teachings to step up and demand better. Another teachable moment. It’s time to make more lemonade out of lemons….

You Catholics are all crazy witch hunters. Imagine if you stopped focusing on abortion and started caring about all the other life we (humans) are killing. Abortions are good. They keep the population of unwanted people in check. Stop being so crazy and get a life (pun intended… ha).
