Limbaugh: Congress, staff, families can get “any abortions they want, paid for by you”
Members of Congress and their staffs are going to have any abortions they want — and any abortions on members of their family or friends who are covered by their policy — paid for by you…
You know, I got a question. If the Democrats can just exempt themselves from having to pay for Obamacare, why didn’t they just exempt themselves from paying taxes? What’s to stop them? If the law of the land says that taxpayer money cannot be used to fund abortions and they have a plan that does that, why not just exempt themselves from paying taxes? Why not just bonus themselves any amount of money they want to pay their taxes.
What’s to stop them?
~ Talk radio host Rush Limbaugh criticizing the inequities of Obamacare, October 1

Nothing. We are no longer a nation of laws, but of men. The civil law itself only rests on the willingness of people to follow it, but when that crucial commitment no longer exists, civil society breaks down. Society will lurch violently from one thing to the next, the only sure bet that people will be most motivated by their own self-interest. This was the democracy our founding fathers tried to avoid and the kind of cult of personality they sacrificed to break away from.
de Tocqueville said it long ago: Democracy will last until the American populace realizes that we can vote to give ourselves an income from the public coffers. We passed that line long ago.
A great majority of Democratic voters already pay no taxes due to their low earned income and welfare status. The elitist class of Democrats cannot afford to alienate this voting block.
The rest of America pays some taxes, but we borrow a trillion dollars each year to pay for current consumption. These are taxes that we are avoiding, heaping a burden on our children.
And we are refusing to have enough children to carry that burden. So America is setting ourselves up for a major collapse. Our nation may not survive, just another great empire on the trash heap of history.
And to prepare for this easily foreseeable and avoidable catastrophe, the elite Democrats have voted that taxpayers should pay for the abortions that will kill their own grandchildren.
What Rush doesn’t get is that we’re actually treating staffers differently than most Americans by forcing them into exchanges. It’s like congress going to your work and saying “you guys can’t have an employee policy, your folks have to go to the open market”.
The GOP created that rule – it was odd, and it has allowed for the abortion coverage.
Why this is news to you people is odd – I posted it about a month ago – AP had it as a scenario the GOP had created.
Nice work folks.
Ex-GOP: The deal is simple: ObamaCare is a massive cluster knot. It doesn’t matter who instituted a particular line item that resulted in something adverse. It doesn’t matter, because no one thought this through or evaluated the consequences. It is a major case of garbage-in, garbage-out.
The simple case is that the “open market” insurance ought not to be covering abortions at all, PERIOD. Because purchasing such insurance is now a government-mandated tax. And taxpayer money is properly prohibited from funding abortions.
If folks want to have abortion insurance, they ought to be allowed to buy the extra, non-mandated coverage with their own money, out-of-pocket. Because abortion is not healthcare.

Health insurance premiums for years have received favorable tax status, thus meaning the government is kicking in money, and for years, has had abortion as a possible coverage. This isn’t new.
Regardless, reform isn’t a cluster simply because you declare it as such – and just because something is complicated doesn’t mean it’s bad, or that if something isn’t complicated, it is good. The much, much easier bill would have been to expand medicare to all Americans (universal coverage) – it could be written pretty quickly – nice and simple – so is that what you’d support? Of course not. So don’t play this game of “I can’t understand it, therefore it’s a terrible thing”.
Is his name Rush because he speaks so much faster than he can think?
