Really tough, but I went with #5. Sorry, but Hillary Clinton driving a car is not realistic enough, which diminishes the funny factor for me.

The Jeb Bush one is a best in a weak field.
Somebody forgot all the Cliven Bundy ones floating around.

Is it accidental or willful ignorance that makes people not understand that the warming of the world causes more extreme weather, included worse winters because of the extra precipitation? It’s been explained a million times, to not understand it by now just means you have some issues. Pick a different pseudoscientific, pandering to the uninformed masses argument against strong evidence.

If the same threshold was set for global warming as there is for drugs causing abortion, you could be sure our fine friends would be living in solar panel houses and riding bikes everywhere.
I think it is just the human tendency for folks to pick and choose things that support them, and ignore the evidence to the contrary.

Rest easy my friends,
Our fearless leader in Washington will protect us. Though personally I think the climate would be better served if Washington D.C. was shut down. Flossie and Buttercup could never compete with all that methane expulsion.

Honestly, I’ve tried to determine if this is a joke but I can’t find anything that says it is. Someone please correct me if I’m wrong.
I just can’t imagine how the planet survived the dinosaurs. I bet they could really let them rip.

You should try harder to find information – after roughly 7 seconds, I came across the origins for this.

EGV,
Apparently there is some dispute between the ranchers and the EPA. The EPA says there is no tax. The farms groups say a fee would apply to farms with livestock operations emitting more than 100 tons of carbon a year and falling under Clean Air Act provisions.
According to your article, PETA is thrilled with this. The livestock industry is very concerned. That in itself speaks volumes.
Actually your source only shows there is a definite disagreement between the farmers, ranchers, and EPA as to what is in store. It doesn’t show this to be a hoax.

Not a hoax, but not some direct tax that has been proposed. It appears that an interpretation of a proposal within a document could subject farmers to a tax – but there seems to be no evidence that somebody is about to pass a tax on farmers on this.

EGV,
I must admit EGV, your source did a more thorough job than mine in explaining the farmers’ and ranchers’ fears and concerns, as well as the EPA and its “fee” proposals, and what serious consequences this can have for our country. Thank you.
Geez, maybe if we got our farmers and ranchers to give their animals Bean-o?
I won’t use various quotes from the article that support my argument as people on this blog are very capable of reading it themselves.
Besides this, the other big difference is that most of the people commenting below your article are cheering on the EPA.
No surprise there.

All over the world ranchers are getting the short end of the stick. Not enough what it takes to raise livestock so that Americans can eat, now we have the EPA raising a stink over nothing.
Do you pay attention to the European Union? They have levied so many fees and enacted so many restrictions on the ranchers that it is impossible for them to make a living and at the same time raise quality livestock. The US has been running ranchers out of business for the past two decades but is the country now going the way of the ridiculous EU protocols?
Say hello to beef imported from Thailand in the grocery store near you soon…..

I have to say that this week’s cartoons were all a disappointment for me. So no vote….

How much beef does Thailand export?

Did you miss the gist of that last sentence. Read again….

You said that beef imported from Thailand would be replacing locally grown beef. I asked how much beef Thailand exports. How did you miss that gist???

Thomas R.: Please don’t respond to Reality’s posts. He’ll get the impression that somebody reads them.

I kind of do feel sorry for Hillary’s daughter though… :( I mean didn’t she get married a little recently? Isn’t it normal for people to, y’know, have families?

She got married in 2010 and is best known for her
“interfaith” work.

How did you miss that gist???
You are obviously a very concrete person “reality” and incapable of drawing any inferences implied.
How did you miss what was being said in that statement about Thailand as it applies to EPA chasing ranchers out of business with idiocy?

Hey Catholics, I’ve got a question for you: what are we supposed to call Pope John Paul II now that he’s a saint? Like, do we just keep using the papal name or is it Saint [something]?
(sorry to derail, but these Sunday funnies threads always go totally off-topic anyway)

“How did you miss what was being said in that statement about Thailand” – you said “Say hello to beef imported from Thailand in the grocery store near you soon…..” when from what I’ve read, Thailand imports a little bit of beef. I don’t know if they have the capacity to export enough beef to have any notable impact in the US market. Same goes for many nations in that region. I can’t see that changing a whole lot any time soon. In fact the US is a large exporter of beef to parts of Asia.
“as it applies to EPA chasing ranchers out of business with idiocy?” – that’s not happening.

I can’t wait until more people realize we don’t need to raise a gazillion animals just to kill to eat, when we can live just fine and happily on a vegetarian diet.
People are extremely shortsighted when they worry about big business concerns versus environmental concerns.

Hi Jack,
All in the POV. I love my eggs, bacon, raw milk, a steak that melts, kosher hot dogs, and big juicy burgers.

That’s disgusting and unethical.

Lol sorry Mary that sounded much more rude than intended. But yeah I do think eating meat is unethical and it totally gags me when people describe their gross food made from poor dead animals.

Hi Jack,
No offense taken. I find tofu no less repugnant.
Oh,I forgot to mention gobs of butter as well!

I’m fine with butter, there are ethical ways to get eggs and dairy.
I don’t like tofu at all. I get protein elsewhere. Tofu just has a texture I don’t like, like most meat and all seafood, and stuff like egg plant. And some other ones.

My son has to avoid dairy so he uses coconut and almond milk, which is delicious.
Also, goat cheese is surprising good.
Eggs are an excellent food source. Would eating them be OK if they’re unfertilized?

I eat eggs here and there (of course not fertilized!). If I try to cut out dairy and eggs entirely I end up losing way too much weight and I look like a famine victim. For some reason legumes as protein doesn’t help you keep weight on lol.

Do you know that technically fish is not considered meat Jack, right?

It is still really gross.
