Author: Tell your abortion story like moms tell birth stories

abortionposterby Kelli

Abortion is a normal thing that women do, and we should stop asking women to sit in silence when the topic comes up….

I don’t feel very brave when I talk about my abortion. I feel small and scared.

But I don’t like staying silent out of fear. I don’t think that’s how anyone has ever gone about winning civil rights. And we have a lot of work to do.

Pro-life vid of day: Toddler amputee’s determination inspires

kayden2by Hans Johnson

A video showing a two-year-old boy learning to use his prosthetic legs for the first time was uploaded on YouTube on the Fourth of July. His heartwarming declaration of “I got it!” made the video immediately go viral. But Kayden’s inspiration might not have been here at all, had his parents succumbed to doctors’ pressure to abort him. His mother, Nikki, writes:

Kayden Elijah Kinckle was born on June 3, 2012, with an Omphalocele (where some organs remain outside the body) and Amniotic Band Syndrome (where string-like bands are wrapped around the legs and feet while in the womb). These complications led to some deformity with his legs and feet. As a result, Kayden had two abdominal surgeries immediately after birth, and most recently he underwent a double-amputation of his right foot and left leg.

A book suggestion for the family, interviewed here on Fox & Friends, would be The Little Engine That Could:

Planned Parenthood captures abortion monopoly in Texas

Planned Parenthood abortion monopoly in TexasUPDATE 7/24, 5:20a: We got great news yesterday, that the abortion rate in Texas has dropped by 13% since November, when the new pro-life law began taking effect. This represents 9,200 babies saved from abortion!

7/23, 7:32a: On September 1 a new pro-life law will take effect in Texas that requires abortion clinics to meet the same standards as ambulatory surgical centers, abortionists to have admitting privileges at hospitals within 30 miles of the clinic, and the abortion pill RU-486 to be dispensed per FDA protocol.

And on that day Planned Parenthood will seize control of the Texas abortion market, since it will at that point own six* of the eight remaining abortion clinics.

TV series features late-term abortion episode

by Carder Terminating a pregnancy is not inherently tragic - women have a variety of abortion experiences - but for Lena (and Stef), this was devastating. She really wanted this baby; she’d dreamed about this baby and already fought with the baby’s sperm donor over parental rights. A lot of stories on The Fosters are about making […]

Pro-life blog buzz 7-22-14

pro-lifeby Kelli

  • American Life League’s Judie Brown discusses the latest idea in birth conrol technology – remote control contraception:

Technology Review says the wireless implant, if approved for safety and efficacy, could make it possible for a woman to turn her birth control on and off at will by using a remote-control device. The implanted chip contains the chemical levonorgestrel—the same ingredient in Plan B One-Step (emergency contraception)….

CBS News states, “The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has committed funding to a preclinical trial on a user-controlled microchip that can effectively prevent unwanted pregnancies for up to 16 years. The futuristic birth control method could make it to the general market as early as 2018.”

But even some on the Left are concerned that such technology could be used on women against their wills, aiding both eugenicists and sex traffickers.

Pro-life daily vid: 40 Days for Life offers hope in the darkness

by Hans Johnson There is the famous quote from the Talmud that “whoever saves one life saves the world entire.” (See this clip from Schindler’s List.)  At the forefront of the Pro-Life Movement is 40 Days For Life.  Here is an overview of their ministry, which has saved more than 7500 lives so far. Be […]

Sexual revolution replaced guillotines with Planned Parenthood

by Kelli It’s especially bizarre, I think, when those on the Left turn out to enthusiastically celebrate any new revelation of a cultural figure having an abortion. The more they admire the person, it seems the happier they are at the “courage” of said person having had an abortion. A bit unintentionally insulting, don’t you […]

Pro-life vid of day: Pregnant mom has eye removed to save baby

by Kelli From Breitbart comes the story of pregnant mother Chantal Gauthier-Vaillancourt from Canada, a midwife with malignant melanoma of the eye, who opted to have her eye surgically removed rather than expose her preborn child to radiation treatment: [HT: Susie Allen]
