Stanek wkend Q: Will the House pass the 20-wk abortion ban this year?
By now everyone knows what went down Thursday: GOP House leadership panicked and pulled the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, after promising the pro-life world they would pass it on the 42nd anniversary of the Roe v Wade decision, the same day hundreds of thousands of pro-lifers were descending on Washington for the March for Life.
I’m told these same spineless, convictionless wimps are promising to introduce a retooled ban, but our people are now demanding a timeline, and they want the clock to start ticking SOON.

Jill Stanek is a nurse turned speaker, columnist and blogger, a national figure in the effort to protect both preborn and postborn innocent human life.
My guess is that they will pass one sometime this year, but it will be a version that is so weakened that it as good as no law at all. Not that it really matters as Obama will veto any version that reaches his desk anyways.
We will not find our salvation from Washington. We must not put our hope in Congress, and we must not lose hope when our legislators let us down.
The important thing that this legislation does is that it keeps the conversation alive in the public. We keep talking when the bills pass, and when they fail to pass. We keep talking when Obama vetoes the bill. Our goal is to build a culture of life… pro-life laws will probably be the last achievement that our culture sees, after the war for life is won.
Failing to pass the promised bill during the March For Life even has Democrats talking for us!
We only lose when we stop talking to the world.
Amen Del ….you and I have spoken about the Cleveland kidnapping victims. Michelle Knight is pro life! That demolished house of horrors is 15 minutes away from my house. Castro damaged Michelle Knight’s internal organs so badly she was told by doctors she can never get pregnant. Nevertheless although she was impregnated by rape…she wanted the babies that were beaten out of her womb. Amanda Berry’s daughter plays with my son sometimes. Her name is Jocelyn Jade. Amanda loves her daughter. I have seen Jocelyn in a Christmas picture with her mom.
My late husband’s daughter will take her baby brother to Amanda’s house. I guess these girls make our rape argument for us. As you’ve said Del…. you did see Tasheena M. in People magazine. She and Amanda are the same age.
Every child deserves to be protected from death by torture and dismemberment — overruling any concern about how the child was conceived.
This should be all the more obvious after the child is fully formed, weighs 16 oz or so, and has reached 5 months old. Preemies of this size and age routinely survive…. We can see them and care for them and know how they suffer pain.
If our legislators cannot pass this obvious legislation, then we need to start thinking about creative ways to replace them quickly. How about a few recall elections?
