Pro-life blog buzz 5-26-15
by Susie Allen, host of the blog, Pro-Life in TN, and Kelli
- Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life says the MN Senate has rejected a proposed law to require abortion facilities to be licensed and inspected. The safety of women clearly isn’t as important as that of dogs and cats:
“Abortion centers perform invasive, outpatient surgery,” said MCCL Legislative Director Andrea Rau. “It makes no sense that these surgical centers should be excluded from the health and safety standards that apply to other outpatient surgical centers. This bill is necessary for us to ensure that the very unsafe conditions uncovered in other states never happen in Minnesota….The state licenses tattoo parlors, cosmetology salons and even dog and cat breeders — but not abortion facilities,” Rau added. “It is time for this special exemption for abortion to end so that the state can ensure a degree of basic safety for women.”
- Fletcher Armstrong sings the praises of Ratio Christi, a Christian campus organization at the University of North Carolina – Wilmington. The group recently hosted a Genocide Awareness Project:
It was by far the best campus Christian organization we have ever encountered. They… don’t have time for the “pizza for Jesus” tomfoolery that wastes so much time in youth ministry today. Young Christians are very weak because nobody is preparing them to take a stand. But Ratio Christi is different; their unofficial motto seems to be, “We’re trying to pick a fight!” And they are good at it!”
- Big Blue Wave lauds the courage of pro-lifers demonstrating in China:
For about 10 minutes on Saturday, young men and women stood in front of major hospitals in Chengdu, China, holding up red pro-life banners and graphic photos of abortion. After snapping a few photos and capturing the attention of a few passersby, the groups quickly left to keep ahead of local police officers who likely would have arrested them.Their goal wasn’t to hold the protest but to start a conversation on social media with photos of their activism. The signs read “Unborn children are children too,” “Men don’t take responsibility, so women abort,” “If unborn children aren’t human, then what is a human?” Other signs depicted the abortion process and images of aborted babies next to the words, “Is this your ‘pain-free’ abortion?” referring to a commonly advertised promise from Chinese hospitals and abortion centers.
- Clinic Quotes features a statement from Dr. Patti Giebink, a board-certified OB/GYN and former abortionist, reinforcing the humanity of the preborn child:
And so you see the necessity of actually lining up the body parts, and making sure that there’s two hands, two feet, the head, the torso, because if I’m missing body parts, then I have to go back and repeat the procedure. And that didn’t happen very often; it was a very rare instance when I had to go back to retrieve more body parts. - Culture Campaign posts about the growing sentiment that animals deserve the same protection as humans – when not even all humans are given equal protection. Why is it that so many animal rights activists tend to be pro-abortion?
A new public opinion poll shows that 94% of Americans believe that humans have a responsibility to consider animals worthy of protection from harm, while one-third of respondents said that “animals deserve the exact same right as people” — an increase over seven years ago.
- Kansans for Life says George Tiller’s former rubber-stamper abortionist Kris Neuhaus is looking for both pity and money, as she is finding it difficult to secure employment, despite her Master’s in Public Health from the University of Kansas:
In a radio interview Thursday, she elaborated that she has lost her research job “without explanation” and has initiated a second online “fund-me” campaign to raise $100,000….Neuhaus touts herself as a martyr who lost her medical license unjustly in the pro-life administration of Gov. Sam Brownback due to her “affiliation with Dr. Tiller.”
In actuality, Neuhaus was charged in 2009 — during the administration of pro-abortion Gov. Kathleen Sebelius – with violating record-keeping regulations and violating the standard of care for 11 teens obtaining late-term abortions in 2003 at Tiller’s Wichita clinic….
In yesterday’s radio interview she said she is seeking public funding to help her afford the filing fees required to apply for medical licenses in other states. (Watchout, America!)
Eighteen months ago, her online campaign raised $63,000 – ostensibly to be used to save her home and pay her legal fees to the Board, at that time billed as $93,000. She has paid nothing to the Board and is protesting the reassessed costs of $31,000 she now owes.
Her husband is running another donation site to repay attorneys for their pro bono work on her behalf.

I don’t know what’s up with that poll, but 1/of people certainly do not believe that animals deserve the same rights as humans. Less than 5% of the population is vegetarian, much less vegan. You can’t claim to believe that humans and animals have the same rights if you eat some of them. I mean I’m pretty vociferous about animal rights and even I can admit that we can’t get rid of meat eating, we can just make it more humane.
I think when people say things like that they just mean puppies and kittens.
Wait, where is Jill supporting Josh Duggar? Did I miss something?
Jim Bob is a hypocrite and a terrible father imo. What does any of that have to do with whether or not abortion is okay?
Check out her Facebook page. I didn’t say she supported his actions, but supported him vis a vis Huckabee. And, her agreeing with Huckabee is tantamount to minimizing the Jim Bob quasi-coverup. Jim Bob knew about the molestations at the time he ran for office and had that position concerning incest perps.
Yes, Jim Bob is bad news, we’ve established that.
I don’t agree with Jill supporting Huckabee’s gross minimization of the abuse, if indeed she did. I don’t have Facebook to check.
Billie, if you want to converse here then no swearing. Absolutely none.
Oh moderators…
Neither Huckabee or Jill supported the actions. Josh was a minor who committed acts that he acknowledges were inexcusable. As I understand it, the victims were given support and counseling and so was Joshua. What would you do if your minor child did this? I would get counseling for him and go with him to report it to the proper authorities as required by law. I would not throw my minor child under the bus and neither would you.
The victims and Josh were not given proper counseling. Josh was sent to a place where he did some physical labor for a few months. The “treatment center” was founded by Gothard I believe, who was accused of multiple sex crimes.
They didn’t report it to the proper authorities. They talked to a cop in their church (he was later arrested for child porn). Jom Bob waited a year to tell anyone.
They allowed Josh to live in the home with his victims while they were still vulnerable and underage. Oh, but that was okay because he “apologized” to the girls.
The Duggars are massively hypocritical as well, with their views on “purity” and how they handled this situation.
I wouldn’t throw my kid under the bus, he/she would always be my child and I would love him/her all the same. My priority would be protecting the victim (especially if the victim(s) were my other child(ren).
The Duggars dropped the ball, hardcore, on that one.
Ha, this is a review of some of the literature that Gothard’s institute had on sexual abuse.
http://www.recoveringgrace.org/2014/04/there-is-no-victim-a-survey-of-iblp-literature-on-sexual-assault-and-abuse/
I’m sorry, that sickens me as a sexual abuse survivor and a Christian. Blaming “immodesty” for sexual abuse. Blaming the victim over and over in that crap. The literature is pretty old, but it shows where those people’s heads were and probably are at. That’s the type of “counseling” Josh Duggar, and maybe the girls too, got?
A new public opinion poll shows that 94% of Americans believe that humans have a responsibility to consider animals worthy of protection from harm,
I would say this has to do with people realizing that animals can suffer.
…while one-third of respondents said that “animals deserve the exact same right as people” — an increase over seven years ago.
Now wait a minute – if a chupacabra crosses into the U.S. from Mexico, illegally, does that mean we give it a driver’s license?
My apology for the redacted strong language. I find Huckabee to be a hypocrite, too. Here’s what he wrote about Roman Polanski and the liberals back in 2009:
http://www.foxnews.com/story/2009/10/05/can-have-different-points-view-but-shouldnt-have-different-standards.html
Huckabee has different standards with Polanski and Duggar.

“I am your Jesus, born Incarnate.”
“Spiritual leaders must lead souls to their salvation. This is their responsibility in My Eyes. To remain silent on the matters of sin is to become a tool in Satan’s hands. Sodomy – same-sex marriage – is a sin! Do not tell Me you cannot speak out against this sin because it is political. Sin should not be a political issue. It is the government who is mixing sin and politics. You, as spiritual leaders, must identify sin as sin! Silence is Satan’s masquerade – the mask he wears to cover the Truth.”
“If you do not lead your flock in the Truth, you lead them in untruth. You do not hold your office to be popular, to be important or wealthy. Your office has been given to you to help souls choose right from wrong. There must not be any compromise.”
“My Father destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah for the very reasons some celebrate legal approval of same-sex marriage. There was no celebration after God’s Wrath visited those cities.”
Read Hebrews 5:1-4+
Synopsis: Every priest is taken from among men as called by God and appointed to offer themselves as gift and sacrifice for sins. Every priest is able to have compassion on the ignorant and erring in sin because he himself is also beset with such weaknesses of sin; and for that reason is obliged to offer sacrifice of himself for the sins of the people he leads, as well as, for himself.
For every high priest chosen from among men is appointed to act on behalf of men in relation to God, to offer gifts and sacrifices for sins. He can deal gently with the ignorant and wayward, since he himself is beset with weakness. Because of this he is bound to offer sacrifice for his own sins as well as for those of the people. And one does not take the honor upon himself, but he is called by God, just as Aaron was.

Billie,
If you don’t like something in reference to Jill Stanek’s Facebook page, just comment on Facebook. The only reason I see you getting on this blog is to bait pro-lifers and Christians into reacting to your verbal abuse, bullying, and sweeping generalizations. Your post reveals more about your character than ours.
Well, MoJoanne, since her Facebook page is not open to me or others, then what? And, yes, I got a little emotional on my first post. However, I do that when I see hypocrisy.
And, my character? I have more character in my little finger than the Duggars have in all of their bodies.
Billie, you say you saw something on Jill’s Facebook page but the page is “not open” to you or to others?
I’m confused.
Billie,
You could comment on your own Facebook page. You could send Ms. Stanek an email. (There is a contact tab at the top of this page.) Instead of civilly venting to her directly, you raged against millions of people. A little emotional? I saw goading and name calling in attempt to start a fight.
MoJoanne, your perception is different than mine. It may explain why some prolifers don’t face reality many times.
And, “millions of people”? I am sure the few thousand that frequent this site saw my posts.
Billie,
Nothing in your first post (which has now been taken down) referenced just the pro-lifers and Christians who read this blog. I took it to mean every pro-life person and Christian out there, which numbers in the millions. Frankly, I have no idea how many people frequent this site. It could number more than a few thousand since excerpts get circulated on LifeSite news or passed around, which would bolster readership.
How do you feel about hypocrisy and molestation when committed by liberals? Do you get just as emotional over it? Is Lena Dunham getting the same treatment as Josh Duggar? Only one of them seems repentant. I’ll remind you that Lena Dunham wrote about her own allegedly predatory sexual behavior toward her younger sister and now hopes to release a children’s movie which contains “incest and beatings.” Posted here 11/4/14
About Dunham’s movie… I don’t believe sexual predators should be making movies directed at kids. Though I read a synopsis about the movie and it doesn’t sound much worse than other movies that touch on abuse (the incest isn’t consensual). I think it’s pretty heavy of a subject for kids though, I’m not sure what age group but unless it’s teens that it’s directed at i think its inappropriate subject matter.
I still don’t understand why everyone excuses Dunham for abusing her sister though.
MoJoanne, you are not worth a long reply. Basically, “prolifers” try to justify Joshua Duggar by bringing up Lena Dunham. The two are unrelated.
All I know is Joshua Duggar and his father Jim Bob aren’t telling the truth. They deserve all the adverse reaction that they are getting. If people want to defend this den of hypocrisy, then so be it. The fact, however, is that “prolifers” want Planned Parenthood to report sex offenders but if an anti-gay, prolife hypocrite like Joshua Duggar and his father conceal sexual offenses, that’s OK because “God forgave them.” After seeing the support they are getting while innocent girls were the ones who were harmed, it’s obvious evil is rampant in the prolife and Christian community.
Further, on another note, I can’t wait until the Supreme Court basically OKs gay marriage. Another nail in the Christofascist mentality of this country is a victory worthy of celebration. Anyway, now you all can have my posts deleted; I really don’t care. However, I will remind all of you of your hypocrisy every chance I get. It may not be here, but it will be somewhere.
Ciao.
Billie: All I know is Joshua Duggar and his father Jim Bob aren’t telling the truth.
There is no question about this. The Duggar parents knew what was going on, and they also knew what the Arkansas statute of limitations was – and they made sure that time had passed before any notice of the truth was let out.
Billie,
I hope you get therapy for your anger issues. You are obviously hurting inside.
By the way, I’m not defending the Duggars. Never was interested in their show. Nor, do I care for hypocrisy or victimizing people no matter who does it, which is why I am pro-life. The slaughter of an innocent human life is the ultimate victimization.
Let’s be honest sexual scandals happen on both sides of the social – political aisle. So if you are going to call out the Duggars, call out the rest of them too.
Seems to me we were missing some cartoons around here in the past week.
