All the dots remind me of playing ‘pig in the pen’ as a child.
It occupied us for hours while we were traveling on long trips or sitting in a boring sunday morning church service. It actually engaged our developing minds to discover the always different strategy for each game. It is poor mans checkers game.
I still like to introduce young children to the game and watch as they begin to understand it’s complexities.

The cartoonists are so focused on the ‘intelligence community’ that they lose sight of the fact that the B.O.’s administration did little to change the system [except for the worse] that he inherited from the Bush administration.
Remember B.O. attempted to remove certain discriptive phrases and words from the political lexicon.
B.O. caused or/allowed the justice department to go after employees or contractors of our intelligence services because of the way they conducted their interogations or, even if at the Bush administration’s request, they discovered ‘legal justification’ for the harsh interorgation methods.
They observed and learned as B.O. dithered and dallied for months before responding to Petreaus’ original request for more than 200,000 additional troops in Afghanistan by finally authorizing 30,000 and announcing similtaneoulsy that we would begin withdrawing our soldiers from the country in 18 months.
They were well aware how B.O.’s rules of engagement made it virtually impossible for the U. S. Navy to rescue an american citizen kidnapped by Somali pirates.
Finally, the Naval commander on the scene discovered a way through ‘creative reading’ of B.O.’s rules of engagement to authorize the Navy Seals to neutralize the pirates and rescue our fellow citizen.
The members of the U.S. inteligence service cannot have missed the fact that some other Navy Seals are now being court martialed for alegedly punching a known mass murdering Jew hating muslim terrorist in the stomach.
The inteligence community cannot have missed the fact that B.O. has yet to identify the recent mass murders at Ft. Hood as act of terrorism.
The inteligence community cannot have overlooked B.O. making the decision to treat ‘terrorism’ as random acts of violence, equivalent to a drive by shooting in an inner city, and affording the mass murdering Jew hating terrorists all benefits of our civilian justice system.
The inteligence community could not be unaware that 7 of it’s members were recently assasinated by a mass murdering Jew hating muslim terrorist in Afghanistan.
The members of the inteligene are at least smarter than Charley Brown in that they have learned from repeated experience that, like Lucy, B.O. cannot be trusted to NOT move the football.
The bottom line is B.O. won the election and he has been the president for almost a year and only an obsequious servile psycophant would allow him to shift the blame Bush or to B.O.’s ownn subordingates for these most recent failures in leadership.
The only dot on which to be focusing is the one on B.O.’ s nose.

Can someone explain what the “connecting the dots” reference is? I’m really out of the loop right now.
I think the only one who got it right was the first cartoonist. There were only 2 dots…1. the father told our people that his son, the underwear bomber, was a terrorist and 2. He had a son, the underwear bomber, that isa terrorist.
What I didn’t understand througout all of this, was that it wasn’t difficult to understand what his father had to say, but it was difficult to act on it? Seriously?
So, in lieu of this, my favorite is the one with two dots again, but this time across Napolitano’s neck. It’s what should be done (her getting fired) but won’t happen over this. It’s a shame.

‘Connecting the dots’ is a reference to a childs coloring book exercise where the dots on a pager are numbered and you ‘connect the dots’ by drawing a line with a crayon or pencil in numerical order and then identify the resulting image. It is ‘childs play’.
The ‘fruit of the boom’ underwear bomber did everthing but wear a tear shirt emblazoned in both Arabic and English: Danger High Explosives.

Nigerian newspapers reported that Abdulmutallab’s father, former Nigerian Economics Minister, who lives in Katsina, Nigeria, had informed the US embassy of his son’s activities because he had become so concerned about his religious views.
A source said Dr Mutallab was “devastated” at the news but also “surprised” his son had been allowed to travel after he had reported him to the authorities.
Dr Mutallab said he was planning to meet with police in Nigeria last night after realising his son had joined the notorious roster of al-Qa’ida terrorists, and is said to have warned the US authorities about his son’s extreme views six months ago.
“I believe he might have been to Yemen, but we are investigating to determine that,” his father said.
Reports from Nigeria suggested that Abdulmutallab’s family had seen a very different person to the one studying at UCL. He apparently cut all contact with his family after university, but is thought to have visited Egypt and then Dubai.
Abdulmutallab had allegedly become noted for his extreme religious views when he was at the British International School in Togo, where he is said to have preached Islam to his friends.
An official briefing on the attack said the US had known for at least two years that the suspect could have terrorist ties. Abdulmutallab has been on a list that included people with known or suspected contacts or ties to a terrorist or terrorist organisation. The list is maintained by the US National Counterterrorism Center and includes about 550,000 names.
The revelation of Abdulmutallab’s background has confounded terror experts. Dr Magnus Ranstorp of the Center for Asymmetric Threat Studies at the Swedish National Defence College said that the attempted bombing “didn’t square”.
“On the one hand, it seems he’s been on the terror watch list but not on the no-fly list,” he said. “That doesn’t square because the American Department for Homeland Security has pretty stringent data-mining capability. I don’t understand how he had a valid visa [issued by the United States Government] if he was known on the terror watch list.”

One other factoid that has come to light:
United States Officials knew who Abdulmutallab was and that he was on the plane on the ten hour trans atlantic flight to Detroit but failed/chose NOT to notify the flight crew or the sky marshalls on the plane.
Abdulmutallab’s known behavior prior to boarding the plane was eerily similar to Malik Nadal Hassan, the Jew hating mass murderer who shot and killed 14 people at Fort Hood recently.
This is not rocket science.
Exercising just a little common sense and rudimentary skills with a computer and the internet would have prevented either of these guys from being in the position to do what they did.
B.O. has to be held accountable for NOT ensuring the established system was NOT being implemented effectively.
Hell B.O. has to be held accountable for preventing the system from being effectively implemented.
While B.O. appointee Janet Napolitano, Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security was sending out alerts to domestic law enforcement agencies to be on the look out for homophobes, discharged service men, Boy Scouts, pro-lifers and conservative christians as potential domestic terrorists, an officer in the United States Army was communicating with known Islamo extremists and making public anti-American, pro-Jihadist pronouncements.
The most plausible reason for government officials failure to act before Hassan, jumped up on a desk shouted ‘Allah akbar!’ and starting shooting his fellow soldiers and citizens is ‘political correctness’ implemented as B.O. established administration policy.

Connecting the dots = The American people finding out what we Arizonans already knew about the incompetent one, Janet Napolitano.
We also know that she ran from the state in which she single handedley put into financial turmoil as a result of her liberal policies repackaged as conservativism. She is a true wolf in sheep’s clothing.
We also know that she was a perfect fit for the Obamantion Administration.
And you would turn over the entire healthcare system, 1/6th of the U.S economy, the power of life and death over U.S. citizens, unlimited control with rationing of your healthcare and unlimited abortion-on-demand over to these radical, socialist, leftist imbeciles who cannot even connect the dots to keep the nation safe? Don’t believe everything Hannity says. During his January 20, 2009, inaugural address, Obama stated that “[o]ur nation is at war against a far-reaching network of violence and hatred.” He later added: “We will not apologize for our way of life, nor will we waver in its defense. And for those who seek to advance their aims by inducing terror and slaughtering innocents, we say to you now that our spirit is stronger and cannot be broken — you cannot outlast us, and we will defeat you.”

And this Detroit incident is nothing. Obama has emboldened the terrorists by showing extreme weakness and the attacks we are about to witness this year will make 9/11 look like a picnic.

I wake up everyday thankful President Obama is in the White House. What a refreshing improvement over the Bush years. I hope we don’t have to endure another terrorist attack, but it’s possible. Just as it’s been possible every day since 9/11.

He urged restraint, cautioned us not to jump to conclusions, dispataced Janet Napolitano to the United Arab Emirates to reassure them his administration was doing everything it could to prevent an anti-Arab/muslim backlash. [This was same Napolitano who warned american law enforcement agencies to watch out for conservative christians, pro-lifers, second ammmendment advocates, people opposed to changing the definition of marriage to include (fill in the blank) and Boy Scouts.]
B.O. never has gotten around to correctly identifying the 14 murders at Fort Hood as an act of terrorism by a Jew hating muslim extremist.
Other than those few examples, why would thinking person have any reason to question the sincerity, the veracity, the accuracy of anything that comes out the four sides of both of B.O.’s faces.
But when the incompetence of B.O.’s administration allowed the fruit of the boom underwear bomber to board an aircraft bound for the USA without a passport and an expired visa,
a good number of American said WTF?!?!?
Most americans do not yet know that while that plane was making the ten hour flight to Detroit, no one from the U.S. government bothered to pass onto to the flight crew that there was a known muslim extemist on the plane with them.
But most americans knew enough to know that B.O.’s administations incompetence, which was only exceeded by the underwear bombers incompetence, had nearly resulted in the murder of almost 300 people.
Then out of the blue B.O.’s teleprompter got an infusion of totusterone and provided B.O. with some words that almost sounded ‘manly’.
B.O. used the veroboten words terror, terrorism.
If B.O. was not such a gifted liar, I would have been tempted to give him credit for at least saying the right things the right way.
But once again B.O. arrived at the scene of the crime late and in an attempt at damage control mouthed words that might soothe his deluded devotees, but not sober people of at least average intelligence.

My own view is that 2009 has been an extraordinarily successful year for Obama. Since this is currently a minority view and will prompt a chorus of “In The Tank!”, allow me to explain.
The substantive record is clear enough. Torture is ended, if Gitmo remains enormously difficult to close and rendition extremely hard to police. The unitary executive, claiming vast, dictatorial powers over American citizens, has been unwound. The legal inquiries that may well convict former Bush officials for war crimes are underway, and the trial of KSM will reveal the lawless sadism of the Cheney regime that did so much to sabotage our war on Jihadism. Military force against al Qaeda in Pakistan has been ratcheted up considerably, even at a civilian cost that remains morally troubling. The US has given notice that it intends to leave Afghanistan with a bang – a big surge, a shift in tactics, and a heavy batch of new troops. Iraq remains dodgy in the extreme, but at least March elections have been finally nailed down.
Domestically, the new president has rescued the banks in a bail-out that has come in at $200 billion under budget; the economy has shifted from a tailspin to stablilization and some prospect of job growth next year; the Dow is at 10,500 a level no one would have predicted this time last year. A stimulus package has helped undergird infrastructure and probably did more to advance non-carbon energy than anything that might have emerged from Copenhagen. Universal health insurance (with promised deficit reduction!) is imminent – a goal sought by Democrats (and Nixon) for decades, impossible under the centrist Clinton, but won finally by a black liberal president. More progress has been made in unraveling the war on drugs this past year than in living memory. The transformation of California into a state where pot is now more available than in Amsterdam is as remarkable as the fact that such new sanity has spread across the country and is at historic highs, so to speak, in the opinion polls. On civil rights, civil marriage came to the nation’s capital city, which has a 60 percent black population. If that doesn’t help reverse some of the gloom from Prop 8 and Maine, what would? And, yes, the unspeakable ban on HIV-positive foreigners was finally lifted, bringing the US back to the center of the global effort to fight AIDS as it should be.
Relations with Russia have improved immensely and may yield real gains in non-proliferation; Netanyahu has moved, however insincerely, toward a two-state solution; Iran’s coup regime remains far more vulnerable than a year ago, paralyzed in its diplomacy, terrified of its own people and constantly shaken by the ongoing revolution; Pakistan launched a major offensive against al Qaeda and the Taliban in its border area; global opinion of the US has been transformed; the Cairo speech and the Nobel acceptance speech helped explain exactly what Obama’s blend of ruthless realism for conflict-management truly means.

he Beltway cannot handle all this. And that’s why they continue to jump on every micro-talking-point and forget vast forests for a few failing saplings.
But when you consider the magnitude of shifting from one conservative era to one in which government simply has to be deployed to tackle deep structural problems, the achievement is as significant as his election year.
I remain, in other words, extremely bullish on the guy. There is a huge amount to come – finding a way to bring down long-term debt, ensuring health insurance reform stays on track and reformed constantly to control costs, turning the corner on non-carbon energy, reforming entitlements, finding a new revenue stream like a VAT, preventing Israel from attacking Iran, preventing Iran’s coup regime from going even roguer, withdrawing from an Iraq still teetering on new sectarian conflict, avoiding a second downturn, closing Gitmo for good, ending the gay ban in the military … well, you get the picture.
Change of this magnitude is extremely hard. That it is also frustrating, inadequate, compromised, flawed, and beset with bribes and trade-offs does not, in my mind, undermine it. Obama told us it would be like this – and it is. And those who backed him last year would do better, to my mind, if they appreciated the difficulty of this task and the diligence and civility that Obama has displayed in executing it.
Yes, we have. And yes, we still are the ones we’ve been waiting for – if we still care enough to swallow purism and pride and show up for the less emotionally satisfying grind of real, practical, incremental reform.
The end of his FOUR years. That is all he is “entitled” to (and there are doubts about even that).
With as much as the independent voters are running en masse away from him, it is highly doubtful he will get that second four year time period you seem to be counting on.
