Sunday Word: “Had you listened to my commands, your children’s names would not be cut off”

art12-f1

If only you had listened to my commands! Your peace would be like a river that never runs dry. Your righteousness would be like waves on the sea.

Your descendants would be like sand. Your children would be like its grains. Their names would not be cut off or wiped out in my presence.

~ Isaiah 48:18-19, God’s Word translation

Pro-life photos of the week: Pro-choice expressions at a pro-life rally

This week Lila Rose and Live Action sponsored a rally in front of the Planned Parenthood located two blocks from the White House.

At one point an unidentified pro-abortion man heckled Rose by standing at the podium alongside her yelling, “Stop interfering with women’s healthcare decisions!” Click all photos to enlarge…

Stanek weekend Q: Thoughts on love letter aborting mother wrote to her “Little Thing”?

5b31735c5928d58177df3883e4df1a01Cosmopolitan published a love letter an aborting mother wrote to the baby she was planning to abort October 17, who she called “Little Thing.” So this baby has likely now been suctioned and chopped to little pieces.

The mother made her ghastly intent sound poetic, which Cosmo said proved aborting mothers aren’t “emotionless robots who have not given any thought to the decision they are making.”

Rather, I wanted to vomit. Aside from melodic rubbish, the mother wrote a lot that didn’t make sense, such as “I promise I will see you again, and next time, you can call me Mom.”

Where, in heaven? She thinks God will reward her for killing her baby by letting them cosmically float together again in the afterlife, where the Mom can live in blissful eternity with the child she murdered?

Or perhaps she believes in reincarnation, imagining her aborted baby would want to return to her savage uterus for a do-over. Does she think she deserves this reward?

I don’t know. In my mind this letter was a psychotic, dissociated, very disturbing mess wrapped in a pretty bow. What do you see?

Little Thing:

I can feel you in there. I’ve got twice the appetite and half the energy. It breaks my heart that I don’t feel the enchantment that I’m supposed to feel. I am both sorry and not sorry.

I am sorry that this is goodbye. I’m sad that I’ll never get to meet you. You could have your father’s eyes and my nose and we could make our own traditions, be a family. But, Little Thing, we will meet again. I promise that the next time I see that little blue plus, the next time you are in the same reality as me, I will be ready for you.

Little Thing, I want you to be happy. More than I want good things for myself, I want the best things for the future. That’s why I can’t be your mother right now. I am still growing myself. It wouldn’t be fair to bring a new life into a world where I am still haunted by ghosts of the life I’ve lived. I want you to have all the things I didn’t have when I was a child. I want you to be better than I ever was and more magnificent than I ever could be. I can’t do to you what was done to me: Plant a seed made of love and spontaneity into a garden, and hope that it will grow on only dreams. Love and spontaneity are beautiful, but they have little merit. And while I have plenty of dreams to go around, dreams are not an effective enough tool for you to build a better tomorrow. I can’t bring you here. Not like this.

I love you, Little Thing, and I wish the circumstances were different. I promise I will see you again, and next time, you can call me Mom.

Planned Parenthood CEO: My abortion wasn’t a “difficult decision”

Planned Parenthood CEO Cecile Richards had an abortion

I had an abortion. It was the right decision for me and my husband, and it wasn’t a difficult decision.

Pro-life blog buzz 10-17-14

  • Pro-Life Action League says now, more than ever, we need to use the images of abortion victims in pro-life outreach:

Our opponents want the average person to think of abortion not just as something to be tolerated, but as something good. Needless to say, they definitely don’t want people to think about the unborn babies who are victimized by abortion. Indeed, they don’t want people to think abortion has any victims in the first place.Which is precisely why we must continue to show the pictures of abortion victims in the public square, for nothing elicits sympathy like pictures of the victims of injustice.

  • New Wave Feminists shares several tips on sidewalk counseling from Sidewalk Advocates for Life. Among them are, “Be a person, not a protestor,” and “project your voice; don’t yell.”

  • Real Choice has a list of Texas abortion “clinics” with their health violations in light of the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to allow certain facilities to remain open:

On two occasions, the owner of a car dealership next door to [Douglas] Karpen’s clinic had to call authorities to report that the clinic sewer had backed up, spilling recognizable fetal parts onto his lot.The mainstream media, who evidently consider “journalism” to consist of getting a talking points sheet from abortion-rights groups, have failed to report on the conditions at any of the closed clinics, but have instead just uncritically and unquestioningly parrot[ed] the words of those organizations.

Who would benefit if abortion-rights advocates successfully block state crackdowns on abortion clinics? Who would benefit if abortion clinics aren’t held to the same standards as other outpatient surgical facilities? Who would benefit if Wendy Davis had her way?

It wouldn’t be the women walking into those abortion clinics.

  • At Priests for Life, Janet Morana gives her take on gay marriage advocate David Fleischer’s latest scheme to try and change minds on abortion.
  • Saynsumthn’s Blog says the mainstream media is either missing or ignoring the real Texas abortion story while they focus on what the courts will or will not do with Texas abortion clinics:

While the appeal process continues the media is in an all-out frenzy to interview abortion clinic workers for a response. What the news media is intentionally censoring however is that a dark and unreported underbelly of the abortion industry is emerging after a Texas pro-life organization released a report which documents how the abortion industry is used to cover child rape. The news media is so consumed with an abortion agenda that they have put on blinders and refuse to report the abuses that abortion clinics and specifically clinics in Texas are involved in.

  • Survivors has a heartwarming story of Brandi Swindell (pictured right), a young woman on who founded Stanton Healthcare on a mission to replace Planned Parenthood:

Today, Stanton Healthcare owns a state-of-the-art clinic located next door to a Planned Parenthood in Boise, Idaho, and sees as many as 19 clients a day. They have a 38 foot mobile clinic that reaches out with compassion and love to under-served women in Idaho and refugee communities. Stanton has $1,000,000 in assets with no debt and of course all their services are free. They just bought a piece of property next to a Planned Parenthood mega abortion clinic in Meridian, Idaho, and plan to build a women’s clinic that will serve as a national model for the pro-life community. This amazing facility will have computer labs for the girls, classrooms, a baby boutique and wellness center. Brandi has also launched an affiliate program which is opening Stanton clinics all across America and around the world.

  • Protect Women and Children NM reveals where late-term abortionist Curtis Boyd’s money is going this election:

Seven New Mexico [Democrat] politicians have taken significant campaign contributions from Dallas late-term abortionist Curtis Boyd. Boyd, a Dallas resident, operates the nation’s largest late-term abortion facility located in downtown Albuquerque, Southwestern Women’s Options.

  • Pro-Life in TN is cross-posted at Live Action News regarding the battle over Amendment 1 in Tennessee, which seeks to return the Legislature’s ability to pass common sense abortion laws. TN is a red state with a pro-life majority in the General Assembly, but sadly, years ago, one ruling by the state Supreme Court struck down the Legislature’s ability to pass even informed consent laws. A great deal of false and misleading information about the proposed amendment is being disseminated by Planned Parenthood and other members of the abortion industry. Watch this video to see what Amendment 1 is all about:

Pro-life vid: Media complains pro-life sign at abortion clinic “near a school”

by Kelli

Another display featuring abortion victims is drawing fire, this time in Albuquerque, New Mexico, home of the infamous Southwestern Womens Options late-term abortion clinic.

While this local news report from KRQE.com seems to vilify pro-lifers for placing a graphic display near an elementary school, if you closely watch the video, you’ll see that the sign is directly in front of the abortion clinic.

Pro-lifer Tara Shaver of Protest ABQ responds to parents’ concerns in the video by saying, “[School children are] not our targeted audience. I would think that a more valid concern would be what’s actually happening so near to a school.”

[youtube]http://youtu.be/8WNfEwu5AjA[/youtube]

What do you think? Is this a valid concern about school children’s vulnerable eyes, or is the media trying to trash pro-lifers by telling half-truths about a sign that’s been in this location for two years?

Bishop: Write in “Mother Teresa” to protest pro-choice candidates

Mother Teresaby Carder

The leader of Rhode Island’s Catholics is suggesting that voters could write in Mother Teresa’s name or sit out the Nov. 4 election because the candidates aren’t “terribly promising” on the abortion issue.

In a piece posted online Wednesday in The Rhode Island Catholic diocesan newspaper, Bishop Thomas Tobin said that writing in Mother Teresa or Pope Francis in protest would send a signal that voters want anti-abortion candidates.

~ The Associated Press via the Huffington Post, October 15

Clarification: Rhode Island Right to Life has weighed in on this subject, stating that the AP mischaracterized Bishop Tobin’s actual letter. They assert that he instead “recommended three morally acceptable possibilities, the first of which was to vote for the candidate who will do less harm, which is indeed what the statewide pro-life organization in Rhode Island is urging.” RI RTL shares their voting endorsements here.
