New Stanek poll: Do you know someone who has had an abortion?

Poll 2.pngI saw a poll question at Abortioneers I thought was a good one:

Do you know someone who has had an abortion?

Vote on the lower right side of the home page.

Sadly, the response there was 100% for “Yes,” albeit only 16 votes. I still thought this was telling. How many people support abortion simply because they know someone – or have been someone- who got one?

So we know now Mitt Romney chose Paul Ryan as his running mate. But only 11.4% of you got the right answer! And somehow I think Kelly Ayotte fans skewed the poll a tad…

Pro-choicer recommends abortion clinic “rate your experience” online

Can someone please come up with a “Tripadvisor” for abortion clinics? Who wouldn’t want to rate their clinic experience? It would be cool, in an ideal world, if women felt safe enough to “rate” their experience… Women don’t share their abortion experiences, but it would make a difference, I think, for women to weigh-in […]

How about a pro-choice dating service?

There had been some talk among Abortioneers in the past about dating and relationships, and how an anti-choice position would be a dealbreaker among potential mates. This then led to the imagining of a pro-choice dating service, where pro-choice folks can meet each other and fall hopelessly in love (or just hook up, whatever), without […]

Artist celebrates “4,000 years for choice”

You know how everyone is like “Jesus hates reproductive freedom?” Well, you know what predates Jesus by a couple thousand years? You guessed it! • Bookmark this from RH Reality Check to respond to claims that “no one likes abortion”:

I love abortion. I don’t accept it. I don’t view it as a necessary evil. I embrace it.

I donate to abortion funds. I write about how important it is to make sure that every woman has access to safe, legal abortion services. I have bumper stickers and buttons and t-shirts proclaiming my support for reproductive freedom. I love abortion.

by JivinJ, host of the blog, JivinJehoshaphat UK abortion clinics aren’t used to large protests: The spokeswoman, who requested anonymity because she said she had received hate mail, said the protests were bigger than many other anti-abortion protests. “We’ve always had sporadic outbursts down the years, but I think we are seeing something, seeing protest […]

by JivinJ, host of the blog, JivinJehoshaphat Wesley Smith notes a recent Journal of Medical Ethics article in which the authors argue that infanticide should be legal and label killing newborns “after-birth abortion.” Overheard: An Abortioneer describes her own clinic – and it doesn’t sound that nice: I think some clinics have entire abortion appointments […]

Throw a keg party to raise money for abortion

I think having a keg party to raise money for an abortion is one of the most brilliant ideas Iíve ever heard and Iím so going to tell all my patients who need money for their procedure about it! ~ About a Girl, Abortioneers, February 16 [Photo via Beer Tees]
