Pro-choicer recommends abortion clinic “rate your experience” online
Can someone please come up with a “Tripadvisor” for abortion clinics? Who wouldn’t want to rate their clinic experience? It would be cool, in an ideal world, if women felt safe enough to “rate” their experience…
Women don’t share their abortion experiences, but it would make a difference, I think, for women to weigh-in and provide online referrals.
I use all sorts of websites like Yelp! that help me determine whether I want to go to a certain restaurant or not. Do I want someone’s opinion on the abortion clinic they went to?
Yes, please.

sorta like Angie’s List. The abortion mills in FL advertise no waiting, get abortion on your lunch hour…how about a massage with that abortion….green tea and lovely rooms with pictures of Hillary Clinton.

We’ll call it Carhart’s List. Or Gosnell’s List. Better yet, TILLER’S List!
Only problem I see with Abortioneer’s wishful thinking is that once pro-lifers get a hold of it, there’s no turning back.

Yeah, I’m looking at this thinking, if they honestly published all the reviews they got from all the women who have had abortions and were coerced or had abortions and were injured or had abortions and were treated like crap after (and on and on and on), every clinic’s rating would be in the dumps. (Admittedly, a large part of me is pointing out that this would be more accurate.) I can’t see a way for this to happen so that it would be useful to anyone but pro-life folks, or only available to the really hardcore abortion apologists and a tightly kept secret.

Good idea – let’s start with what Live Action has exposed and go from there…
1) Does your clinic hide statutory rapes? 10 pts
2) Does your clinic pander to sex-slave trafficking pimps? 10 pts
3) Does your clinic protect and shield abortionists who routinely perforate uterine walls? 10 pts
4) Does your clinic fail to inform parents of underage minors? 10 pts
5) Does your clinic harass pro-lifers 10 pts (bonus pts if any assault charges…)
…
Carder – Tiller’s list – perfect!

Doesn’t the lack of feedback make the point: Women Regret Their Abortions! So they’re not going to go online and gush about the great service they got at the clinic, assuming they got great service, which is unlikely! It’s got to be a shameful degrading experience and one that a woman would just as soon forget. How Bizarre Are These People!!!!

They only want to hear from women who had the “My abortion was the best thing I have ever done!” experience. Had a latte, the nurses and doctors were all NICE and the chairs comfy and cozy and the flowers smelled lovely!! Hurry get there!! Hurry!!
If you regret it? No comments please.

And, what would they consider REALLY cool?
Two-for- one “specials”?
Yea….that’d be really cool. (SARCASM)

I wonder if About a Girl is aware of AbortionSafety.com.

I wonder if the results wouldn’t be weighed heavily in favor positive ratings by the women who had a positive, supported experience (those who’d be more likely to share and want to disclose their abortion) versus a poor response by the women who were coerced into their abortion/didn’t want the abortion/had a negative experience/had the abortion secretly, who’d be hesitant to disclose or discuss their abortion experience, those who “just want to forget about it and move on”.

*versus a low amount of feedback by the women who were coerced into their abortion/didn’t want the abortion/had a negative experience/had the abortion secretly, those who “just want to forget about it and move on,” who’d be more hesitant to disclose or discuss their abortion experience. So I wonder how accurately the reviews would really reflect the women’s experiences and services received.

How is it that their attempts at normalizing abortion just make it seem less and less normal?

A while back, Brokelyn offered a kind of review/guide to several local abortion clinics. http://brokelyn.com/brooklyn-abortion-provider-list/ They didn’t really sugarcoat the less great-sounding clinics. There are a few comments at the bottom from people who had experiences at the clinics mentioned.
It was a big deal when Brokelyn published even just this meager guide to a tiny handful of countless clinics in Brooklyn alone. Interesting that even here in NYC, customers still find abortion clinics (with the exception of Planned Parenthood) by mostly “word of mouth” and some furtive Googling. The standard explanation is that clinics have to protect themselves from protesters by staying hidden. Just has the added side benefit of isolating each client in her experience and leaving her no voice with which to tell anyone if she was treated well or poorly. It’s the same “privacy” as your archetypal back alley.

My private doctor, whose lovely office was tastefully decorated, who had polished wooden shelves for patient files, sent me to an abbatoir that was a disgusting, horrible, cattle-chute to which I wouldn’t send my very worst enemy ever, and it was staffed by one of the most reprehensible, client-mocking ghouls ever to murder pre-born children. I give it a Minus 200. Roe v Wade left the back alley exactly where it was, only now with a euphemistic sign over the front door and a yellow pages ad. (In today’s case, an internet ad.)
Abolish abortion.

It seems to me that this service already exists: http://www.angieslist.com
“More than a million members use Angie’s List to find high quality service companies and health care professionals in over 500 categories.”
I don’t have access to Angie’s List…but I don’t see why any post-abortive person could not use this online service to review abortion facilities. Their web site does say, “service companies and health care professionals.”

Rating abortion clinics isn’t a bad idea. Opinions from other people may influence the decision making of a woman. Women will be warned about how awful a certain abortion clinic is. And maybe if a woman hears negative feedback she may be deciding not to have abortion at all.
