Planned Parenthood praises deceased actress Polly Bergen

Stanek one of “7 women working tirelessly to attack equal rights for women”

Affirmation comes from the strangest places.

787971840mActually, the sort of affirmation I might strangely prefer is acknowledgement from the other side, backhanded as it may be, that I’m being heard. The hope is the messaging is getting through to someone over there, somewhere, and that I’m not just preaching to the choir.

Most here know of Amanda Marcotte, a militant pro-abortion feminist who writes some of the most acerbic, jaw-dropping stuff out there. Amanda may be exasperating and even infuriating, but she is refreshing in that she takes her movement’s beliefs to their fanatical conclusions, which they more often than not try to hide.

That’s the set-up for a piece Marcotte just had posted on Salon entitled, “7 women working tirelessly to attack equal rights for other women” (same piece at AlterNet“7 women working tirelessly to screw over other women,”) with the subtitle, “Sadly, these women find it personally advantageous to reject feminism and continue perpetuating sexist social norms.”

MSNBC host shares her Beyoncé abortion fantasy

So I have been having these imaginings where instead of behind her are these enormous letters that say “FEMINIST,” that she’d come out and it had said, “Hands up, don’t shoot,” or it’d said “birth control” … I mean, yes, “abortion” behind Beyoncé. I mean, then she would never sell any more records, but I […]

Feminist thinks “The Giver” is a slam to pro-lifers

The-Giver-Movieby Kelli

On one hand, the depiction of “release to elsewhere” – especially of one of the unqualified babies, who is given a lethal injection and then dropped down a chute — could surely be used as grist for organizations who are deemed pro-life. (Especially given that in real life, abortion foes often use jarring images of fetuses to further their claim that abortion is murder, despite the fact that such images misrepresent the reality of abortion.)

On the other hand, the suggestion that birth control and family planning are necessary in a world of limited resources are in keeping with pro-choice sentiments. Further, the focus on “unqualified” babies who are at least several months old – not on embryos, fetuses, or zygotes (what those on the “pro-life” side often call “life”) – indicates that this “release” is NOT the same thing as abortion. (Thus, the story is much different from the one told by the likes of Rand Paul — the horror at ending a life is not focused on the contents of a pregnant woman’s uterus, but on a functioning, breathing, fully formed human baby.)

Pro-life news brief 8-20-14

  • “Intellectual” Richard Dawkins told someone on Twitter that bringing a child with Down Syndrome to birth is “immoral.”
  • An Alabama abortion clinic (which couldn’t meet safety standards at its current location) has been given permission to relocate.
  • Martin Haskell’s abortion clinic in Sharonville, Ohio, is dropping its appeal. They’ll stop performing surgical abortions on Friday. The clinic apparently plans on trying to stay in business by offering RU-486 chemical abortions.

Pro-life blog buzz 8-8-14

  • Wesley J. Smith says the bioethics community is finally beginning to criticize artificial reproduction techniques like IVF – but not for the reasons you might think:

But now, in the ever more radical Journal of Medical Ethics, Cristina Richie, of Boston College’s Department of Theology, argues that these technologies should be regulated to limit the number of children – called “carbon legacies,” as a means of fighting climate change.

    Smith opines:

I don’t know if Richie coined the term, but it is ridiculous. Children are children, not bundles of carbon producers…. No, grim is the exploitation of surrogates in biological colonialism and the eugenic impetus that has sunk its fangs deep into the heart of the industry. In the face of such human objectification, sorry, I can’t get upset about global warming.

15 reasons why pro-choicers think pro-lifers are crushing them

abortion laws pro-life winning

On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of Roe v Wade in January 2013, Time magazine published a surprising and iconic cover story about how the pro-choice side has been losing ever since it thought it won in 1973. The reasons Time listed were spot on:

  1. Pro-life laws
  2. Public sentiment
  3. Pro-abortion generational in-fighting
  4. Playing defense (defending the status quo)
  5. Science
  6. Stigma
  7. Aging abortionists

Indeed, abortion advocates have been in an admitted state of panic for quite some time over building pro-life momentum.

But within the past several days two abortion advocates have separately admitted their side is losing…

BREAKING Live Action Planned Parenthood Exposed Part 2: whips, asphyxiation

Planned Parenthood Rocky Mountains BDSM sex

Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains has been much in the news of late.

A couple weeks ago it was revealed that its Aurora abortion clinic has abortion quotas and gives awards for “exceeding abortion visits.”

Last week we learned of a lawsuit filed against Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains’ Denver abortion clinic for not following legal protocol when aborting a 13-year-old in 2012, who it turns out was being sexually abused by her stepfather. Not only did Planned Parenthood commit the abortion and not report the incident to authorities, it gave her a birth control injection against her will, and sent her back to her abuser.

Today, Live Action released the second in its “SEXED: Planned Parenthood’s Dangerous Sex Advice for Kids” series, which exposes “counselors” at two Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains clinics – Littleton and Lakewood –  advising an investigator they thought was a 15-year-old how to engage in dangerous BDSM (Bondage/Discipline, Dominance/Submission, Sadism/Masochism) sexual behavior.
