Obama uses the “Chicago Way” to illegally force taxpayers to fund abortion

chicago wayFour of Illinois’ last seven governors ended up in prison for corruption convictions ranging from bribery to racketeering.

And that’s just the tip of the iceberg in the state ironically known as the Land of Lincoln.

I doubt people truly grasped the meaning of the Chicago Way when they joked back in 2008 that Chicago politician Barack Obama took it with him to the White House.

But there are now plenty of examples of a lawless president who lets nothing stand between him and his agenda, which includes destroying political opponents and foes alike.

Pro-lifers hopeful Supreme Court will now revisit “undue burden” test

judge-myron-thompson who ruled against Alabama's admitting privileges law, stating it created an "undue burden" to abortionTo no one’s surprise, U.S. District Court Judge Myron Thompson, pictured right, ruled on August 4 that Alabama’s law forcing abortionists to have admitting privileges at local hospitals was unconstitutional.

This is the same judge, after all, who forced the removal of the Ten Commandments monument from the Alabama capitol building. He’s a devout liberal, handpicked by the abortion industry to rule on this case. Noted Dr. Michael New at First Things:

Democrat senator vows to force contraception coverage

by Carder Since the Supreme Court decided it will not protect women’s health, I will. ~ Senator Patty Murray (D-Washington) announcing her intention to push for a bill that would require for-profit corporations to subsidize contraception for their employees, New York Times, July 8 [HT: Hot Air]

Planned Parenthood CEO’s husband also had a very bad day in court yesterday

Hobby Lobby Planned Parenthood SEIU abortion Most everyone knows by now the Supreme Court ruled in favor of religious freedom and against the Obama administration yesterday in its Hobby Lobby and Conestoga Wood decisions.

This was a stunning rebuke against not only President Obama but also pro-abortion HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, whose office wrote the rules attempting to force employers with religious convictions to pay for abortion-inducing drugs. The contraception mandate was never passed by Congress.

Hobby Lobby decision: Victory for religious freedom!

Hobby Lobby pro-life SCOTUS decision and against abortion

UDPATE 6:20p: Americans United for Life notes:

The Court acknowledged the dangerous and radical view advanced by the Obama Administration: “Under HHS’s view, RFRA would permit the Government to require all employers to provide coverage for any medical procedure allowed by law in the jurisdiction in question—for instance, third-trimester abortions or assisted suicide.  The owners of many closely held corporations could not in good conscience provide such coverage, and thus HHS would effectively exclude these people form full participation in the economic life of the Nation.” (45-46)

UPDATE 5:10p: Ha…

Obamacare mandate “the beginning” of conscience problems

by Kelli All told, 300 plaintiffs are involved in 100 challenges to the anti-conscience mandate. But it is important to remember that all this commotion is the result of one small aspect of one set of regulations concerning preventive care under Obamacare. And that means we’ve only just begun to see the potential conscience problems […]

Stanek weekend question: With which leg of pro-life’s “3-legged stool” do you identify?

3 legged stool abortion pro-life(Be sure to take the poll at the bottom of this post!)

Abortion proponent Steph Herold has identified the “3-legged stool” of abortion:

But my investigation also solidified my belief that culture change efforts are imperative to the policy and health-care access work that our movement is doing.

Ignoring culture change to focus on policy and health care may garner some short-term wins, but leaves you without a long-term aspirational vision for change.

May 28: Pro-lifers to hijack pro-choice Twitter event promoting abortion as healthcare

UPDATE 5/28 3:28p: Ha! Aljazeera is reporting the story, “Anti-abortion activists ‘hijack’ #WomensHealth.” Great job, pro-lifers! Still plenty of time to join in! 5/27 9:15p: Pro-life alert: Tomorrow, May 28, is the International Day of Action for Women’s Health, established in 1987 “as a means to speak out on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights.” To […]
