Stanek weekend Q: Is feminism losing to multiculturalism?

article-1319804-0B952A16000005DC-450_306x423The hypocrisy of feminists when it comes to the true war on women in Muslim cultures is on flagrant display.

On a daily basis we hear of atrocities committed against women, or shocking prejudices displayed against women, to utter silence on the Left.

Meanwhile, feminists find ghost sexism in every nook and cranny of the West.

I had chalked their hypocrisy up to abhorrence of Judeo-Christian values to the point of absurdly supporting Islamic values.

But an April 30 article by M. G. Oprea at The Federalist entitled, “Feminism is losing its cage fight with multiculturalism,” points to something much more obvious:

Sunday Word: “The real battle is Christ vs Mohammad”

ISLAM_-_CRISTIANESIMO

A great deal of blather has been expended on “the defense of our values.” This plays right into the fanatics’ hands, for they know we don’t have any….

Perhaps the most discouraging thing, in our inaptly captioned “war on terror,” is the response that can be elicited from the West’s real fools: those who say “this is not about Islam,” when even they know perfectly well it is about Islam and nothing else.

  • ProLife NZ laments the story of a woman choosing abortion at 28 weeks gestation when she found out her child had a deformed left hand. She stated her decision to abort rested upon not wanting her child to be discriminated against due to this disability (oh, the irony). The media felt it unfortunate that the deformity was not identified earlier in pregnancy, as if that would have made the abortion more acceptable. (I wonder what would happen if children had the right to terminate less than perfect parents….)

  • Secular Pro-Life lists 8 things that After Tiller left out of their federally funded PBS broadcast.
  • At LifeSiteNews.com, Dustin Siggins produces some interesting insights he gleaned from an After Tiller Google+ Chat, even though the panel had no representation from pro-lifers. One of the abortionists, Dr. Susan Robinson, made chilling statements of twisted logic, so often seen in those whose life’s work is ending others’ lives:

  • At National Review, Michael J. New addresses Politico’s recent poll, the results of which were used to try and make Democrats’ views on abortion appear mainstream, when they aren’t. The Democratic Party supports abortion on demand, not abortion with restrictions.
  • At Priests for Life, Fr. Frank Pavone also responds to the results of both the Politico and Gallup polls:

“When 80 percent of voters in highly contested states and Congressional districts say they want babies protected from late-term abortions, if not most or all abortions, it’s pretty clear who the extremists are – those who support abortion on demand.”…

Devout Muslim woman defends her decision to have an abortion

In beginning to consider an abortion, I looked first to the law. Islamic law makes allowances for abortion up to 16 weeks into the pregnancy (and beyond when the mother’s life is at risk). The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said, “Verily, each of you is gathered together in his mother’s womb for forty days, in the […]

  • Women’s Rights Without Frontiers reports on a tragedy in China where a toddler was run over by a van when family planning officials attempted to collect a fine from the child’s family. Because of great protest in the village, the officials have been arrested. WRWF president Reggie Littlejohn encourages pro-lifers to keep shining the spotlight on this, and other, human rights violations:

Our hearts break to learn of the violent death of an innocent child, and we extend our deepest sympathy to his parents. Those responsible for this violent death must be held accountable. Too often, under the glare of international scrutiny, the Chinese Communist Party will arrest officials who have committed a heinous human rights violation. Then as soon as the attention of the world shifts away, these same officials are restored to their former positions or even promoted.

Muslim cleric recommends burkas for babies to avoid molestation

Babies are sex objects? If not, why would they have to cover up? And don’t think this is just in Muslim countries. I took the above photo [click to enlarge] on Madison Avenue. ~ Pamela Geller at Atlas Shrugs, remarking on the recent controversy of a Muslim cleric declaring a fatwa that all “female babies […]
