  • Wesley J. Smith responds to an article in The Atlantic, which blames one million missing black voters on a higher mortality rate among the black population. Smith reminds them of another reason:

But if you really want to find the source of missing African-American voters, it is estimated that more than 10 million African-American babies weren’t born because of abortion. If you really want to find missing black voters, that’s where I think the finger should be pointed. Because of Roe v. Wade, and what some believe to be the targeting of African-Americans by the abortion industry, there are millions of black voters who never had a chance to cast a ballot.

Pro-aborts: Abortion pill reversal makes women “unwilling guinea pigs”

by Carder There is no science to support this. ACOG [American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists] does not support advising women on treatments that are not evidence-based. These women would be unknowing and unwilling guinea pigs. ~ Gynecologist Ilana Addis concerned about the recent pro-life bill passed in Arizona “that would require doctors who perform […]

  • Secular Pro-Life says using signs for sidewalk counseling in front of abortion facilities can be good… or it can be very bad, depending on the kind of signs being displayed.

The perfect age to die: 75

image

Seventy-five. That’s how long I want to live: 75 years….

[L]iving too long… renders many of us, if not disabled, then faltering and declining, a state that may not be worse than death but is nonetheless deprived. It robs us of our creativity and ability to contribute to work, society, the world. It transforms how people experience us, relate to us, and, most important, remember us. We are no longer remembered as vibrant and engaged but as feeble, ineffectual, even pathetic….

  • Americans United for Life praises yesterday’s Supreme Court decision, with CEO Charmaine Yoest remarking that it was “a victory for common-sense as pro-life Americans do not lose their First Amendment freedoms when they open a family business or when they value unborn life”. But the battle is far from over, as “[a]bortion is woven into the healthcare law at multiple levels, making repeal of the law a pro-life necessity.”

Pro-life news brief 1-14-14

  • A 20-year-old college student is suing Houston Texans running back Arian Foster, claiming he is pressuring her to have an abortion:

Norwood said everything changed when she told Foster she was pregnant and wanted to keep the baby.

“He’s like, ‘You can’t have this, you can’t have this kid, like, we cannot bring a child into this, like, think about my kids,'” Norwood said.

She said Foster began sending text messages urging her to end the pregnancy.

“You just can’t bring a life into this world under these circumstances. It’s not fair to anyone. It’s not just about you,” read one message, according to Norwood.

Stanek weekend question II: Your thoughts on marrying young?

MCDFAOF EC038(Be sure to take the poll at the end of the post.)

An article in The Atlantic is getting a lot of buzz.

Unexpected from a liberal rag came this piece by Karen Swallow Prior on March 22, “The case for getting married young”:

Text messages outing Obama on abortion and infanticide cause uproar

What happened, via The Atlantic:

On Twitter Tuesday night, political operatives and journalists [in D.C. and surrounding area] reported receiving spam texts attacking President Obama. The texts come not from phone numbers but from email addresses, most with mysterious domains: sms@gopmessage.com, sms@votegopett.com, sms@voteett.com. According to Whois.com… those domains were all registered in February, but the registrant’s name is blocked.

Was it legal? Yes, although perhaps not free to the recipient, according to Huffington Post:
